About this property

Steamy Soaks with Scenic Views, Fireside Chats, Outdoor Showers & Game Nights - Jackson's Cabin

Welcome to Jackson's Cabin

Perched in the Smoky Mountains just over 8.5 miles from downtown Pigeon Forge, Jackson's Cabin is a pet-friendly log cabin that sleeps up to 8 guests and delivers the kind of setting that slows everyone down in the best possible way. Panoramic mountain views pour through every window, and the outdoor spaces, from the screened deck to the firepit with swings, give you plenty of reasons to stay outside long after dinner.

Fires, Swings & Outdoor Escapes

Step outside and settle in. Pull up a swing around the outdoor firepit as the sun dips behind the ridge, or sink into the oversized hot tub on the screened deck with mountain views stretched out in front of you. The full-length covered porch has artisan rocking chairs and ceiling fans for breezy mornings, and when the mood strikes, the charcoal grill and outdoor shower round out the experience.

Cozy Nights & Home-Cooked Meals Inside

Inside, cathedral ceilings and all-wood interiors set a warm Appalachian tone. The wood-burning fireplace with its stacked-stone surround anchors the open living room, where the leather sofa, flatscreen TV, and high-top checkers table give everyone something to do on a laid-back afternoon. The kitchen earns its keep with red cabinetry, granite countertops, and a full lineup of appliances. The chandelier dining table and high-top breakfast bar have plenty of room for the whole group, and the loft arcade is right upstairs when the mood calls for a little friendly competition.

Sleeping Arrangements

Jackson's Cabin has 2 bedrooms and a loft that sleep up to 8 guests across 1 king bed, 1 full bed, 1 twin trundle bed, and 1 futon. The primary suite on the entry level features a garden tub and tile walk-in shower; the upper bedroom has its own walk-in shower and mountain views. Every room has a TV. Free Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and keyless entry keep things convenient throughout your stay.

The Area

Just over 8.5 miles from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, the cabin puts you close to Dollywood, The Island, and a full stretch of Smoky Mountain dining and entertainment. Tennessee Mountain View Winery is only 2.8 miles away for a relaxed tasting afternoon, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park is 11 miles out for hiking, fishing, and scenic drives. Wears Valley, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg are all within easy reach for more shopping, food, and family-friendly fun.

A comfortable cabin with great views of both sunrise and sunset. It was just my husband and myself, so more than enough room, but still felt cozy. We had to use both the air conditioner and the heat in April, both very effective. Hot tub worked well with a great view. The main king bed was very comfortable. We had no issues with water pressure, probably because it was just 2 of us. And the water actually made really good coffee! We brought bottled waters but it was fine from the faucet for us. Kitchen is well stocked, especially with pans in good shape, which was a treat for us in a rental. Everything was in good working order with newer appliances. You may want to bring your own bath towels. Bath towels are smaller hotel type. The driveway is very steep and takes a few times of traveling to feel comfortable, a blind curve where you come up on a home on the driveway just before the cabin could be concerning, but no one was there when we rented so not sure how much of in issue it would be. We just took it slow. Our Pacifica van made it up ok. Make sure to take a wide turn to enter or exit the driveway to avoid bottoming out on lower vehicles. (Or come at the driveway straight on)The newer outdoor fire pit area was beautiful and a perfect way to spend the evening while watching the sun set. We spent most of our time in Wears Valley and Townsend, so much to see and do. Such a peaceful wonderful vacation for us! Miss it already!!

Thank you for the five-star review! Glad the cabin hit the sweet spot of roomy yet cozy and that you enjoyed both sunrise and sunset views. Happy the heating/cooling worked well, the hot tub and king bed were comfortable, and the kitchen (especially the pans) met your needs. Appreciate the notes about water and coffee, and the tip about the smaller bath towels, we’ll pass that to housekeeping for consideration. Thanks also for the detailed driveway advice; that will help future guests plan their arrival. Pleased you enjoyed the new fire pit and exploring Wears Valley and Townsend. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’d love to welcome you back.

Nice cabin with fantastic views. Driveway is a bit steep, but it’s concrete. Our minivan made it just fine. Comfortable and peaceful.

