Welcome to Campero House!
(campero is Spanish for "country")

This is our personal home away from the hustle of big city living and we're so happy to share our slice of desert heaven with you. Located on the border of Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree, Campero House is in the quiet Yucca Mesa neighborhood which backs up to protected land right behind our property. We invite you to stay at our home and look forward to sharing our community with you.

We have hosted guests traveling from all over the world and our hope is you'll be able to gather friends & family, get cozy in our home and enjoy the beautiful Mojave Desert and Joshua Tree National Park.

Campero House is a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom 1400 sq ft property—great for friends, couples or a small family. We have comfortable couches and even more comfortable beds inside in addition to two cozy seating arrangements (an area for two and an area for four) outside for colorful sunsets, sunrises and star gazing.

We invite you and your guests will check-in, kickback, unplug and start slowing down to enjoy desert life. We look forward to sharing the magic of the desert with you soon!

• OUTDOOR ACCESS
Please use the kitchen sliding doors as your main backyard access and not the living room doors.

• HEATING & COOLING
Central air conditioner and heater controlled by NEST thermostat. The floors are concrete throughout and can be chilly especially in the winter.

• WASHER & DRYER
Washer and dryer available to guests that are staying with us for an extended period of 3 or more days. If you're traveling with an infant or young children please let us know and we will give you access to the laundry room.

• KITCHEN
Under the kitchen sink you will find a clothing steamer, large first aid kit, dishwasher pods, trash bags.

• BATHROOM
We have a septic system so it's important that you put NOTHING except the provided toilet paper into the toilet and that you do not overfill with toilet paper. Use a little then flush and use more. :)

• FIRE
WE DO NOT HAVE A FIREPIT. Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no outside fire policy. If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, using fireworks or other open fire means your rental agreement will be terminated and you will be asked to leave.

• INFANTS/CHILDREN
High chair and pack-n-play are located in the garage. If you would like access, please message us through your reservation in advance and we will have them out for you.

• GAMES
A selection of games is located in the entry closet.

• DESERT CRITTERS
Desert life means lots of creatures. Don't be freaked out or surprised by ants and lil' bugs...they've been in the region long before us humans. No matter how clean a home is and how often it's exterminated (we do it every month for you), bugs may appear. At night you may hear coyotes (sounds like dogs but all local dogs are kept in at night). We won't list the desert friends that live in the region cause we know it freaks out some folks. We just encourage you to remember that you're in the very rural, mostly untouched desert when you stay with us.

• RENTAL AGREEMENT
There will be a rental agreement sent out that will need a signature to complete the reservation

• IDENTITY VERIFICATION
You will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identity and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash-encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. Data-input in the vault is encrypted in a two-way function where information is scrambled using an encryption key and unscrambled later using a decryption key. On top of that, we use hashing to add an extra layer of security using a one-way function where a unique message digest is generated from an input file or a string of text. No keys are used.

• GUESTS
You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and overnight guests.

By renting this property, guest acknowledges that they have read, understand and accept the terms listed above.

Want to wake up in Joshua Tree and have a masseuse come directly to your vacation home? We have that contact! Please inquire upon booking and we will help connect you with your private masseuse.

• PRIVATE HIKING GUIDE
Want to explore the area and all the secret hiking spots the locals use? Don't want to drive into the National Park but want to be able to see the beautiful scenery surrounding the home? We can connect you to a local hiking guide who can plan a trip based on your preferences and the best part.. many times the hikes begin right from your front door!

• PRIVATE IN-HOME MEDITATION, REIKI & SOUND BATHS
Connect with your soul during your desert stay. Experience a private or small group session of kundalini yoga, meditation, and/or sound bath by private teacher and energy guide. Reiki energy alignment sessions also available. Please be sure to call or email and schedule at least 24 hours in advance.

• PRIVATE CHEF
Looking to throw a dinner party to remember? We have got you covered! Our private chef is simply the best and she can cater that whatever your specific food needs would be. Please inquire with us and we can introduce you to her.
