JUST WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR
The property is a little tricky to find, especially in the dark, but we managed just fine. The rock walkway from the driveway to the front door is a major tripping hazard, and the wooden borders are slippery as ice when wet or damp, but other than that it was perfect.
Once inside you could see it was well cleaned and maintained. The smell of the fireplace was a bit overwhelming at first but then brought back childhood memories of cabins long since forgotten.
Plenty of room to relax and unwind. There is even a very nice screened-in porch in rear of home to sit and listen to the mesmerizing sounds of rushing stream below.
The property even offered the use of a one car garage under the home, if needed. We kept our motorcycle there one night when it rained.
All in all, a perfect getaway nestled in the woods. A dozen elk meandered through nightly, looking for a bite to eat safe from any traffic.
Highly recommended place to stay. We were there for eight days, but we could have stayed there for months. We will be back when we return to Maggie Valley.
