* We have the Best of Both Worlds - the gated Playacar neighborhood for quiet and security, yet close to 5th Avenue and beaches.
* Our complex, Rosa Blanca, is small - just 12 units, very peaceful and quiet with beautiful gardens - tropical birds and wildlife seen often on the property.

LOCATION
We are located at the very northern edge of Playacar Phase 2, a secure, elegant gated community on the south end of Playa del Carmen. You are an easy walking distance to everything in Playa - unlike many other condos in Playacar that are located much further away and require a taxi get to 5th Avenue. Our condo is just a 5 minute walk to the main guard gate and another 3 minutes to 5th Avenue and the Cozumel Ferry, Fundadores Park, ADO bus station and the beautiful beaches. We also have some really nice restaurants, stores and pharmacies available just a few short minutes from the condo, including Lara & Lucas, Viva Palapa, The Admiral Sports Bar, an OXXO convenience store, Wó Market (speciality foods) and Casa Sofias Italian restaurant.

FEATURES
We know you’ll enjoy your time out on the balcony drinking your morning coffee watching the golfers go by as you check your e-mails or sipping your wine in the evenings as you watch the sunsetting skies change colors.

The spacious condo is laid out more like a house than a typical condo, which is extra nice if you are traveling with two couples or kids. There is plenty of space to spread out on our couch or club chairs and to relax with your family and friends. Or you might take a break from the sun and pool to enjoy a movie on one of our Smart TVs or one of the numerous movies (for adults and children) we have available for our DVD Player, or enjoy one of our many books available for reading. We also have several board games, cards, poker chips and activity books to play and enjoy. The spaciousness of the kitchen and living and dining areas make it a great condo for entertaining and relaxing.

Sliding doors in each bedroom open out to small balconies that let in plenty of light and overlook the beautiful picturesque street. They also help pull in the cool breezes throughout the condo when you want to open some windows for a nice breeze. Both bedrooms have wall to wall blackout curtains along with the new kingsize and twin beds (purchased 2022-2023) will make for a very restful nights sleep. *The two twin beds also slide together to make for another nice kingsize bed if needed.

We invite you to read the comments from our previous guests. We strive to provide each guest with a memorable vacation, and I think our reviews will testify to those efforts. We truly love sharing our home with others.

We provide amenities that we ourselves enjoy - it's the little things that can make the biggest difference in your stay. Along with our pool floats and toys, we have beach umbrellas, chairs, beach bags, soft sided coolers, cozies, etc., to help you chill out down on the beach for the day. The sling backpacks provided make taking along beach chairs and the umbrellas a breeze. Use the portable coolers for your favorite beverages and snacks, and add a book or two, and you are set for a relaxing day!

You will be well cared for in our home. Our property managers (NASPlaya) will be taking care of you during your stay. We are also available by phone or email to answer any of your questions. We provide a binder full of suggestions and information about the local area, as well as a condensed email version that will help get you prepared for your trip.

Our guests receive a planning guide from us detailing transportation options and our favorite beaches, restaurants and activities to do once there.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Stays of 14 days or longer will be charged for their electricity usage, which is a huge benefit with the substantial reduction in rental rates. Electricity normally runs about ($75-$200) per month, depending on season and AC usage. Long term guests are also responsible for their laundry of linens and are welcome to use the washer/dryer in the condo.

New Year's 2025 in Playa!

Had a great stay at Mark and Laurie's place for New Year's 2025! The condo and grounds are beautiful, the neighbours friendly, and the pool relaxing. Mark was very quick in responding to any requests we had, would love to make the trip back there in the future. Thanks!

Great location

We enjoyed this condo for our family of 4 - 2 teenage boys. The pool was great. The place was well-stocked and clean. Our concierge was helpful and friendly. We had a rental car and were able to take many day trips around the region.

Better than expected

Condo was great in the perfect location. Peace and quiet at the condo with a beautiful pool. 4 minute walk to all the downtown activity; shops, restaurants, beach etc. communication with hosts and property manager was excellent. Can't say enough good about our stay. Extremely positive experience.

Perfect relaxing location

This property suited us perfectly as we wanted a quiet location but with the ability to relax by a pool or explore the beach. Good restaurants close by and an excellent spot to explore 5th Avenue when needed. The owners provided so much useful information and there was everything needed in the condo to make the stay so easy. Thank you. We wouldn't hesitate to come again.

