About this property
Thanksgiving Escape: 8+ Acre Waterfront Home w/ Mountain Views & Pickleball Fun!
Welcome to Aspen Meadow Lodge – Your Private Oregon Escape!
Nestled in a large aspen grove just under two miles from downtown Sisters, Aspen Meadow Lodge sits on 8.5 acres of serene privacy. This 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath, 3,200 sq. ft. retreat comfortably hosts up to 2 families or 4 couples (max 8–10 guests) and offers a true four-season getaway.
Nature & Wildlife
Step onto the meandering path to 1,500 feet of private Whychus Creek frontage. Summer fishing is incredible—bring your 3-weight rod! Wildlife abounds: deer, wild turkeys, and even a resident neighborhood peacock roam the property year-round. In 2025, we partnered with PGE and ODFW to plant nearly 16,000 steelhead smolt, helping restore the creek for future generations.
Fun & Relaxation
In spring 2022, we added a private pickleball court tucked behind the barn, surrounded by aspens and ponderosas. In fall 2025, the back deck was expanded, a 6-person hot tub installed, and a one-of-a-kind outdoor shower built around a towering ponderosa was added (available late spring through early fall). Whether you’re soaking in the hot tub, rinsing off in the shower, or enjoying a game of pickleball, there’s something for everyone.
Comfortable Accommodations
Main Floor: Master king bedroom with private bath & hot tub access; two queen bedrooms sharing a full bath
Lower Level: Queen bedroom with private bath and direct outdoor access
Kitchen & Dining: Fully equipped kitchen; dining room seats 8 (expandable with extra leaf)
Entertain & Enjoy
The spacious back deck (summer & fall) is perfect for wildlife watching or mountain views. Fire up the large gas grill—it can cook 2 racks of ribs, 6 burgers, and 8 bratwurst at once! Extra propane is stored in the garage.
Four-Season Adventures
Spring & Summer: Hiking, biking, fishing, river trips, Three Creeks Lake, Tam McArthur Rim
Fall: Leaf-peeping, crisp mornings, wildlife spotting
Winter: Skiing at Hoodoo or Mt. Bachelor, snowshoeing, cozy fires, magical snow-covered scenery
Winter Season Check-In/Out Flexibility
During the 2025–26 winter season, we’re happy to offer more flexible check-in and check-out times. Instead of the standard 11 AM checkout, guests are invited to linger into the early afternoon on their departure day—subject to availability. Whether you’d like to enjoy one last soak in the hot tub, a leisurely breakfast, or a final stroll along the creek, we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule whenever possible.
Important Notes
Aspen Meadow Lodge is not available for weddings or large gatherings. Maximum guests: 8. HOA rules enforce a $5,000 fine for violations.

About the host
Hosted by Chris Crever
My wife and I live in Portland, OR and are avid outdoor enthusiasts. We have 2 boys who are now in their mid 20's and our 13 year old English Lab that round out our family. We try and spend our free time down in Sisters when time permits and welcome the opportunity to share Aspen Meadow Lodge with new and returning guests.
Why they chose this property
In the mid-1970s, a group of 10 families purchased approximately 25 acres about two miles outside downtown Sisters, with the vision of creating a truly special environment. Lot sizes ranged from 2 to 10 acres, nestled in and around Squaw Creek—now known as Whychus Creek.
Originally built as a single-family residence on 8.5 acres, surrounded by towering ponderosa pines and aspen trees, the home served as a primary residence. By the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was sold to an Australian entrepreneur who fell in love with the region. Seeing the property’s potential as a bed-and-breakfast, he converted it into an 8-bedroom, 6-bath B&B and named it the Australian Outback.
The venture was short-lived, lasting less than five years, before the proprietor returned to Australia. In 1996, a couple from Bend purchased the property, continuing its life as a B&B and renaming it Aspen Meadow Lodge. For the next decade, it served loyal and consistent clientele who appreciated its charm and tranquility.
By 2005, after one of the owners passed away, the surviving spouse found the operation too much to manage alone and decided to sell. We purchased the property in January 2006, returning it to a single-family home and, eventually, a vacation rental for new and returning guests to enjoy.
Past stories and memories live on, captured in the two signs that remain with the property today—a small but meaningful reminder of its rich history.
