The house is beautiful, with spectacular views. We watched the sunset in the hot tub and ate breakfast in the sun drenched kitchen. The house is well stocked making meals at the house an easy choice. We especially appreciated the abundance of fire wood. Communication with Marisa was easy…she responded immediately whenever we reached out for recommendations and info. Would stay here again!

House is excellent. Plenty of room, kitchen is great, the views are incredible, beds are super comfortable, hot tub was awesome, firepit with plenty of wood was handy and fun. I can't think of anything that we needed or didn't have access to and the host is extremely responsive. Would fully recommend this property and definitely plan to stay here if/when in the area.

Our group had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Arroyo Seco. The views were incredible the second week of October with the Aspen trees showing off their vibrant colors. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset. We cooked a few family dinners in the extremely well-appointed kitchen. Seriously, I've never seen so many spices and pots and pans in a rental home. It made us feel right at home. We hope to stay here again!

The magic Taos

Although I started the stay in the hospital with pneumonia, My wife and her friends had a great time. I was out Sunday and enjoyed Monday and Tuesday recouperating at the property.

Spectacular Views and Magnificent Home

We truly enjoyed our stay at this property during a ski trip to Taos. The place is much larger and grander than even the photos show and Marisa was a very accommodating host! Would definitely return!

Take me back to Taos!

This was by far one of our favorite vacations. Our family met in Taos to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. This home was beautiful, stocked with everything you could possibly need, and the neighborhood and views were postcard-worthy. Everyone had their own bedroom and bath, the living room was huge and beautifully furnished, and the bright kitchen was big enough for all of us to cook together and just hang out. The house and property are something I would absolutely love to call ours. There's no doubt this will be our go-to home whenever we're in Taos again.

Taos Ski Trip

This home exceeded our expectations. We felt like we were staying at a friend of the family home. Amenities and things like towels, humidifiers, kitchen extras, bedding….were the best we have ever experience. Beautiful home, great location skiing and Taos activities. Host very accomodating!

Great vacation

This was an excellent choice for our family spring break vacation. The house was very well stocked with supplies, very clean, and had a superb view from the patio/hot tub. Marisa was communicative and responsive. She even sent a snow plow on the morning of departure, so that we would have an easier time leaving the property. I would highly recommended this home to anyone.

Stayed for a week at this beautiful house! All pictures and descriptions were 100% accurate. It did not feel like a vacation home but instead like we were invited for a holiday at a close friend’s home. This home had everything we needed and more. It is a very quiet and private property and just a short drive/walk into Arroyo Seco for groceries, restaurants, and shops and a 20 minute drive to all major sites. We loved coffee on the deck in the mornings and looking for wildlife in the evenings. We visited Taos, Taos Ski Valley, Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, Earthship, Rio Grand rafting, and a day trip to Santa Fe. So much to see and do! There are also several hiking trails just up the road. I would definitely return someday. The owner/manager was very easy to get in touch with and answered all questions and made local recommendations too. Loved this house and this area!

The deck and living room have a great view. The house was clean, but in need of basic maintenance. We were told the day before we arrived that the fireplaces were not to be used – apparently the flues clogged up on the previous renter and the place got badly smoked out. We were told could instead enjoy the outdoor fire pit located away from the house down a rocky path – pitiful. We found many dozens of flies buzzing around in the house – another bummer but at least we made sport of killing them for a few days. The microwave had a bad display making it difficult to use. Management’s reaction to us complaining about the microwave was, “no one has complained about it before” (as if that matters to me) and “at least it works.”

Great Stay In Taos Area

The property is lovely. Absolutely stunning views. Plenty of space for the entire family (four adults). Great common areas - the porch with the hot tub is a particular treat - but the living area is perfect for gathering and visiting. Kitchen is substantial and one could easily cook all of your meals in the house and never go out to eat if you didn't want to. Conveniently located for access to the "greater Taos area" but very private at the same time. Great hiking in the immediate area that is perfect for all levels of hiker. Absolutely beautiful. If you come in the summer be aware that there is not air conditioning but the blackout blinds work wonderfully (you can still see the vistas) during the day keeping the temperature down. The nights were comfortably cool (outside temps dropped into the 50's). The nearby Taos Cow (ice cream/sandwich/coffee spot) is a must do! Overall a wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

Lovely home

We had a great time at Hacienda Alta. We had between 4 and 6 adults during our ten day stay and there was plenty of room for us to all spread out and relax The house had everything we needed and more, including a well stocked kitchen where we enjoyed making meals and hanging out. The views from the deck are truly amazing. We saw some beautiful sunsets. Two of our party worked remotely part of the time and the wifi service was great. We originally thought we would stay in Taos but so glad we ended up here. The village of Arroya Seco was so charming and we liked being equal distance up to the ski valley or to the town of Taos. Marisa was a wonderful hostess. She communicated well and responded quickly to any question we had. We are glad we chose to vacation jn New Mexico and especially at Hacienda Alta. We hope to be able to return again, perhaps during ski season next time.

Perfect Getaway

My wife and I very much enjoyed this stylish and well-appointed home. The decor and artwork are gorgeous, with a classic beloved New Mexico feel. It sits in a quiet and private mountain setting, with sweeping views of the Taos valley. We especially enjoyed having coffee on the deck in the morning and enjoying the city lights in the distance in the evening. The bedrooms were very comfortable and private, and though it was just the two of us for our stay, we can see this would be a perfect home for families or larger groups. The kitchen was a dream to cook in, with more gorgeous forested mountain views to the East. Check in and check out were seamless, and we had everything we needed during our stay, but it was nice to know that Marisa was readily available if needed. Highly recommend!

Family vacation to hike and bike and enjoy Taos

We had a great family vacation and really enjoyed our stay here. The house is fantastic, everything we hoped for, and exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy the property, and seeing the Milky Way from the hot tub was a special treat at night. We had excellent communication with the owner and our stay was extremely easy. When we are back in the area again, this will be the first property we will look at to see if it is available..

Great home great location view was magnificent .

The pictures do not do the property justice . The view from the deck and living area is indescribable of the Taos valley and mountain . I have been coming to the Taos area off and on since I was a kid , I’m 59 and have not stayed at a better property than this . Everything was in great working order , the house was stocked with all the essentials that you would ever need , the kitchen is a chefs dream it had all the spices you could ever need . We spent a lot of time at the house just relaxing , hot tub was magnificent . We drove to Abiquiu and explored ghost ranch and Bandelier and of course had to make a trip to OJo Caliente . There is a hidden gem in El Rito called El Farolito is a must stop , not much to look at but the food is out of this world . Location of this house lets you avoid the heavy traffic in the Taos area , Arroyo Seco is a unique little town with several shops you must stop in and explore don’t forget the Taos cow for your ice cream fix . Great house, great views, off the (very) beaten path

The house was great with amazing views, well furnished, well taken care of including having firewood ready for us for the two fireplaces. Though there are neighbors, it's quite private. The 1-lane dirt "road" that the house shares with a dozen other houses will definitely test your suspension - in icy conditions, you'll want 4WD/AWD, and nothing that rides too low or you will bottom out on the many potholes. Everything about the rental was as advertised or better for us.

views over Taos valley

The location and house were ideal for our needs, we will rent it again. We unfortunately had a few items go wrong, driveway plowing was needed to get up the hill, but it snowed that day, and we had to leave a day early due to a visit to the ER after being blindsided from behind by an out of control boarder, but that is a whole other issue. Really enjoyed the views and proximity to both Taos and the ski area.