A hidden gem

Great communications with the owners and helpful throughout the stay/ The apartment was absolutely as described and pictured and was exactly the place we needed to chill in after a day exploring the various attractions in Quintana Roo State. Very homely and immediately relaxing but better equipped than pretty much all the other rentals we have had over the years. Nice neighbours and superb location. Lots of walkable attractions and near enough to the main highway to make more distant trips much easier. At the same time we had almost perfect silence broken only by the birdsong. The balcony is the place to be for an end of the day glass of wine and a game of cards. We Loved It!

Beautiful condo, great location

Mark and Laurie's Playa home is beautiful as shown and very well equipped with everything we needed for our 4 week stay. The location is perfect in the gated Playacar cummunity but still close walking to shopping and restaurants in town. The 3rd floor condo catches a nice breeze flowing through and we enjoyed the birds always in the tree in front of the balcony. Neighbors in the small development were very welcoming and their knowledge of the area helps a lot. We hope to return again!

Peaceful Oasis

This property was beautifully situated for us, in a gated community, away from the very busy tourist area of Playa Del Carmen, yet within 10 minutes walk. We had everything we needed in our unit, a delightful view over the golf course, and a beautiful pool to enjoy. Wish we had booked a longer trip! There are so many things to do in this area if required, and the weather is perfect at this time of year (February). A great winter escape.

Great location!

Perfect location: it is close to everything. At the same time it is very quite here. Laurie (the owner) and Laura (the manager) do make you feel like home. They both answered about a million of my questions :) Laura gave us priceless advices how to get around. We feel like we became almost local :) We used Colectivo vans to get around and like it a lot. Those Colectivo saved us a lot of money as well. Thanks a lot, Laurie, for sharing your great apartment!

Great Stay

Laurie and Mark were simply amazing! Any little glitch they helped fix. The apartment was amazing, clean, quiet locate and safe. The pool was fantastic. The white binder Laurie put together is so helpful. I wasn’t impressed with the management company but saying that Laurie and Mark more than made up for it. Making sure we were well looked after. Thank you for sharing this amazing condo with our family. Highly Recommend it! If I was coming back to the area I would stay here for sure!!

A true gem in Playa del Carmen

We consider ourselves very lucky to have found Mark and Laurie's beautiful refuge for our long-overdue family vacation. With young children (two girls, 10 and 7), it was truly nice to have something within walking distance of the restaurants, downtown, beach and bus -- just quick enough to not wear out young ones. The pool on the property is spacious but with less people using it, it becomes very easy to enjoy the quiet, peaceful life -- and it is such an excellent thing to have around when the sargassum gets too thick at the beach (as it frequently does in the Caribbean.)We've already discussed wanting to return. Incredible property, very clean, great friendliness of the hosts and very intuitive and ample instructions on items you might like to do, or how to navigate life in PdC. The condo is immaculate and tastefully decorated, giving a relaxing, peaceful vibe that tends to make everything better. A gem! Thank you for our time there, it really gave us such a nice boost. Our girls loved it as well. All the best to you both.

Condo in Paradise

This condo was perfect for our family of 4. The condo is beautifully decorated with a blend of modern amenities and local charm. The bathrooms are large, the beds were comfortable, and the balcony overlooked the pool, as well as the gorgeous gardens with the golf course beyond. The pool was huge, with a bathroom and outdoor shower. We loved seeing so much of the local wildlife. The birds were everywhere around our unit, as well as aguti's, coati mundis, lizards and iguanas.Laurie and Mark have literally thought of EVERYTHING you might need, and provide a binder of fabulous information to make your vacation here in paradise PERFECT. We even found a tabletop Christmas tree to decorate with our kids for our Christmas away from home. The kids enjoyed the DVD collection and games when we had some rainy weather.Perfect location, perfectly safe, and close to loads of amazing shops and restaurants. Can't wait to come back.

More beautiful than the pictures.

The unit is even more beautiful than the pictures. There is no better place to drink your fresh ground morning coffee than the balcony looking out over the swimming pool and the lush golf course. I have stayed in all inclusive hotels in Playacar before; but being this close to all the great (and inexpensive) restaurants of downtown Playa Del Carmen was a gourmet treat. I wasn't sure how my four-year-old granddaughter Julia would handle a Mexican vacation; but between the swimming pool, the beaches, and Xcaret, she was in wonderland (that's what she called the walk through the jungle/Mayan ruins to the beach). Ultimately, we had to promise her that we would come back to her "Mexico house" before we could get her to come back home to the US with us.

