This is an excellent place to stay in Anchorage. The location is great (close to trails, etc) and the unit itself offered everything we needed. The hosts are communicative and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

I had a comfortable, relaxed stay while in town for a conference. Nice, quiet neighborhood and I enjoyed my walk to and from the conference center each day. I cooked for most of my meals and the kitchen had everything I needed. Would definitely stay here again if I get another chance to come to Anchorage.

Really great location, so clean, and great host. For those visiting in the summer who aren’t used to the late light, the bedroom has great blackout curtains. Walkable to city trails, downtown, grocery, bars/breweries and more!

The cottage was in a perfect location to be able to walkabout-even to downtown! We did not rent a car this trip because we visited family and used theirs. We enjoyed walking to the New Sagaya Market for groceries and the Fire Island Bakery for delicious pastry and coffee. Our host Stephanie was very responsive to our needs and available with suggestions for activities. We would definitely stay here again.

Penny, you and your husband were a pleasure to meet! Thank you for the wonderful review, and I hope we will have the pleasure of hosting you at our place once again!
Very nice, clean rental. There is an additional unit downstairs but was very quiet. Liked that we had off street parking and access to a washer and dryer. Is in a little older part of Anchorage but seemed safe, we didn’t have any problems. Would consider renting again.

We found this to be an enjoyable, cozy, and very clean place to stay. The kitchen is completely stocked with dishes, pots/pans, utensils, silverware, toaster, coffee maker, etc. This unit is located close to downtown, within walking distance to a small grocery store, and close to a walking path/park. Stephanie, our host, was responsive to any questions we might have. We highly recommend this place for your next stay in Anchorage.

Pam! A million thank you's for leaving a review. I am THRILLED you had such a pleasant experience and loved what we had to offer you. Please visit again soon.
Clean and well appointed apartment conveniently located to downtown Anchorage. Easy walk to the grocery store for supplies. Walked to downtown for bike rentals on the Coastal Trail, dinners out, and to catch a tour bus to see the glaciers. We were in town for a wedding and most of our group was in the same area of town, which was great. We'll use this place again when we return to see our son next time.

My wife and I stayed in The Kobuk Aug. 17 - 20, 2024. The home is well appointed with all the amenities needed. The cleanliness was outstanding. The location is in a quiet neighborhood that is easily accessible from anywhere in the city. The host, Stephanie, was very helpful and was accessible via text. Stephanie gave us several great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. We appreciated the local maps and brochures in the home as these also helped us plan our little excursions within Anchorage.

The house has a listing for upstairs and down. We were upstairs and didn’t have any issues. Except when the downstairs turned up the heat upstairs got very warm. Short walk downtime, great location.

Response from VrboOwner on 20 Sept, 2024
Hello Phyllis, I’m so sorry you were not pleased with your stay. Upon your arrival, you called at 10:35 p.m. and stated you could not get into the unit because the lock was broken. I felt horrible about that, apologized profusely and said my husband was on his way. He drove to our office to get the master key thinking the keypad rendered the lock unusable. He asked that your husband show him what was going on with the lock…your husband was punching in the code but did not turn the knob. Literally, that was the issue…turn the knob to open the door. My husband was very patient and made sure you knew how to unlock and lock the door- you didn’t even thank him, but that’s okay. Then, I took your call at 11:05 pm and tried walking you through the thermostat, you stated it was broken and then hung up on me which was uncalled for. You must have realized it just needed to be turned up because I checked on you the next day to see if the temperature was to your liking and you said, “we were perfect”. I hope you can reflect on the fact that I offered you an early check-in (which you declined due to your late arrival), a later check-out (because the schedule allowed for it) and that I provided you with recommendations for local dining which you thanked me for. Additionally, you reserved incorrect dates due to a trip to Seward. I graciously adjusted the dates for you, and refunded you for the day you realized you did not need. I hope any potential guests reading your poor review will read all the other reviews stating the excellent communication and how well we take care of our property and our guests alike.
