About this property
This working homestead is a destination not just a place to stay.
Emerald Acres is a destination not just a place to stay. Start with a farm tour and introduction to all the friendly animals that you will be your neighbors during your stay. We will show you where you can collect your own farm fresh chicken eggs for breakfast and give you some food to help you make new feathered friends.
Get away from the crowded cities, unwind, unplug and let your guard down. Sit back on an adirondack chair sip some wine and watch the chicken be chickens, cows be cows.
There are no crowds on 44 acres of private property with rolling hills, mountain fed river, pebble beach. Hang out with super friendly free range animals, chickens, Dexter cows, guinea fowl, ducks, and woolly pasture pigs/piglets. See all the stars you've been missing the city while enjoying a bonfire on a hilltop plateau overlooking the river and cattle.
The well furnished guest house has a cozy loft bed room overlooking the living room wood fireplace with a fold out couch. The kitchen has all the essentials including cooking utensils and spices. If there is anything your need just ask, we are next door. Close enough to for a quick response, but far enough for privacy.
Feel free to roam the entire 44 acres to include stroll along 1/3 mile private river to find the perfect skipping stone hiking the woods or a walk the pasture.
In addition to the queen bed in the loft we have queen foldout couch. Additionally, sleeping cots are available on request.

About the host
Hosted by Hong
We are a family of four. Ben is recently retired from the military and is a government contractor who teleworks from the farm and Hong is a homemaker who grew up on a rural farm in China. The kids are both in elementary school.
We are just starting out in our adventure on this farm last year and decided to share this journey our guest. Our goal is to grow our families own food in a humane environmentally sustainably way. We have still have a long way to our goal.
We aren't certified organic, but we don't use chemicals. We try to ensure all our animals live good lives living with only one bad day.
We have been experimenting with various crops and livestock. We have been focusing primarily on heirloom plants and heritage breed animals.
We are passionate about our projects and love to share our successes and failures, mostly failures at this point with anyone who is interested.