It was a good stay, right in the middle of everything, roughly a 30 minute drive from the cabin. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and the views were breathtaking. The only thing that could’ve been a little bit better was the water pressure & temperature. For the cleanliness we would do 3.5/4 only because of there being bread crumbs around the toaster, a piece of trash on the floor, and then the rolled up ball of trash under the fridge door, and there was a HUGE shoe print on the rugs in the master bathroom.

Wonderful views

Our cabin was clean, comfy, and well decorated. There is plenty of room for several extra people. We really enjoyed having the wood fireplace, hearing the wood pop and crackle as we gazed out over the valley below. The stocks of plates, glasses and cook wear was everything we needed. After reading some older reviews we were a bit nervous but all for nothing. Yes the driveway is steep but it’s the mountains, and well water is a bit rough for those not used to it. We expected all of that and now that the owner haze paved the driveway it is very easy to manage. We really enjoyed our stay in Jackson’s Cabin and can’t wait to go back for a fall viewing of those mountains.

Sounds like you had a wonderful stay, and that makes us so happy! Nothing beats the cozy crackle of a wood fireplace while taking in those mountain views. Glad to hear the cabin had everything you needed and that the updated driveway made things easier. Hope to welcome you back in the fall for an even more breathtaking experience!

Dirty cabin, brown smelly water, on a narrow unpaved road.

The worst VRBO experience I have ever had. This cabin is located on top of a mountain with beautiful views, but the views aren't worth risking your life. The road leading up to the cabin is unpaved and hardly five feet wide; it's incredibly unsafe. The cottage is on a well, so the water is brown, smelly, making the cabin smell bad. You can tell the furniture is from a goodwill store. The beds are not comfortable either, and the property is poorly maintained. The wifi is horrible as well. it's nearly the scene of a horror movie. I was staying here with my husband and six month old, and the water was not safe to wash his bottles with. My husband is a new driver, and we felt unsafe driving to the cabin. We would leave downtown hours before sunset, as not to risk having to drive there in the dark. We called cabinsforyou to try and cancel our reservation for the remainder of the days, and they said no and hung up on us. After my husband wrote an email directly to the CEO, they let us cancel our last night of stay there. VRBO was also highly unhelpful, and I lost all faith in them. I was on the phone with them for a total of 6 hours. I called them at 6 pm and had to keep recalling until 12:30 am. They told me they could find alternative accommodations for us but kept disconnecting the call after saying that, and every time I would call back. The agent would tell me that they don't have the software to find new accommodations, put me on hold, and ultimately hang up on me. At one point, I was crying on the phone, begging them to either issue a refund or find us new accommodations, and they said that it was not their problem and that we had to stay there until they talked to the property owner, which wouldn't be till the next day. My husband and I ultimately gave up and booked a hotel because it would rain the next two days, and we did not feel safe there. In short, don't book this place, unless you feel safe driving on an extremely steep unpaved road, and like places that smell bad, have bad water, are unclean and don't have WiFI. I also highly recommend not booking any stays through VRBO, becauseif anything goes wrong, they will just keep ypu on hold until you give up.

Rabia, we hate to hear your experience with us was so poor. We completely understand how scary mountain roads can be, especially when you're not used to driving on them. We sincerely apologize for all the dismay this caused you and your family. On top of that, you ran into problems while inside your vacation home. We never want our guests to feel as if they're not safe, and we recognize we dropped the ball on making sure you felt heard. This is not the getaway we wanted to provide, and we're disappointed to know this was your experience. While we're grateful you could speak with our management team about the difficulties you faced, we understand the offer presented was not the resolution you desired. We appreciate you working with us to reach an agreeable solution for your troubles. We have shared your review with all departments involved for an immediate and thorough inspection of the property. We will also review the listing to ensure this is advertised correctly, so this does not happen to future guests. Although we were unaware of some of the issues you were experiencing during your stay, we do appreciate you taking the time to share your honest feedback with us. We will make sure that all needed issues are addressed promptly. Please know this is not our standard experience, and we would love to serve you better in the future. However, we do understand your decision to stay elsewhere, and we hope your next Smoky Mountain getaway is more enjoyable.

Beautiful Views

Beautiful views, the drive up is a little nerve racking. The cabin is nice, lots of room,Place could have been a little cleaner. Kids wouldn't even play pool the table was so dirty. Mattresses on all beds are quiet worn. Over all we enjoyed our stay.
