The Blue Bear Cabin is a quiet, comfortable home base for your outdoor adventures and a peaceful place to reconnect with family and friends. Located a few miles outside of Cedaredge, on the southern slope of the Grand Mesa, convenient to nordic and alpine skiing, hiking, fishing, and hunting. Watch deer stroll through your amazing view of the Mesa during the day, and enjoy awesome stargazing around the firepit at night. The cabin kitchen is fully equipped to cook up some great meals, down to Tupperware and plastic wrap in the drawers. There's an instant pot, crockpot, waffle iron, blender, immersion blender, electric griddle, toaster, and plenty of pots, pans, and mixing bowls. Outside is a Weber gas grill. Lift up the lid of the trunk in the living room to find an assortment of games and activities for all ages. The cabin sleeps four comfortably; five if one is a small child sleeping on the Regalo My Cot. There's plenty of room to park your trailer by the cabin; just stay on the gravel. And no special vehicle is necessary; the roads are plowed and slopes are gentle right to the front door. Let us know prior to check-in if you'd like to use the child's cot, highchair, or dog crate during your stay so we can have them in the cabin when you arrive. For our guests staying more than seven nights, we offer a complementary linen change and light cleaning at the halfway point, or every seven days. Arrange a mutually convenient four-hour window with us. The entire cabin and environs are for your use. The 10-acre lot (shared with our house) is bordered by Timothy Rd. to the north, the fence line to the east in back of the cabin, and the fence line running along the west side at the entry to the property. The south side has no fence, but if you reach the neighbor's house you've gone too far. :)

We have stayed at the cozy Blue Bear Cabin before and and we look forward to returning many times in the future. We enjoyed the games and coloring activities in the cabin, my kids did not ask about TV once, it was refreshing.
We stayed a couple of nights with our daughters and it was a wonderful experience. The cottage was cozy, and had the most delightful and thoughtful items rarely found in a vacation home. I would stay there again and recommend it for anyone wanting to explore Cedaredge or the Grand Mesa!
Blue Bear Cabin was a wonderfully comfortable and peaceful haven. It has a charming cabin vibe off a country road surrounded by trees, the host’s house and neighboring houses are nearby but it was very quiet. The cabin is very thoughtfully furnished and decorated with a lot of art, books, games and homey touches. The main bed was very comfortable, great shower, and plenty warm even though it was snowy and under 20 degrees at night. The kitchen is very well equipped. It’s a few minutes’ drive from Cedaredge and you can be on top of the Grand Mesa in 30 minutes, there is a nice view of it from the driveway. I loved looking out on the trees and seeing deer grazing right outside and flocks of wild turkeys nearby. Karla is a great host, the blue bear welcome cookies were a nice touch! I would love to stay there again to enjoy the cabin in different seasons.
This is our second time at the Blue Bear Cabin. We will definitely come back next year. Cross country skiing up on the Grand Mesa is always wonderful. The trails are always groomed and the snow good.
We make several trips every year to cross country ski on Grand Mesa. We enjoy eating in and cooking our own meals in the well-stocked kitchen. Our home is super quiet and so is this place. It makes us feel right at home.
The cabin was tidy and cozy. It is an excellent retreat for a couple or a small family. Plus it is very close to Grand Mesa and all its exploration opportunities. I would happily go back and would recommend it to friens.
This property was perfect for a little getaway!! Delivered all the accommodations we needed except for television. I brought my own thinking I would use it but only turn it on for about an hour. The host was right next door but respected our privacy and space and I would absolutely Buck another's day if I am in the area!!!
We rented the Blue Bear Cabin for 18th anniversary weekend getaway. It was perfect! So adorable and not too far out of town if you need something. The pellet stove and games were perfect for the evening after the sun went down. Would absolutely stay there again.
This little cabin was clean, had all the kitchen utensils you’d need, comfortable beds, clean washroom, games, internet, and privacy. We loved our stay. Highly recommend…it exceeded expectations!
Philip and I are a semi-retired couple who have lived in Texas, the Denver area, and the coast of Mississippi. We have family in Montrose, which is what drew us to Cedaredge. We're trying to complete the house we're building near the Blue Bear Cabin, but life keeps interrupting! Philip works as a ski instructor at Powderhorn resort and I mostly goof around. We love to spend time on the Grand Mesa, whether it's hiking, horseback riding, biking, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.
Why they chose this property
Once we purchased the Blue Bear, we worked on improving it during summer visits. When I had the opportunity to retire early, we thought it would be great fun to build a new home and have the Blue Bear for friends and family. It's stocked and furnished pretty much like it was when we lived there, which will hopefully make our guests' visits more carefree.
What makes this property unique
We love how the cabin is not really isolated - it's not far to town - but somehow it feels tucked in the woods. Especially at night! The view of the Grand Mesa as you walk down the driveway can be spectacular.
