L'Escala is a picturesque fishing village very well known for its anchovies that are active all year round.
Of course, in the summer, L'Escala becomes an important tourist resort with many sandy beaches
that can meet everyone's wishes. Riells beach (very close to the apartment) and
those in the village are particularly suitable for children; the many Ampurias beaches mix sand and rocks;
A little further on is the immense dune beach of several kilometres (the only one allowed for dogs and
naturism). The beach of the cove of Montgo is a jewel. All these beaches are accessible by a small train
by road, by bike or by car.

Diving is one of the important activities in the area.

Next to its fishing port, the Nautique de l'Escala offers sea lovers a very beautiful port.


L'Escala is particularly known for its huge archaeological site of the ruins of the two Greek cities
and Roman Flame of Ampurias) and its museum; it was there that the Olympic flame arrived by boat
before going to Barcelona in the summer of 1992.
