Perfect for a ski getaway with friends or a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of normal life, this beautiful lodge is ready for your next adventure! With vaulted ceilings that let in plenty of natural light, rustic decor, and an open layout, entertaining larger groups and spreading out will be a breeze. Head out to the front porch or back deck each morning to breathe in that crisp air with a fresh cup of coffee. Don't worry about cold floors in the morning - both bathrooms and the entryway are warmed by electrical floor heat. After a full day of shredding fresh powder up north or hiking nearby, there will be no better way to settle down and soothe tired muscles than a session in the classic cedar barrel sauna (powered by wood) right outside the front door! Plus, the chef of the group can easily whip up a tasty meal for the whole group on all of the appliances of home in the full kitchen. Come summer, the private gas grill will come in handy for family cookouts as the sun dips behind the trees. The baker of the group will enjoy the use of cookie sheets, mixing bowls, a hand mixer, and other bakeware.
What's nearby: Sitting just two-and-a-half miles from Alyeska, the skiers of the group will have endless runs and fresh powder within a few minutes of the front door. Enjoy the use of the free town shuttle to get around! While in the area, be sure to take a break from the mountain and check out the charming shops, restaurants, and cafes that are scattered throughout the town. If you are wanting to take a day trip into downtown Anchorage, you are only 39 miles away making for an easy commute into the vibrant city. Beluga whales can be seen chasing the silver salmon in the glacial waters of Turnagain Arm. This home is located also on the only road that heads south out of Anchorage, so guests will be easily connected to other towns in the region.

Adorable Cabin with great location
This was a great little cabin with easy access to all of the things our family wanted to do. There was more than enough space for our family, the beds were comfortable, the amenities were great, and the house was clean. We also had several moose encounters!

Hi Kyra, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us. We passed your comments along to our local manager to review and we appreciate guests’ preferences as a means to continually improve. We look forward to hosting your next stay!
Great place within driving distance to a lot of great sights. We especially enjoyed the wood burning sauna! It also had a pack and play for the little one which was a life saver. Loved our stay!
We had a wonderful girls stay here! The beds were so comfortable and cozy. We loved the light from the windows. The sauna is amazing. We love coffee in the morning and night, so we were disappointed that we had 1 bag for our whole stay.
The property was clean. The area was quiet. The beds were comfortable. The entire house was set up perfectly for making meals and relaxing. Nice central location to go to Seward or Anchorage. Highly recommend!
Gorgeous home nestled in the beautiful Alyeska mountains. We took our annual family vacation with our young adult children and found everything about this property to be the icing on the cake of our vacation!

Alaskan adventure
This property was the perfect spot for our three generation Alaska adventure. The house was clean and there were many thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. I would definitely book this adorable place again.
We had a nice stay here before flying home to Michigan. It was comfortable, convenient, and relaxing. The area was beautiful and there was great food nearby. We would love to spend more time here the next chance we get to visit Alaska.

Everything we needed
This home was great. The layout and number of bedrooms were perfect for our group. The house was clean upon arrival. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen was a nice size and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
Property was great. Plenty of space to spread out and to hang out together. All the amenities we needed. Clean and easy to communicate with property manager.
House was very clean and was very comfortable for us. The view was not great but it was a nice house overall. I would recommend this house to others but know that the views are limited.

Good location not very private
All beds were comfortable, quiet, good location to all activities, comfortable and cozy. Kitchen was not fully stocked, checkout is very early at 10am and they aren’t flexible in that at all. Property management is slow to respond

Hi, Becky. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about the comfort of the beds, the quietness, great location, and coziness of the property. We’re delighted these aspects made your stay enjoyable. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the kitchen not being fully stocked and the early, inflexible 10 a.m. checkout time. Our standard checkout policy is in place to allow our housekeeping team sufficient time to prepare the home for incoming guests, but we understand how this may have impacted your plans. We also regret that you experienced slower response times from property management and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Please know that your feedback is valuable, and we will share it with the appropriate teams as we continually strive to improve our guests’ experience. Thank you again for your thoughtful review, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future.

Great location and well equipped and clean home.
Plus: very clean and modern appliances; great location in Girdwood; easy access for late arrival; very private and quiet.
Minus: not their fault, but very dumpy looking property across the way from from balcony.

Misleading
The pictures are misleading. The beautiful windows in the picture face other properties on all sides. This property was $1000 more than another property and we were told we had to provide toilet paper AND coffee. ( the other property provided both).

Response from VrboOwner on 28 Jun, 2025
Hello Kelly, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate your honest feedback as it helps us grow and improve. I’m sorry to hear that the cabin didn’t meet your expectations, especially regarding the views, pricing, and supplies like toilet paper and coffee. I understand how disappointing that can be. For your convenience, we only provide a starter supply of essential items such as one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels, a trash bag in each trash receptacle, laundry detergent, and a few dish soap pods to help you settle in. Once these supplies are consumed, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional items they may need throughout their stay. Please note that condiments, coffee (and filters), plastic wrap, food storage bags, aluminum foil, and specific cookware are not provided as part of the amenities. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again soon!
We were initially concerned when we approached the property due to the cleanup needed on some of the neighboring properties but the Hanging Glacier chalet is tidy inside and out. We stayed in Girdwood for a couple of nights in July while hiking and taking in the sights of the beautiful countryside. This chalet is a clean property within a couple of miles of the hiking trails near Alyeska Resort. A car is necessary if you want to reach the local restaurants and some of the outdoor activities in the area.
