Great spot for our Katy Trail Trip

The Honey Bee House was a great spot for our family cycling trip on the Katy Trail. We've now visited twice and love the downtown Rocheport location and character of the home.

We loved spending 2 days at the Honey House. It has so much charm and you’ve updated, but didn’t take away the charm. We enjoyed the shops and the artists in town also.

A cute and cozy stay

The home is clean and well maintained, updated and yet much of the early 1900's charm remains. I'd definitely return for another stay. Close access to the Katy trail, Les Bourgeois Vineyards, and Meriwether Cafe and Bike Shop.

Grad Weekend

We stayed here for daughter’s graduation weekend. It was close to Mizzou, but still far enough away to be able to have a relaxing weekend far from the chaos of campus. Lots of space to spread out, great deck, super clean, responsive hosts, and close to cute shops & the Katy Trail. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location for riding the Katy Trail! Perfect setup for three couples to visit and hang out in the evening. Whether outside by the fire pit or inside watching football, eating meals or playing cards - plenty of room to hang out and visit. Near shops and The Rocheport General Store.

Jessica was a kind and gracious hostess. The beds were cozy and comfortable. House is in a prime location withing walking distance of a museum, restaurants and the Katy Trail. There's a beautiful railroad tunnel and the bikes for use were nice and in good repair. The host was also flexible when we needed to make a modification. We would love to return and stay longer in such a peaceful location!

Cute little house in Rocheport

Cute house. The front of the house could stand power washing as the siding is covered in dirt .

Thanks for staying Susan! We are sorry we couldn’t earn a 5-star review. We immediately went to look at siding in the front and it has been power washed so it is spic & span. Thank you for the feedback. We hope you’ll stay with us again!

About the host

Hosted by Jessica Kempf

Host profile image
Our family moved to the Rocheport area in 2014 after living in neighboring Columbia, MO most of our lives. We are both Realtors in the area and have loved owning rental property for a long time. We live on a farm with our two children, Colten & Callie and raise many animals, honeybees, and a vegetable garden. We spend our free time in Rocheport biking, watching sports, or traveling.

Why they chose this property

We have grown to love this community over the last several years and recently decided to invest back into the community. We recently purchased The Honey House and decided to take a chance and let others experience the joy & delight of spending some time in Rocheport. The timing was right, and we felt like buying this home was meant to be. After purchasing, we found out the home was older than we thought, dating back to the 1840’s, and was previously the town potter’s home. To this day, there are still scrap pieces of pottery in the yard. We love this home, its location, and overall sweet feel. We hope you enjoy it, too.

What makes this property unique

We love the giant original rock fireplace, and the "secret" safe in the basement wall. We love the location which backs to beautiful woods & creek. We love the quaint cozy feel of the upstairs bedrooms and the beautiful hardwood floors throughout the home. This home has history and you can feel it when you walk in.
