Island Time Cottage - Waterfront with Sea Views in the Winterless North

An absolute water front cottage in a quiet ,peaceful location with wonderful sea views, make this the perfect ‘get away from it all’ accommodation for up to 4 persons. Yet is only 5 minutes drive to all Paihia holiday activities and main shopping.
Located on the Opua waterfront in the Bay of Islands, it is just a short walk to the wharf, general store (for food provisions), Opua Yacht Club and Marina. Virtually straight across the beachfront road is the start of the Opua/Paihia coastal walking track – an early morning ‘must’ during your Bay of Islands holiday.

Fully equipped for self catering with 1 King and 1 Twin Bedrooms (separated by an up market bathroom), this fully refurbished cottage provides excellent accommodation for the short or long stay visitor wishing to explore the Bay of Islands and Far North region.
A large full Kitchen and open plan Living/Dining with glass doors opening onto the sea facing sunny deck make for a relaxed lifestyle in comfortably furnished surroundings and with everything at your fingertips.

Linen and a clean on departure are included.
The extra facilities of Heat Pump etc make this cottage as pleasant in winter as it is in summer.
Special conditions:
• This accommodation sleeps a maximum of 4 and is not suitable for small children.
• In consideration of future guests, smoking outside only please.
• Sorry, no pets or tents.
• The driveway from beachfront road to the cottage is quite steep, but there is street parking available if preferred.

Linen and a clean on departure is included.
Please note: We ask that you do all general housekeeping, wash & dry dishes and remove rubbish to the bins provided, as required, during your stay and you leave the house in the same tidy condition in which you found it.

Magnificent place to enjoy the Bay of Islands

This is one of the nicest short term rental spots we have uncovered in 30 years of our experience. The home is beautifully equipped and the deck is the perfect spot to enjoy the bustling harbour action. We highly recommend this lovely property and are .grateful to have stayed there

We very much enjoyed staying in Opua. It was close enough to Paihia but not touristy. The unit had everything we needed with a fantastic view. Should we return this would be our unit of choice.

Truly amazing views!! Outstanding location! Near Opua Ferry Terminal, great views of harbor. Less than 10” to Paihia, 20” to Russell. GREAT coffee at general store, a short walk away. Comfortable home, with amazing deck! Well equipped kitchen, washer/dryer Outstanding in every way!!!

Really enjoyed staying at this very peaceful bach and watching the sun rise over the marina. Great walk around the coast to Paihia and taking the ferry across to Russell. Note, there is no spa (as shown on listing in bookabach).

Fabulous views. Very clean. Had everything we needed. Has had a makeover since photos were taken and is much nicer than in photos. Loved having the swimming at the end of the drive and being in such a quiet space. Watching the boats all day was so relaxing and fun. Would love to go back.

The cottage was spectacular!!

We don’t want to over recommend the property because we want to come back! It’s already difficult to get! We had a splendid time - visited Paihia, Kerikeri, Waitangi, Russell, Long Beach, boat tour of the Bay of Islands (out to the hole in the rock). Amazing! Wished we could stay longer. Didn’t want to leave!

Excellent property, clean+ well equipped. Perfectly situated for bay of islands as we like to be just a little out of Paihia. Lovely shore walks+ swim spots. Stunning views. Have to access 2nd bedroom through bathroom. When we were there the dishwasher was not working + there were wasp nests under the adirondacks on the front deck. But this did not detract from a lovely couple of nights there

Just perfect! Fabulous apartment, with everything we needed. Wonderful views from the balcony, and it was fun watching the ferry move from bay to bay. Would definitely recommend. Worth noting, a steep drive and quite a few steps to reach those incredible views.

Great place to stay. Mindful of very steep drive and path up to house but superb view when there. Second bathroom is downstairs accessed outside. House is well stocked with all you need. Car ferry just down road. Cruising club for dinner is good. Would stay again

Lovely Property with Amazing Views

The property was great, Katrina has everything you need for a wonderful stay, very comfortable. The location is very handy in Opua to the car ferry to Russell, local boat club (nice meals), fish & chip shop & great local store (best coffees). Fishing off the wharf was great, a couple of nice snapper were caught. The view from the cottage is amazing & so lovely to sit on the deck any time of the day for a meal or a drink. We loved it.

A beautiful location!

This was a perfect location for our short stay in The Bay of Islands. The view from the house was spectacular and always something to watch as the boats and ferry went past. Very peaceful and tranquil. The house was tastefully decorated with a superb and well equipped kitchen. This property is soaked in sun most of the day and has incredible elevated views of the Opua Harbour. It is very modern inside with a large kitchen which is well supplied. The beds are really comfy in both rooms. The house is perfectly located for the Russell ferry, Marina, local supermarket/cafe with Allpress coffee and a fish and chip shop (all 3 mins walk) This home exceeded our expectations. We could easily park 2 cars in the driveway (which is steep) and there is more parking at the bottom if you're not comfortable with the driveway. Great stay - highly recommend.