Relaxing vacation

The condo was very relaxing and provided everything we needed during our stay. We did not use the pool but it was lovely to look at while sitting on the balcony watching the birds. The location is optimal for walking to the beach, shopping or to dine. A couple of days we had rain showers and umbrellas were available to use as well as beach bags. Really the only thing we needed that was not provided were our clothes. Condo is very clean and tastefully decorated. The notebook provided was so useful when choosing a place to eat or something to do.. we even ordered in using instructions in the info book. We are so thankful to Laurie and Mark for sharing their home with us and definitely highly recommend vacationing there if you are looking for a stress free vacation.

Summarizing condo only, I was very please with it. Comfortable, roomy, nice bed, great kitchen.

Avoided cold weather....weather in Playa was fabulous! Property was very nice. Kitchen was well equipped (big priority for me). Pool was lovely but really too cold to use because of chilly nights. We were on 3rd floor and stairs were a real problem for 3 seniors. We were really too far from town and had to walk everywhere. Not a problem for younger vacationers but between stairs and long walk to town, it was difficult. We had a car but traffic so horrible we couldn't really drive into town and finding parking space impossible! Younger, more mobile renters will love this property..

Perfect alternative to a big resort!

We had the perfect week for our first visit to Mexico! The condo was as beautiful as pictured and was exactly what our family of 4 needed. Mikaela (the rental property manager) met us as we arrived and gave us a tour of the place with basic instructions - very helpful! The kids loved the pool (even more than the beach - only a 10 minute walk) and spent hours swimming and playing there. The condo backs up to a golf course, and my husband spent many hours on the covered porch just enjoying the peace and quiet! Walking to 5th avenue was extremely easy and only a 5 minute walk. The conceirge service was an unexpected perk! Maura was absolutely a gem with lots of great ideas for us, she helped us plan several of our activies, and suggested some wonderful local restaurants - to give us the full Mexican experience. Dona Mary on 28 and 30, El Fagon, Delicio bakery (breakfast/lunch) to name a few! Laurie and Mark have a binder of information that was extremely helpful with ideas for food and activies. We took an Alltournative tour to Tulum, jungle ziplining, and swimming in a cenote, which we would highly recommend, that was a highlight for us. We also parasailed and snorkeled. The snorkeling was an activity we set up on our own, and it wasn't our best experience. I would recommend using the conceirge service to set up the tours/activities. We did that for the Tulum tour and the parasailing, and those were much better activies for us! I am sure if we had used Maura to set up the snorkeling, we would have had a much better experience!! We certainly will be back. Our kids are 8 and 13 now, and in a few years will be able to use bikes to get around a little more (two are included for use with the condo). We can't wait!! Thanks Laurie and Mark for such a wonderful first experience visiting Mexico!!

Great Family Vacation Spot

We had a fantastic family vacation in Laurie and Mark's condo! We were there 8 great days. Since we are from the same city, Laurie personaly met with us and gave us tons of tips for getting around Playa and the surrounding areas. We traveled with our two daughters ages 10 and 14. They loved it! The condo is very pretty and had such nice amenities. Laurie's recomendation that we go down to Akumal to swim with the turtles was great as we ended up going there twice. We also loved walking into to Playa each night and seeing all the people on 5th Ave. The beaches are so beautiful and just seem to go on with out ever stopping. We chose to swim with the Dolphins while there as well and this was one the best experiences any of us has ever had. (Be prepared to pay dearly for the dolphin pics though as you can't bring in a camera) Our other big adventure was heading down to see Mayan ruins at Tulum. We splurged for the private tour guide and were so glad we did. Otherwise, we would have just seen it and not learned the planning and history behind the ruins. Upon arriving I made my first mistake and didn't listen to Laurie's advice about taking a cab from the bus station because we were traveling with children. Trying to haul all our luggage without knowing where we were going in the summer heat was not our best move. I listened to all of Laurie's advice from that point forward and things went much better lol. The collectivos she mentioned were very handy and a cheap way to travel. Our girls weren't too fond of them but but we loved how much cheaper it was and let us experience more of the local flavor. Laurie and Mark's restaurant recommendations were very accurate and much appreciated. We often ate breakfast at the condo, packed a lunch and then ate out for dinner. We also had the unusual experience to watch the summer Olympics on Mexican TV in spanish. We never knew that archery was such a big sport in Mexico! It was great to go back to the condo after a great dinner and watch the Olympics before bed. When we go back to Playa Del Carmen this is where we will be staying again!

