The View

This home was everything and more than we hoped for. The view was simply incredible and we spent countless hours just looking… house is stocked inside with all you will need, we cooked, grilled and had plentiful drinks, never short on glasses, dishes or otherwise. Two things we’d love to see improve: outdoor seating was extremely lacking, uncomfortable seating for four, just one sun lounger. One thing out of the owners control is the neighbors dogs that seem to be awake from 11pm-4am every day. We overcome this nuisance with heavy white noise. Overall an incredible stay and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again (with more outdoor furniture) :)

Tranquil vacation at a spectacular property!

We needed some R&R and Villa REN was the perfect property. This charming and modern home is beautiful inside and out. It’s spacious and really made us feel “at home”. The views from the backyard are breathtaking. We loved watching the mountain goats every morning and evening as we relaxed on the patio. The properly manager, Stavon, was so kind and professional, and he communicated with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. We loved every minute of our relaxing retreat, and will be staying here again. I’ve never been more relaxed and happy! It’s perfect!

Wonderful stay

Our family of 6, including a 16-month-old, thoroughly enjoyed our 10-day stay at Villa Ren. The villa’s location is superb, nestled in a quiet area with breathtaking views, and it’s just a short 10-15 minute drive from English Harbour. The photos online don’t do it justice; the villa and its surroundings are stunning in real life. The garden is beautiful, and we were pleased to find the pool sparkling clean, thanks to a cleaning during our stay. The beds were very comfortable, and the provision of extra towels, including pool towels, was a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. We highly recommend Villa Ren for its beauty, comfort, and location. It’s a perfect spot that we’d love to visit again.

We had a great stay. The views are stunning. Best on the island. Loved The views of rock face adjacent to the property, seeing the goats climb every day and pointing them out became a thing for us. Having Obi, the outdoor car, there was a plus. We loved having her great us when we’d come back from our day trips. The four of us were comfortable in the space and felt safe without having neighbors too close by. The views of the harbor were amazing. Loved the proximity to all the restaurants. The property manager was very responsive. Thanks Villa Ren for an awesome Girls Trip 2023. Hope to be back in 2024!

Best Place to Stay in Antigua

This is our 3rd stay in Antigua at Erika's place. The house and location are perfect. The view of Falmouth harbor is fantastic, and you are close to everything Falmouth and English Harbor have to offer. This is by far the best place to stay in Antigua. You are far away from St. John's (which you want to be!). Pidgeon and Galleon Beaches are our favorites and are close by. Our Dive Center (Dive Carib) is right down the road and there is a great selection of restaurants nearby. The house and grounds are beautiful, and the view simply can't be beat. I would highly recommend!

Can't wait to go back. But it was already booked!

Stavon (property mngr) was above and beyond amazing. Got taxis for us, got someone to help us with car trouble. Ty Bigs. Always responded to anything we needed instantly. The villa was jaw dropping when we walked in. Better than described. I just have to say I ordered the sheets and pillows on bed as soon as we got home. The view, the sunsets , the sunrises, the goats on the side of the mntn. We loved the cat and the turtles. Can't ty enough for sharing this w/ us Erika. We truly want to come back.

Best view of Antigua

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa. The view and the pool are really the best and we felt like staying at the villa was time well spent. Communication with the Manager was good. The turtles were a nice feature for the kids!

Amazing all round

A bit ironically, the photos on the website don't really do justice to the house - it's bigger inside than it looks, in part due to the triple height, whitewashed internal beamed ceilings, and the property extending backwards a fair amount. The plot is also larger - there's extra decking by the poolside that you could fit 5 sunloungers on, plus a large front patio that a hotel would probably put 15 loungers on! But then the view.....unbelievable! I doubt you will find a better view in any house in Antigua. You both see clear south to the sea and English Harbour and out to the distant ocean, but also to the east of the island and all the hills and coast there. It ends up being quite spiritual being able to see so far, watching the sun rise over the sea (from your bed!) in the morning and then all the way to setting behind the hills in the evening. The house was perfectly well equipped - eg iron etc, beach chairs, an Alexa and Bose speaker for music - and all the other kitchen stuff. The pool is great, and well maintained (2 visits from the pool guy to clean etc). And Stavon the property manager was very helpful - we struggled to find the house at midnight in the dark, but he was on hand to give us more detailed directions, and then checked in the next day and gave us a tour of the house. I would say English Harbour/Falmouth is the best place to stay in Antigua - as you go north to Jollys or Dickinson, it gets much more commercial and crowded with hoards decending from cruise ships. But this area has great restaurants and is a low-level mix of family tourists and posh yachties coming ashore. And the beaches eg Galleon, Half Moon are unbelievable. As a Brit who normally holidays in southern France, Spain, Italy, I'm just not used to how unspoilt and undeveloped the bays are. You feel like an 18th century explorer! So... we had a wonderful time!

My husband and I stayed at Villa Ren in November 2022. We were ultimately very disappointed with our experience and write this review with the intent of informing other travellers of the problems with the property so that they can ensure that they have been rectified before deciding to book a holiday here. How this home is presented and it’s reality are not the same. The biggest disappointment was the pool. We booked this home for it’s view and vanishing pool. Unfortunately, the pool we got was green, suffering from algae and dirt. It wasn’t swimmable. We ended up spending our stress free holiday emailing the property manager and owner with appeals to have it fixed. Unfortunately, they either didn’t buy the equipment or just couldn’t get it sourced and it was never fixed, despite daily assurances that it would be. The other problem was cleanliness. I was assured by the property manager that the home had been thoroughly cleaned according to covid protocols. It was not. There were fingermarks on all the appliances, dirt on the floors and most shocking, a drawer full of what looked like pubic hair in the bathroom. Every surface of the bathroom had hair on it. I spend our first morning there cleaning. The house needs some care and fixing up. In the living room the ceiling fans do not work making the room hot and stuffy (it doesn’t have AC) You do get a nice breeze by opening the one set of accordion doors that work but you also then live with geckos in your rental (which we did) The rental comes with a cat. We loved her but my husband is allergic to cats. So give this rental a miss if you don’t want to care for a cat during your holiday or you are allergic. On the plus side, the view is absolutely amazing. You are perched on the hill overlooking the harbours and on the other side goats play on the hillside. The house is well appointed for cooking. The beds are very comfy with quality linens and towels. For us, the holiday was ruined by the situation with the pool which it appears the owner was aware of long before our arrival and could have fixed to avoid this problem. There is spotty communication, we had to remind her of our arrival in order to get check-in info from her. There is no information or guest book at the home to provide info on the running of the house, or local sights, restaurants etc. This home has the potential to be a wonderful vacation home. The owner just needs to invest some money to fix items that are not in working order.

Wonderful stay in beautiful Antigua!

This was our first trip to Antigua and absolutely loved this rental. The view was to die for and the breeze that came through the house via the sliding doors was heavenly. The home was very welcoming and the beds were very comfortable. The property manager was very responsive and answered all of our questions promptly. We couldn’t recommend this rental more - it was our home away from home and we enjoyed it very much. Thank you!

A true paradise

I cannot express what a perfect day we had at Villa Ren! Everything about this beautiful home is a dream come true. the views from every direction take your breath away, whether you are looking at English Harbor or at a beautiful mountain a literal stones throw away. The home is impeccable and the furnishings and beds are so comfortable and homey! There’s everything you need in the house to make you feel at home, from the kitchen to the bathrooms (full bottles of shampoo, soap, and even toothpaste!!). I never want to leave vacations but I truly never wanted to leave here! I could see myself living in a house exactly like this for the rest of my life. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We will be back for sure!!
