Our third year coming back to this amazing property. Perfect space for our 9 person extended family. It’s like living on a nature preserve. So much wildlife. Gorgeous views and access to bay. Floating in pool while looking at bay is so relaxing. Ping pong, kayaks, paddle board. You won’t be bored. Had great meal at close by Blue Heron. We had one problem with a toilet and someone came within 5 mins of my call. I can’t recommend this property enough!
A beautiful setting! An excellent home for relaxing, cooking, and entertaining. Also a great home base for boating and hiking. Diane makes everything so easy.
Perfect for gathering friends and family. We loved the pool and easy access to the kayaks. A couple of little glitches were quickly resolved by Diane, who was incredibly helpful.
A few tips- the long dock has other boats moored there, no places nearby to rent boats (we had a boat delivered from across the Bay), the Swan Creek water is not for swimming, but the pool and its surrounds were so lovely it really didn't matter.
Great place a short distance away from the DC/Maryland/Virginia area. No AC in the garage/game room, but lots of other things to do like fishing, swimming and birdwatching. While we didn't get to use it much, the kitchen was amazing. The only downside was the number of mosquitoes.
The house and the setting exceeded my expectations.
Morning coffee looking out over the water, and evening wine on the pier enhanced the relaxing vacation I sought. As advertised, the owners provide lots of toys (bikes, kayaks, games) for entertainment too. I had friends and family come at different times over a two week period so a house with five bedrooms worked well.
Our extended family of 10 included grandparents, two families with parents and 4 kids in late teens. There was something for everyone. We used the pool, bikes, and ping pong table. It was very hot so the kayak was used a little less than usual. Rooms were comfortable and we loved the setting and location. We will return.
We arrived on the day of a big storm, which blew a lot of buds from the trees into the pool. Diane was very helpful in getting the pool cleaned right away after the storm. We also had an initial problem with operating the grill. Again, Diane quickly solved the problem.
This is an amazing property with incredible views of the water and all sorts of bird life. The pool is huge and the house is large with lots of areas to hang out. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and bikes. My only negative is the maintenance of the house. The weeds were overgrown ( they came and took care of that during our stay.) The house should have been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. However, we had a fabulous week and it’s a great place for a family to enjoy. Diane, the property manager, was great and responded immediately to questions or concerns.

Nice but could have been nicer
Very nice property but not private enough. The large five-bedroom house worked well for us, but it needed an upgrade. The pool in mediocre shape, plantings are very nice but unattended. It was a very workable kitchen with everything available, but the whole house needed a deep clean. Some of the pool toys and one paddleboard needed attention. We had to change our gas tank on the grill. I would still recommend it, but it's a little pricey for a less-than-luxurious house. It would have been nice if someone was there to clean up the yard and patio pool area after a big storm
We have been to Rock Hall many times over the years by boat. We sold the boat a few years ago but wanted to return to our favorite small town and relive some of those memories. The house and grounds were beautiful, sitting directly on Swan Creek. There were 7 adults and 2 kids. We used all of the amenities, riding bikes to breakfast, kayaking, catching huge catfish from the pier, ping pong tournaments, grilling and eating steamed crabs on the screened-in porch while kids played in the pool. The pool area has plenty of space for sunbathing but also has some trees that provide shade for those who do not worship the sun. Plenty of wildlife around, deer, ducks, bunnies and one sea turtle that wandered into the backyard and dove into the pool. Luckily we were there to fish him out with a crab net from the garage and set him on his way in the creek. Very relaxing couple of days. Be aware there is only 1 TV in the whole place, another would be nice especially with kids. Great little vacation.
This property is perfect! The water views are fabulous. The house is well equipped, clean and comfortable. And there is a wide range of activities including swimming in the pool, kayaking, biking, a game room for kids/teens, etc. Our group had a wide range of ages and everyone had a lovely time!
Family members help me celebrate my 96th birthday. Location of this property and it’s magnificent views were perfect. Everything ran smoothly and I have nothing but positive to report.
We were gathering in Rock Hall to meet up with family who came on boats. It was wonderful to have a central location where the whole family could gather around the pool and outdoor tables and eat dinner together outside. Folks with boats with shallow draft were able to motor up and drop off at the dock. The inside of the house was beautiful too — large, spacious, with stunning views through many of the windows. The tweens and teens in our group loved playing taping pong and foosball in the poolside garage space, playing basketball on the court outside and, of course, swimming in the pool and sunning on the lounge chairs afterwards. Just a gorgeous backdrop for a special weekend with extended family.
We enjoyed the house, the pool, and the dock. We enjoyed the Pirates and Wenches fun that we stumbled upon when we booked it, but unfortunately there isn’t much to do in Rock Hall Sunday - Thur. So we definitely did a lot of relaxing with great views! The kids fished off the pier. It was a pretty good week overall! The house is so nice, plenty of space.
The house is beautiful, with great common spaces, and convenient sleeping arrangements for a large group. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked. There's also a great grill for cooking outdoors. The pool and yard are great for hanging out.
Beautiful property. Lay out of house was perfect for our 2 families. Chef’s kitchen. Pool area was lovely. Diane, the property manager, was great. Air conditioning issue was addressed right away.
This property has it ALL for a memory making family get away - from the picturesque coastal views to the variety of leisure activities to the spacious & open floor plan.
Our family loved the kayaks, nature watching, poolside lounging and the idyllic local shops and restaurants.
The huge kitchen, large bedrooms with comfortable beds made everyone happy with ample space for alone and together time.
With only a 2 hour drive from DC, it’s a perfect city getaway. We can’t wait to return when it’s warmer, but this special spot would be a four season delight.
Thank you to the hosts for sharing your unique and delightful property! It’s a gem.
We just loved our time at this amazing property. Beautiful house with great family space, a large, well equipped kitchen and incredible views of a quiet inlet leading to a larger bay. We sat for hours just enjoying the vista (which included incredible birds such as great blue herons, ospreys and even a bald eagle!)The grounds are just beautiful with lovely gardens and a very large, well placed pool with lounge chairs. The house itself is warm but expansive with plenty of room for a large family. Great things to do as well. The house has its own dock to sit and have coffee and watch over the bay. We kayaked twice with home's kayaks and road the house's bikes into town. There is a nice little beach that is walking distance on the ocean side. We have done quite a few vacation rentals and this is an excellent value, especially when considering all that comes with the home.
Amazing and beautifully appointed waterfront paradise in Rock Hall
We are so happy to have stayed at this special house in Rock Hall, MD. The place is very impressive, exceeding expectations, pictures probably do not capture the beauty and uniqueness. We were lucky to find this perfect house, with nicely appointed social areas and bedrooms, great outside areas, a long pier with an osprey nest now occupied temporarily by geese who will hopefully vacate soon and allow the osprey in. The sunrise is picture perfect, and the bird life is unique; there are so many birds rivaling the very nice Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge which is worth an afternoon visit. Lots of light and many options for inside and outside spaces to relax and enjoy. The property management and communication were superb. The drive into Rock Hall after crossing the Bay Bridge is beautiful, and a stop in Chestertown and its bakery and Saturday farmer's market highly recommended. I can only say our stay is the first of many, hopefully.