Exceptionnel!!

Condo idéalement situé à Playa Del Carmen, a deux pas d'une magnifique plage de sable blanc et de la celebre 5e avenue. Tranquilité assurée au sein du très agréable complexe Playacar. L'appartement est extrement confortable, parfaitement équipé et décoré avec gout. Les propriétaires ont tout mis en oeuvre pour que les vacances se passent bien et cela fonctionne a merveille. Pour avoir beaucoup loué, dans de nombreux pays, je peux affirmer qu'un tel niveau de confort et autant d'équipement a ce tarif est du jamais vu. Vacances fabuleuses.

Laurie was our co-pilot

We were a bit nervous traveling due to Covid, plus arriving to a part of the Country we knew little about. Laurie answered all of my (countless) questions prior to our arrival, during our stay and even after we had checked out -"Let's email Laurie!" became our mantra. The minute we walked into the condo any concerns we had just disappeared. It was like coming home - except with tropical birds, turquoise blue waters, tropical winds, a pristine swimming pool and a secluded balcony overlooking it all. Every one of our wants and needs were taken care of and without the noise and hustle bustle of the big hotels. We were far enough away from the crowds to enjoy the quiet peace of the natural world (important to us), yet close enough to partake of everything Playa has to offer. Restaurants, Tulum, Chitzen Itza, Akumal, Playa Azul, Cenotes and of course, the beach. To have such a wonderful home base, an experienced and genuinely kind-hearted host to talk us through everything (including locking myself out of the safe!), meant the world to us. We thought this was a once in lifetime trip, but now, gosh. If we can pull this off again...

Perfect escape in Playa

The condo was located in a quiet area in Playacar that was still an easy walk to everything. The area was safe and beautiful. Laurie and her team were very responsive to our needs and Laurie put in a lot of work ahead of time to ensure we were prepared for our stay. She was very attentive to details and a very responsive host. The condo had everything that we needed, including a blender so we can still make our smoothies. The washer/dryer also came in handy so we didn’t have to pack as much. We enjoyed our time and would choose to stay here again if we were ever in Playa in the future.

Wonderful trip

We loved our time at Laurie and Mark’s place. Location was perfect, we had privacy and our own little oasis but close enough to walk to all the action. I loved making friends with the iguana in the tree on the balcony and the agoutis in the garden area. Apartment had everything you needed and more, I really appreciated the beach toys and bags for my little one. The community itself is gorgeous, we enjoyed the walks and loved Viva Palapa for breakfast and Mamma Mia for dinner. Laurie was amazing, we had a couple of unexpected hiccups early on which were out of her control and she was so lovely and communicative and ensured we had the best stay-which we did. Highly recommend this place and would definitely return.

We have been traveling to Mexico for more than twenty-five years and have fallen in love with the culture, cuisine and people of this country. It was a dream of ours to own our own home along this Caribbean coastline, and in 2008 we finally stumbled upon this beautiful property and bought it! It's great to be within walking distance to the beaches, restaurants and shopping, yet located in the quiet, peaceful gated community of Playacar amongst all of the tropical wildlife. Why they chose this property

Once we decided on Playa del Carmen for our vacation home, we wanted a place that was an easy walk to everything we love - 5th Avenue restaurants, beaches, shopping, bus station for tours, etc. Casa de Sueño (House of Dreams) is uniquely situated on the most northern edge of the Playacar neighborhood, which means that all of the fun activities of 5th Avenue are within a short, easy walk, yet we still enjoy the quiet peacefulness and safety of our gated community. There were many nice properties for us to choose from, but location was the key factor for our decesion. We couldn't be happier with our home.

What makes this property unique

Unlike many condo vacation rentals in the area, the layout of ours is quite unique. Many other condos are long and narrow, to maximize the number of units with a small balcony view. We enjoy a wide, spacious living area with a large living/kitchen/dining area open to the double size balcony. Two couples or a family staying with us will never feel like they are living on top of each other. We visit our home often, and provide for our guests the same amenities that we enjoy while we are there - so no need to pack the hairdryer, pool floats or beach towels. We love sharing our home and Playa del Carmen with others and want you to have the vacation you've always dreamed of!
