For a couple's escape or a tight-knit trio, Camboose #2 is your sweet spot at Haliburton Forest's Base Camp. This pet-friendly 2-bedroom unit is designed for those who want comfort and warmth without a crowd — just the right size for an intimate cottage country retreat.

One bedroom offers a cozy double bed for couples, and a second bedroom has a single bed — perfect for a child, a solo friend, or a guest. The shared living space centres on a propane fireplace that takes the edge off cool Haliburton evenings. Cook your favourite camp-inspired meals in the fully equipped kitchenette: two-burner cooktop, bar-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and kettle, with all cookware and dishes included. A three-piece bathroom and dining area round out the space. Linens, pillows, facecloths, towels, dish soap and hand soap are all provided.

To be environmentally conscious the units are not supplied with any single use products. Please bring your own coffee (we have filters for the machine), tea, spices, shampoo, conditioner and soap for the shower.

Pets are welcome — bring the dog and let them explore the trails too. If your group grows, Camboose Units 1 and 3 are just across the hallway and easy to add on.

Step out from your door into the pulse of Haliburton Forest: visit the Camp Store for last-minute supplies, the Boshkung Smokehouse for smoky, satisfying lunches and dinners, and the Wolf Centre for a truly unforgettable wildlife experience. 400 kms of trails and gravel roads for every season — snowshoeing, biking, hiking, running, winter only ATVing, snowmobiling — begin right here at Base Camp. Enjoy paddling, swimming, fishing in over 100 lakes.

Cook smores over a fire at one of our communal firepits, enjoy an outdoor game from our games shed and be sure to test your skills finding our hidden Geocaches!
