I was worried because I wrote 3 times to the host and she never answered. But I was very thankful that our suite was ready when we arrived. The building is a 400 years old and it's a Museum. Loved our suite. The only bad thing was that we had the suite right at the entrance and every time someone came in or out it was loud. The very last night before our flight early the next morning, there was children running up and down the hallway, very loud.
Fernanda was super responsive and the staff is very helpful! Casa Sauto is conveniently located, though can be noisy on Friday evening with concerts in the streets/squares.

Jenny thank you so much for your review!! We hope to see you again in Casa Sauto!!
Our suite at the Casa Sauto was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. The rooms were very elegant but still had modern amenities. Our suite was located on the 2nd floor-the staircase had good handrails which made going up and down pretty easy. Check-in and check -out was easy,. The staff were very polite and helpful.

Disappointing place
The rooms were dark and the bathroom especially so. It was a very noisy street also.
We could not contact anyone like we were told we could.
The entrance steps were awkward also.
We only stayed three nights as it was not inviting at all.
Very. good security

The property is very unpretentious from the outside, Just a single door with a small sign. Even when you enter it is not impressive, but as you walk up to the first floor where the suites are you begin to see the beauty of this building. Our suite was huge with antique pieces, exposed walls, a large dining, and sitting area and a very large bedroom with a small sofa and a very comfortable king-size bed. What made everything was the fantastic host, Fernanda!! She is a gem. Unfortunately my wife became quite ill while we were there and needed to be hospitalized. Fernanda found an incredible hospital, offered her services to translate, and anything else we wanted. Before this occurred she arranged a wonderful private tour of the fabulous Anthropology Museum. Location is great. If you are not a Spanish speaker, Fernanda is invaluable. If we needed anythig we call her and she arranged it
Casa Sauto is a beautifully renovated important historical landmark in Mexico City's Centro Historico located near the zocalo. The accommodations are spacious, mostly quiet, and well furnished. The entrance, with its automatic door lock, is very secure in a neighborhood that is very busy.
We found the best local transportation with Uber. Taxis are plentiful but if you're not paying attention they will set the meter above the standard rate and you will be overcharged. The standard rate is "D1"; make sure that is shown on the meter before the accumulated pesos.
The manger, Fernanda, is excellent. If you have a chance, have her give you a tour of the event space and offices on the floor above the suites. It will give you a further appreciation for the passion her group has for the history and renovation of this 420 year old building. They've been working on it for ten years.
Not having traveled outside the US for two years, our newest challenge was to get a Covid test before returning. You can easily get one at the airport, but we didn't want to wait until the last minute to know the results. Fernanda scheduled a doctor to come and give us the test at Casa Sauto two days prior to our departure and at a very reasonable price. She even printed out the results for us.
The neighborhood, though busy, is full of conveniences. We found good restaurants, laundry service, and a 7-11 all within a short walk.
We didn't visit Mexico City for two weeks. We lived there at Casa Sauto.
