★ PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS ★
• Private Pickleball Court: Tucked into a sun-dappled grove of towering ponderosas and graceful aspens right behind the barn — ready for friendly competition any time of day.
• Creekfront Oasis: A beautifully lit, manicured trail winds down to 1,500 feet of private Whychus Creek frontage. In summer, cast a fly rod (bring your 3-weight!), cool off in the shallows, or sink into an Adirondack chair and watch the evening light fade over the water. In July and August, ask us about arranging custom in-creek seating for a one-of-a-kind creekside Happy Hour.
• Conservation Legacy: In partnership with PGE and the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife, we've helped plant nearly 16,000 steelhead smolt to restore this stretch of Whychus Creek for future generations. Your stay is part of that story.
• Luxury Deck & Hot Tub: Soak in the 6-person hot tub under the stars, rinse off in the custom outdoor shower built around a living ponderosa pine (available late spring through fall), or fire up the large gas grill for an al fresco feast.
• Outdoor Firepit: On crisp high-desert evenings, gather around the firepit for s'mores beneath some of the darkest, most star-filled skies in Oregon.
• Lawn Games & Hammocks: Unwind in the backyard hammocks or challenge the group to horseshoes, croquet, cornhole, or ping-pong on the expansive grounds.
• Local Wildlife: Deer, wild turkeys, and our famous resident peacock roam the property year-round — a genuine delight for kids and adults alike.
★ COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATIONS ★
• Master King Suite (Main Floor): Spacious and serene, with a private en-suite bath and direct hot tub access from the bedroom. • Two Queen Bedrooms (Main Floor): Bright, comfortable rooms that share a well-appointed full bath — ideal for kids, siblings, or close friends. • Lower-Level Queen Suite: A fully private retreat with its own full bathroom, direct outdoor access, and a large secondary living room featuring a 70" TV — perfect for movie nights, sports, or when you need a little breathing room.

About the host
Hosted by Chris Crever
My wife and I are based in Portland but we've been coming down to Sisters since we bought this place in 2006. We're outdoor people — hiking, fly fishing, that kind of thing — and the high desert just does it for us. Our two boys are grown now, and our English Lab Sammy (14 and still considers this her personal kingdom) rounds out the crew.
We respond fast, we keep the place stocked, and we're easy to reach if anything comes up. We know the property well and we know the area well — so if you want restaurant recs or trail suggestions, just ask. We've had a lot of returning guests over the years, which we take as a good sign.
Why they chose this property
In the mid-1970s, a group of 10 families purchased approximately 25 acres about two miles outside downtown Sisters, with the vision of creating a truly special environment. Lot sizes ranged from 2 to 10 acres, nestled in and around Squaw Creek—now known as Whychus Creek.
Originally built as a single-family residence on 8.5 acres, surrounded by towering ponderosa pines and aspen trees, the home served as a primary residence. By the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was sold to an Australian entrepreneur who fell in love with the region. Seeing the property’s potential as a bed-and-breakfast, he converted it into an 8-bedroom, 6-bath B&B and named it the Australian Outback.
The venture was short-lived, lasting less than five years, before the proprietor returned to Australia. In 1996, a couple from Bend purchased the property, continuing its life as a B&B and renaming it Aspen Meadow Lodge. For the next decade, it served loyal and consistent clientele who appreciated its charm and tranquility.
By 2005, after one of the owners passed away, the surviving spouse found the operation too much to manage alone and decided to sell. We purchased the property in January 2006, returning it to a single-family home and, eventually, a vacation rental for new and returning guests to enjoy.
Past stories and memories live on, captured in the two signs that remain with the property today—a small but meaningful reminder of its rich history.
What makes this property unique
WHERE TRANQUILITY MEETS ADVENTURE — THE PERFECT BLEND OF PRIVACY & CONVENIENCE
Nestled on 8.5 acres of serene high-desert land, Aspen Meadow Lodge is a premium retreat where nature and luxury seamlessly meet. Surrounded by groves of whispering aspens, towering ponderosa pines, and unobstructed views of North Sister, the lodge offers total privacy while remaining less than two miles from downtown Sisters.
The charm lies in its perfect balance of peaceful seclusion and resort-style recreation. In the cooler months, gather around the outdoor firepit to stargaze. In the summer, unwind in the backyard hammocks or head down to Whychus Creek. With advance notice in July and August, we can even arrange custom in-creek seating for the ultimate water-side "Happy Hour" experience.
Enjoy exclusive access to 1,500 feet of private creek frontage, challenge family to a match on your private pickleball court, or soak in the 6-person hot tub. For a uniquely Oregon touch, rinse off in our seasonal outdoor shower built right around a living ponderosa pine on the back deck.
