Great VRBO property and host.
Thomas was very accommodating and friendly.
House was extremely clean and had everything we needed for a great stay.
We 100% would recommend this property to anyone and will be back!
We came to ski Gore. 5 of us. 2 grandparents, 1 adult and 2 grandchildren ages 8&9. Perfect place to stay after the slopes. Loved the fireplace. Kitchen was well equipped. House was clean and comfortable for our group. Would stay again for sure
This property is amazing. The pictures are accurate and a great spot. The house is everything you would want in the Adirondacks. The location was convenient to so much. The owners are very helpful if needed and very friendly.
The house is a must if traveling to the area.
We wanted to be close to Lake George and the Barton Garnet mine and this spot was centrally located. Can always hear the river flowing and can have a fire outside while looking at the river which was a lot of fun.
From the setting to the decor, this house is beautiful. It has everything needed for a river getaway. Easy and helpful communication make it even better!
Lovely house. Beautiful setting in the woods overlooking the Hudson River. Hosts were very nice answering any questions we had. Would definitely recommend this place. 5star
My family enjoyed a three day stay at the river rapture. Tom and Kate were great hosts all the way through and we truly felt at home in their lovely house. The house was clean, had all the amenities that we needed, and the beds were super comfortable. We loved that we could have a fire and relax in the evenings in front of the fireplace, or make s'mores and enjoy each other's company in the fire pit listening to the Hudson river.

Thank you, Matthew (and family) for being fantastic guests! We're really happy you enjoyed our beautiful home & property surrounded by the Adirondack enchantment you'd hoped for.
It was also a pleasure communicating with you prior to and also upon arrival. We knew our home was in great hands!...and our housekeeper expressed her gratitude for the manner in which you treated our home.
Thanks again and please remember you're always welcome back!!

We visited for my daughters birthday.
And absolutely loved this gem of a cabin, the view was spectacular, the location very close to the ski resort and it met all of our families needs.
We were welcomed with a yummy jar of home made apple jam and had great communication with the owners.
we will definitely come back.
We had a great time here, my wife and I and two of our friends. The location couldn’t be better for access to the river, and it feels very private even though it’s right by the road (which makes grocery runs etc very easy and convenient). Delicious marmalade from the hosts was an unexpected perk! We definitely plan on returning sometime.
Our friends had a fantastic weekend in this beautiful home. I can't say enough how lovely the owners were to work with and how immaculate the home itself was upon our arrival. Nothing beats the serenity and privacy of this location as well as the calming sounds of the river right in your backyard! We would absolutely stay again. Thank you Tom & Kate!
We stayed at this property for a week and didn’t want to leave! Tom and Kate were so friendly and responsive, they answered any questions we had in minutes. The views and the all around comfort of the home feels like a dream. Thank you!!
We had a wonderful time! The location is peaceful and secluded and the sound of the river is fantastic. It's not far to all the activities available in Lake George and Queensbury and there are some great casual eateries right in Warrensburg. We opted not to do any cooking for our long weekend but all the facilities were there had we chosen to do so. We would have spent more time outside if it hadn't been black fly season. I definitely would book this place again!
Tom was as gracious, communicative, and deftly personal as you would want in a host. The home was perfect: warm. inviting, everything we needed was there, open layout, and the outdoor area was just what the doctor ordered! The Hudson River's non-stop lullaby, tall pines, clear nights filled with sparkling stars...just couldn't have asked for a better recharge long weekend and the place to do so! Thank you Tom!
Great stay at this well maintained riverfront home. Everything was clean, up to date and better in person than the listing. Beautiful stone fireplace was put to use after a few days skiing at Gore (a quick drive away) and the bonus basement area with ping pong/pool was a hit with our kids. Communication with the owner Tom was excellent. He was kind enough to reach out and ensure there wasnt anything else needed to improve our stay. Recommend the property and hope to return in the future.
We decided to do a mini Christmas vacation this year! This home is BEAUTIFUL! We had everything we needed from a wine bottle opener to all you could need in this get a way home! The property and the view were Amazing! The home was cozy and the fireplace added that extra touch it needed to make you feel right at home! The owners even had a Christmas tree and decorations set up that made the holiday more special! We would like to throw a "Shout Out" to the owners for making this a great Christmas vacation for our family! Thank you and Happy New Year!

