About this property
Fishin' Bear - Enjoy Spring and Summer in the Smokies!
Welcome to Fishin' Bear, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin in the Goose Creek Resort, minutes outside Pigeon Forge. This cabin sleeps 6. It's just far enough away from the bustle of the Parkway, while still being within 10 to 15 minutes drive of most everything. The hot tub on the screened in porch is a great way to unwind after a day sightseeing or hiking!
With easy paved road access (no mountains to climb) while maintaining a country setting, you’ll spend less time driving and more time having fun! This cabin is in a serene, low traffic, wooded area on a nice hillside, with a large parking area for your cars.
As soon as you enter Fishin' Bear, you’ll be amazed at how modern, beautiful and comfortable this cabin is. The expansive living room features beautiful wood tones, a stone fireplace with gas logs, cozy décor and a cathedral ceiling with accent painted exposed beams that creates an open, spacious atmosphere. The wide plank hardwood floor has just been refinished with a specialty method to give it a tiger striped appearance, which gives a natural warmth to the cabin. I do hope you'll take a minute to look at and appreciate it.
The main floor has a living room with a sleeper sofa and comfortable seating; the gas log fireplace is seasonally available. Cable TV and WiFi are included, along with a DVD player, should you want to enjoy one of our classic and fun videos. French doors out to the screened in deck add to the airy feeling of this cabin, and the windows illuminating the second story above the French doors make the cabin bright and cheery even on gloomy days! There are white drapes over the French doors in case you want to close them, while maintaining a bright feeling.
The kitchen is recently remodeled, with all new cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances, including refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, and full of the dishes and cooking necessities to keep you happy through your stay. The dining table has plenty of room for everyone, while the breakfast bar is perfect for grabbing a quick bite before adventuring out for the day. The cabin also has a washer and dryer, so if you want to do a quick load of laundry, it's very convenient. We do provide a couple of laundry pods, but if you're going to do a lot of laundry, you might want to bring more.
This neighborhood has a community water system, and we have installed a state of the art water purification system. This cleans the water, removing any trace of odors which might be noticed in other cabins, while not adding chlorine or other chemicals to your drinking, washing and showering water.
The master bedroom holds a king sized bed and unique furnishings, including dressers to hold your belongings, and a hall tree with mirror. The master bath has just been completely renovated, with a nice vanity, great lighting and amazing, oversized triangular jacuzzi tub with integrated hand-held shower. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed, wall mounted TV and country style furnishings, including bedside lamps for those who want to read a little before bed and a comfortable reading chair. The attached bath has a nice vanity with lots of light, and a tub with shower behind tempered glass doors. Both bathrooms include antibacterial hand soap on the sinks.
On the deck you'll find comfortable rockers with new cushions, along with a new hot tub, installed in late 2021. It's screened in, so you're less likely to get mosquito bitten. It's very secluded and quiet, with a nice wooded view. Because we are not too high on the mountain, we don't have great mountain views. although there are nice views down the valley toward the mountains off the right end of the deck. The plus side of that is that there are no difficult roads to drive to get here.
The front porch has new log furniture as well as a new porch swing. There is also a gate at the top of the porch steps, so if you are traveling with a small child, it's easier to stay safe. Overlooking the front lawn, the porch a great place to relax. The large front lawn is great for picnics or games, or doing some grilling on our new state park style grill. There is a new picnic table near the grill and fire pit. We do have fire wood available, if you’d like to enjoy the fire pit! Adirondack chairs around the fire pit make it easy to enjoy some relaxation outdoors, and the gravel lining the fire pit and picnic area means you won’t find yourself standing in the mud. Or, if you'd like to enjoy a little fishing, at the entrance to our community, there is a private resort pond with a covered dock, for catch and release fishing; the pond is only for the enjoyment of the guests in Goose Creek Resort.
We are located just six miles from Dollywood and the Old Mill, giving you easy access to some of the best attractions in the area! Stop by the Island, less than 4-1/2 miles away, to take a spin on the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. Visit downtown Gatlinburg, only 11 miles farther away, with so much to do it’ll have you planning your next trip! Enjoy mountain air on an easy hike along Boulevard Trail or check out Rainbow Falls Trail and be rewarded with a remarkable view of the highest single-drop waterfall in the Smokies. If you want to spend time in the park with less hiking, Cade's Cove is about a half hour down the road; their 11 mile driving loop offers lots to see and ample opportunities to park, picnic and enjoy the mountain air. There are times of the year when Cade's Cove doesn't permit cars in some areas; you can download the National Parks app for more information.
This is a great cabin for a romantic getaway, friends' weekend, or a family vacation. There's plenty of room for everyone, lots to do in the area, and a nice spot if you just want a little down time!
Installation of a dedicated Level 2 EV charging outlet is planned for this spring. Updates will be provided; if you're interested in visiting here with an electric vehicle, please let us know.

Great little place in “the woods” but really not far from stores.

I love the privacy of the cabin, and it still has easy access to stores, attractions and the National Park. I am very pleased that you enjoyed your visit. Thank you for staying here.
Cabin is very nice and homey. Loved the hot tub and giant shower. Cabin needs a deep clean, there were clothes left from other tenants under both beds, and quite a few cob webs, but it was a fantastic stay and we would definitely book here again.

The cabin was exactly as advertised. It was perfect for us and our two children, ages 8 and 11. The location was great! Close enough to Pigeon Forge to be convenient, but not so close that there was a lot of traffic or noise.

Host was great! The house was perfect super easy to find , great location to the parkway , but even better a fully stocked kitchen. The covered porch allowed us to sit outside during the day and enjoy the fall weather. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip and place to stay.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit! Thank you for staying here.
Property was beautiful! Very clean and well kept. Cabin was in a great centralized location, close to attractions but still far enough away to feel secluded.
The cabin is at an easy to access spot pretty close to all main attractions in pigeon forge. It was clean, the floors were super slippery and the walls are a bit thin you could hear people talking in the other room or hear the tvs on. But overall a nice stay

I wish you had told me about the cleaning issues when you arrived, because I would have send my cleaner back out to fix them. The walls in cabins tend to not have insulation, so I apologize if you found soundproofing lacking.
I'm so happy you enjoyed your visit! Thank you for staying here.

I live in the area, and am excited to have guests come to enjoy all the area has to offer! Whether enjoying the attractions and shopping in town, visiting the National Park for an easy walk or a more challenging hike, or just relaxing in a nice, quiet place, there is something for everyone here.
Why they chose this property
Fishin' Bear is in the Goose Creek Resort. We are a little bit up on the hill, so you have a nice vista of the valley from the front deck, and are close to the pond. It's nice to sit around the firepit and enjoy the serenity of a very quiet neighborhood, or walk for a minute or 2 to sit on the dock and enjoy our little pond.
What makes this property unique
Fishin' Bear is a bit out of town, which makes it really easy to get to the National Park or the attractions in town. The screened in porch for the hot tub is terrific, because you can lounge in the hot tub without getting bug bitten. There's also plenty of room for parking, and a yard if you have kids who want to romp and play a bit. The pond is private, so no state fishing license is required. Please, catch and release, so others can enjoy the experience!
