Sam's Place 2/2 w/Hot Tub in Mountains 15mins to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg
Our cabin in the well established Sky Harbor Resort is located 15 mins from the Island in Pigeon Forge and 15 mins to Gatlinburg directly between the two on the Spur in the Smoky Mountains. Minutes from great attractions and restaurants, whether choosing Dollywood, Gatlinburg, or our favorite, the Island at Pigeon Forge, you will find more than enough to keep you entertained.
On clear nights you can see all the way to Pigeon Forge where you will be able to watch the Wheel from the Island change colors off in the distance (best view is during Fall, Winter, and early Spring due to dense foliage during late Spring and Summer). You won't have to worry about looking out and seeing buildings everywhere, just peaceful mountain scenery. From the large windows in the living and kitchen areas, you will see nothing but trees, nothing to block your view.
Cabin conveniently located on private acre with private master bedroom (queen size bed) on main level with full master bathroom along with open loft upstairs featuring additional queen bed and private full bathroom. Each bedroom has a dresser, writing desk, and ceiling fan with a spacious closet and 32" flat screen TV with HD cable.
The living room has a 40" flat screen TV ready for you to log into your favorite streaming application. Relax on the comfy reclining leather sofa and love seat. For ambiance, feel free to turn on the electric fireplace to add a nice warm glow. You can choose to disconnect from the world or enjoy the provided Wi-Fi throughout the cabin. If your family enjoys making your own meals as opposed to eating out, you will find a fully functioning kitchen with a dining table that seats 6 - four chairs and one bench. We've totally stocked the kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, cups & glasses and a full drawer of cooking and eating utensils. There are also a traditional coffee maker or a Keurig, toaster, blender, crockpot, and microwave available to make you feel right at home when the family gets hungry. Right off the kitchen is the laundry area and the first bedroom with full bath. Upstairs you will find an open loft design as the second bedroom and full bath with a breezeway crossing over the downstairs living area to a private upper balcony. On the main level outdoor deck, you will find a 4-piece table and chairs to sit and enjoy your coffee and the sound of birds chirping as you take in the view.

Excellent stay, remote, beautiful, all we needed to enjoy
The surroundings are beautiful, the hot tub was wonderful, VERY CLEAN property, and just what we needed for a weekend away. Thank you!!P.S. Do pay attention to the fact that this property does have a steep driveway, just in case that might matter to you.
Sams place was great, clean and welcoming. We had a full kitchen and saved money on eating out. Comfy beds and a great view of the Smokey’s. The drive way is pretty steep so an all wheel drive vehicle is needed.
Very nice clean cabin with an awesome view of Pigeon Forge! We stayed 5 nights and viewed fireworks shows every night. Last 100’ of the driveway is very close to 30 degree incline with sharp curves (90 degree plus)
The cabin was exactly as described, clean, and well-maintained. The host checked in to ensure everything was okay. The location was great. The hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of blankets. My teenage daughter slept on the couch and found it comfortable as well. We have AT&T and had decent cell service. While the driveway is steep, it's not a reason to avoid booking this cabin. I plan on booking again in the future.
This was our first trip to the Smokies, and we couldn’t ask for a more perfect cabin, location to the best parts of the Smokies, and overall mountain experience. The cabin was clean, expertly appointed with everything you need, and a view to die for. The driveway was an adventure and added to the experience. You cannot go wrong with this cabin and host.
Beautiful property high upon a mountain. The driveway up to the property is very steep so exercise care. Property is true to listing and is close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We did see several bears during our 2 week stay.
Beautiful cabin , Great communication with owner !
The owner was very accommodating and very easy to deal with . The cabin was so beautiful and we loved every part of it including the beautiful views! The driveway is not to be underestimated , it is very steep and during the winter it was difficult to drive on . Thank you for letting us stay here ! We would come again and would recommend to anyone looking for a cabin !
Awesome mountain cabin! Super clean. Great attention to detail spoiling us with lots of extras. Beautiful decor. The driveway up to the cabin is a bit crazy but doable if u use you follow the helpful tips. There are several steps up to the front door which may be an issue for some. Loved this cabin!
The cabin was beautiful, the view from the cabin was georgeous. The driveway is very steep. If you do not have 4 wheel deive you will need to go at least 20 to 25 mph at the approach to the driveway, downshift to first gear and do not stop.
Will definitely stay here again.
We had an amazing time at Sam’s cabin! First morning we saw bears on the deck while we were in the hot tub! Scary yet amazing! The scenery is beautiful! House is clean and cozy and everything you’d expect from the listing. The host responded almost immediately anytime we’d message. 10/10!!! We had a great time here.
Sam's place is up in the mountain, the driveway is not for the faint of heart, but remember, you came to the Smokies, if you want flat we have the Midwest, or Florida. Actually, being high in the mountain makes the cabin magic, the view is incredible, and the driveway is very doable. The house it's beautiful and well maintained, beds are confortable, cabin is clean. We love it!
The place's road is very bad, you can't get up the road to the cabin even if you have a 4x4 or all wheel drive car. You can't even walk up to the cabin from the main street. The stairs are falling apart and the cabin it NOT taken care of.