Thank you, Ben, for your kind thoughts. We were confident that you and your family would love our home, the venue, the river sounds and the gorgeous views of nature's private oasis...and we're thrilled to hear you did!
We're grateful to have shared our "picture perfect" setting to enhance your family's holiday season. You were wonderful guests, and we certainly hope to hear from you again. Happy New Year!!!....Tom&Kate
What a treat to spend most of January into early February at this beautiful house overlooking the Hudson River. The views of the river were specular, the house was filled with natural light, the rooms were spacious with soaring ceilings. We are avid cross country skiers and it was great be close to Garnet Hill Cross Country Ski Lodge. Best of all, were our gracious hosts Tom and Kate who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to feel like we had a home away from home. Barbara and Sol

It was a privilege hosting Barbara & Sol, experienced world travelers, at our River Retreat for their annual winter adventure! We communicated extremely well from their initial inquiry last Fall thru yesterday's departure.
They treated our chalet & surrounding property with the greatest of care (as if it were their own), and left our home as sparkling clean and tidy as it was upon arrival. We couldn't have hoped for more capable & responsible guests!
Kate & I even had the pleasure of chatting with with this "forever young" couple as they prepared to depart yesterday! It was great fun vicariously sharing in their cross-country & downhill ski (and even snowshoe) outings.
Thank you, Barbara&Sol, for making our home yours this winter!! You were wonderful guests, equally wonderful people and are always welcome in our home!!!................Tom&Kate
We Fall in love with the house and town of Warrensburg . Location is what we wanted : secluded but next to all our activities : swimming, hiking, exploring historic towns and of course we enjoyed Hudson River just a few steps away and pine trees around the house .House was very comfortable for 6 people . We liked large table where we got together every night to share our day trips high points and to have dinner . Host Tom was very attentive and helpful . Great communication through texts . We definitely recommend this property and will try to come again in winter
A pleasant, peaceful spot. Access to the river was a bit tricky for us older folks but we managed. Bedrooms and bathrooms and kitchen were spotless. We needed to clean the grill before we used it, not a biggie. We used the fireplace, so before leaving, we cleaned it out and left it with fresh kindling, just light the paper and fan it a little, comfy fire awaits! All in all, great experience 😃
Our stay at this property was amazing. The views and sounds of the river at night by the fire pit were so relaxing. The caterpillar frenzy was a bit crazy but not a big deal. It was fun to download the Seek app and figure out what all the different types were. It would be fun for kids to explore for sure. We came during tree pollen season so there were clouds of pollen everywhere. Thank goodness it’s not what Im allergic too so it didn’t bother me or my family. I wish it would have been easier to get down to the river with a kayak. The river was probably too low to kayak in anyway. Plenty of places in the vicinity to kayak instead. The house was absolutely amazing and very airy. We had the patio doors open all week and really enjoyed the fresh mountain air. Mini splits in each room were nice but we didn’t need air at all in early June. Evenings were quite chilly outside so Definitely pack jeans, tennis shoes and a jacket to hang out by the fire pit.
Would have loved to have the option of drawing shades or curtains in the bedrooms because the sunrises pretty early, making it difficult to sleep in at all. Staying up late by the fireside and getting up at 5:00am with the sun made for some much needed naps during the day.
The kitchen was awesome! Everything you need to cook and grill. We aren’t from NY, so we were unaware that we should have separated the recycles from the garbage when taking the trash to the county dump. Just a note, it did cost us $4 to drop our waste off at the dump. We had 3 kitchen bags and one paper bag. It was so nice to not see any of the neighbors. Even though we could hear cars, we felt like no one was around for miles.
We had one issue with hot water but the owners took care of it so quickly, that the house keeper was as the house within five minutes. The problem was fixed without any issues or delays.
10-15 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants. Be sure to bring reusable or paper bags if you don’t want to pay $.05 per bag. Again, we aren’t from NY so we had no idea we would be charged for bags.
No real complaints though just things I would slightly change to make the stay absolutely perfect. The place looks stunning and great for a relaxing vacation. We even got some homemade preserves when we arrived. Bummer that I accidentally left it in the refrigerator.
It is the best VRBO we have ever stayed in!!!
Would definitely stay there again if we go to that region.
Wonderful experience for our family on Thanksgiving holiday and first visit to the Adirondacks. House was beautiful, comfortable, and great for a family gathering. We enjoyed surrounding hikes, time on the river, cozy fires, and fun activities (ping pong, pool, darts). Kitchen great for cooking our Thanksgiving meal, too.
Our group has been going to biking in the Lake George Area
for many years. This house was very comfortable for 3 couple
to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area. We were very pleased
with finding this home.
Beautiful home, just as pictured. Located close to all the local attractions but secluded enough for rest and relaxation with family. Host was quickly responsive throughout booking and during our stay. It was hard to leave to return to our real lives.
