Unbelievable mountain views! Situated at the summit of Melrose Mountain, this exquisite mountain home provides unparalleled mountain views, first-class accommodations, a Hot tub, a well-equipped kitchen, a pool table, fire pit, secluded in a gated community only 15 minutes from downtown Tryon.

Great year-round views from this Arts & Craft style home in Melrose Mountain. Custom-built with quality finishes & meticulously maintained. The main level has lots of natural light, tung & groove vaulted ceilings & a spacious open floor plan with slate floors throughout. The living room has a gas log fireplace plus a cozy window seat. Dining Area has access to the deck for indoor/outdoor dining options. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances including a gas range & butcher block island. There are 2 guest bedrooms & a shared bathroom on the main floor. The bathroom has a shower and a soaking tub with beautiful mountain views.

The lower level is geared for entertaining with a Family Room, Game Room, pool table, large bar/kitchenette, and beverage cooler. This area opens up to a patio & terraced landscape. There is another shared bathroom & bedroom downstairs. The downstairs blue couch turns into a queen-size sleeper. Onibbar Vacation Rental.

Pets are welcome. We charge $250 pet deposit and we refund $150 as long as there is no pet damage.

Stayed at this gorgeous house recently and we loved it! It’s at the very top of the mountain and the views are incredible. The house was super clean and well appointed. I would highly recommend this property and hope to stay here again. The owners were super fast to respond to a couple of questions we had and very nice!!

This was my son's gift for our family, a getaway for Christmas, he picked the house & the location. The house accommodations were good. The only disappointment was zero Christmas decorations up not even a tree. This is our 3rd year going away other locations had the Christmas feel going on as soon as we walked in the door. Also the women in the house said towels were hard & did not smell good

Beautiful Mountain Home

This secluded mountain retreat was everything we hoped for and more. Nestled deep in the mountains, it offered breathtaking views, peace, and total relaxation—a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The house itself was beautiful, well-maintained, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay.

The views from the house were fantastic! We also took advantage of the proximity to park & restaurant areas during our stay over Easter weekend. We cooked all dinner and breakfasts in the well-equipped kitchen & the kids loved the games provided. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Birthday Getaway

Awesome views and accomodations with this mountain top gem of a home. Windows wrap around the home to bring the long range views indoors. The furnishings and decor was well appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the downstairs bar, card table, and billiard table. Very quiet and peaceful location. Will come again.

Mountain Escape

This was the perfect mountain getaway. You are at the top of the highest mountains with great views and the ultimate place of peace and quiet. The home was exactly as the pictures show and has all the comforts needed to cook the few meals we needed to. The pool table and lower level was perfect for 2 teenage boys to hang out away from the parents. Peter was very responsive when needed and was a great host.

Give Tryon a try!

We loved our last minute getaway to the town of Tryon. The town is very quaint and the local shop owners were delightful to chat with. Hikes were the highlight of our adventure. The house and the hosts are truly 5 star! We were so comfortable and all the amenities needed are available. We did bring groceries with us to avoid several trips up and down the mountain but there are plenty of stores and restaurants in town. It was super easy to communicate with Peter about our stay. We highly recommend this mountain top respite with amazing scenic views!

Perfect amount of seclusion with easy access to town...and VIEWS!

The house and grounds are impeccable! It is the second to the last house at the end of the road, so it's very private. Everything you need is provided, whether it be for a long weekend or a full week (which is the amount of time we spent). Well stocked kitchen. We particularly enjoyed drinking coffee on the deck in the mornings looking at mountain views for miles and then of course relaxing on the VERY comfortable couch in front of the gas fireplace at night. And don't miss the hot tub--turn off all interior and exterior lights before getting in and you can see ALL the stars!

Nice short getaway for us

The house was as described. The drive up to it once in the community was short and not overly steep, our Chevy Blazer EV had no issues get up to the house. The house is at the top and had everything we needed. We love the Landrum Tryon area and they are both short drives. We visited Parker-Binns Vineyard and would definitely recommend it as well as The Hare and Hound in Landrum. A few things to note: If you are in an EV the plug is kinda far from the parking area (standard 50 amp plug and one of the reason we picked the home), we had to get the Blazer just right and it barely reached so you may want to bring a short 50 amp extension cord, Internet speed was around 15 mbps down and 3 up, We like to sleep cold but the heat takes a very long time to get up temperature so don't let it get too cold, the lighting in the bathrooms is extremely dim and for us the bedroom mattress is ready to be upgraded. Overall a beautiful home with great views and we enjoyed the stay.

Fall Break

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay in Tryon. The house is literally on top of the mountain. It is very secluded and quiet. We didn't see or hear anyone our entire stay. The amenities of the home are excellent. It feels like modern treehouse. The views are amazing. Each day has different views depending on the weather. This home exceeded our expectations. I would give it more stars if I could. Also, communication with the owner Peter was great. We had a few questions before we got there and he responded back almost immediately.I would highly recommend this mountain home to anyone that is wanting a beautiful, relaxing and secluded stay. We definitely plan on coming back again.

Not up to safety standards. Poorly maintained and not very clean. The house, since it has gas appliances and a gas fireplace, is required by state law to have one CO monitor per floor. There was none upstairs and a non-functioning one downstairs. More than half the lightbulbs in the house were burned out, the air filters were disgusting and hadn't been changed in a very long time, the water filter in the refrigerator was past due for being changed, the fire extinguishers were all either discharged or expired, and the first aid kit was expired. All those indications point clearly at a gross lack of maintenance. It showed signs of being lightly cleaned, but looking a little deeper showed that the cleaning crew was as irresponsible as the maintenance staff. There was food on utensils, lots of dust in places that should be easily cleaned (window sills, baseboards, corners of the floor, etc). We checked in late one afternoon so we didn't notice much that evening, but in the morning we noticed all these issues and left a few hours later because we didn't feel safe (we were scheduled to be there a week). VRBO has been horrible to deal with. They could care less that all these issues existed.

Beautiful House

Everything about the house was great! The sheets and towels were soft and house was stocked with paper towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen items were high quality. We really enjoyed our stay very much!!

Best Home We've Rented in NC

This is a fantastic newer home. Great floor plan, extremely clean, good view of mountains and a very good owner. We stayed 9 days and were sorry to leave. You won't be disappointed renting this house. We've rented several homes in NC and this was by far the nicest one.

This home has a peaceful mountain mindset. It provides privacy and a warm space for family gatherings in a natural setting. It is located near many hiking trails, and a short drive to Asheville, Hendersonville, and Greenville. Pets are welcome. Max 2 pets under 50 lbs. with a deposit. Pets must be leashed at all times while at the Melrose Mountain community.