This guest thoroughly read our listing as he pointed out an inconsistency in our amenities that was promptly corrected, so I am very surprised at these comments. However, the rating does not come as a surprise considering the comments received from the guest regarding the refund of his deposit. Note that there are three ways to pay a damage deposit: card, cash, or insurance. If you decide against insurance and choose to put up cash or card, your deposit will be held by Vrbo (not the host) for 14 days past check-out. Once the hold period has expired and your deposit is refunded, it may take your bank 5-7 days to release the funds to your account.
Vrbo gives hosts this time to file a claim because damages are not always found immediately after checkout. We are grateful because we have found damages well past the checkout date that were not reported by the guest that damaged the item.
Before you decide to opt for the cash or card option, please consider that it may take 3 weeks to have your deposit returned to you.
Do you want to carry that balance into your next billing cycle?
Do you need the cash returned to you by a certain date to avoid missed payments or late fees?
Will the finance charges be more than the charge for the insurance?
Consider these important details before making a decision on how to pay your deposit.
The accommodations of this property were great. Very clean and organized. Everything that you could possibly need is there. The cabin is located in a good area not far from pigeon forge or Gatlinburg at all. The drive up the mountain to the cabin the last stretch is pretty steep. It is asphalt though and definitely doable in a front wheel drive and even a small sedan just take your time. The property owner is also very helpful and nice. No issues at all it was a lovely vacation 10/10!
Clean property. Property manager was fast to arrange a repairman for the broken AC unit. You will see bears. We seen 5 bears on our week long stay. DRIVEWAY IS VERY STEEP! DONT ARRIVE AFTER DARK ON YOUR FIRST NIGHT. The view is amazing but a lot of trees need trimmed to make it better. Great place to stay!
All was 100% other than the driveway. I actually modified our plans due to the steep driveway and concern to actually be able to get up it at night or when the roads were wet. We cut our stay short also due to the driveway. Nothing the owners could due about this. We were told about the driveway and had clear helpful instructions from the host on how to navigate the steep incline. It was just too much for me.
Beautiful cabin and views, conveniently located to everything!
My family of 4 (2 kids 9 & 11) loved our stay at Sam’s Place. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The driveway was steep but was no problem with our 4-wheel drive truck. The view from the balcony was great and getting to see the fireworks from Dollywood every night around 9:40pm was an awesome bonus. Only wish we had some binoculars to see the light show that goes along with the fireworks. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. Samantha is very communicative and has everything laid out and labeled, which makes check-in/check-out a breeze. Would highly recommend this property if you want to be close to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge!!!!
Such a great spot to spend our spring break. Views were amazing! Hot tub was very nice after long days of chasing kids in Pigeon Forge! Location was great between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The drive up the mountain to get to the cabin isn't for the timid driver, but totally worth it! Cabin is beautifully decorated to have a "homey" feel, and comes with most everything you need for a great experience. If i had to complain about something, I would have liked some leftover containers, couple of extra kitchen towels, and pot holders.
Absolutely a 10/10 experience, would stay here again for sure. The kids are begging to go back every year!

About the host
Hosted by Samantha Wilkerson
My husband and I enjoy traveling with our family and friends and spending time with them in the great outdoors.
Why they chose this property
We bought this cabin to have our own place as a base for our hiking activities in the great Smoky Mountains.
What makes this property unique
Although there is a neighboring cabin, you would never know they are there. Our cabin sits at a higher elevation than theirs for better views and more privacy.
