Modern English Basement
This apartment is set up for all of your traveling needs. There are two separate bedrooms and one bathroom. First bedroom has a queen-sized bed. Second bedroom has a day bed that converts to a full-sized bed and dedicated workspace should you need a space to work. Or if you’re here to relax, the living room is set up perfectly for Netflix on the 65” smart TV and a cozy couch to make yourself comfortable.
You also have your own kitchen supplied with cooking and dining essentials and a dining space for four. Or opt to pick up take-out from one of the popular restaurants in the area, such as 2 Amy’s, one of the first local Neapolitan pizzerias, or Heritage India, traditional North Indian food.
In the mornings, either fuel up with a quick nespresso (provided by us), or take your time with a French press, traditional drip coffee, or a cup of tea.
Clean fresh linen including hand towels, bath towels, kitchen towels, and sheets for queen bed and daybed are always provided. Should you need to do laundry during your stay, your own washer/dryer is ready for your personal use.
A starter pack of the following paper products and toiletries are provided upon your arrival: toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, cleaning supplies, dish soap, dishwashing detergent, trash bags, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, make-up remover towelettes, and other odds and ends depending on availability.
Guest access: The entire 1,000 square foot English basement apartment, which includes a living and dining area, full kitchen, two separate bedrooms, a bathroom with tub, and the enclosed side patio.
Parking: We are able to provide a guest street parking permit provided that we are given notice to get the permit. We require the following information for the guest permit: (1) The name and address of the visitor using the permit, and (2) The state and tag number of the visitor’s vehicle. Without the parking permit, there is a two-hour limit during the week between the hours of 7AM-8:30PM M-F.
Children: Although we allow children and do provide some children’s dining items, unfortunately our space is not set up to be child-proof at this time.
Identification: We reserve to right to verify identification upon check-in.

Great location. Close to excellent dining options. Great proximity to the National cathedral. Very safe neighborhood. The host Lina is very communicative and thorough. parking pass was provided electronically and a huge help. The English basement was a great size and easily accessible. Design was beautiful. Lina provides many amenities that others do not. We were very happy with the coffee, the basics for the kitchen and all the extras in the bathroom. Linens were provided and comfortable. Everything was above and beyond, will definitely visit again. Do yourself a favor and look no further!
A block from Massachusetts Ave, two blocks from restaurants and a grocery store but on a tree-lined residential street. The flat is a few steps down from ground level, very clean and well-appointed. I would certainly stay there again if in the area.
Our family enjoyed our stay - this upscale apartment was perfectly appointed with laundry, kitchen items, bath supplies, extra towels and sheets. We used this as a base for our daily outings. Conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and American University. Our family will be back!
We felt right at home in this beautiful apartment. It was super clean and comfortable. It had a well equipped kitchen and the added bonus of a coffee pot and Nespresso. We loved the neighborhood which has great restaurants, shopping, supermarket, pharmacy all within walking distance. The hosts were very responsive. I highly recommend this apartment!
We had a wonderful stay in DC and this apartment was in a perfect location. It sleeps 4 perfectly. The extra 2 people sleep on an air mattress. It worked fine.
Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Close to some good restaurants and Giant Food Store. Close to American University.
My only suggestion would be to add twin beds to the second bedroom for more sleeping arrangements - my young adult children do not want to share a bed any longer.
The hosts have thought of every detail whether it is coffee options for the morning or a forgotten toothbrush. The property is very charming along a tree-lined street with well-matched decor throughout the entire apartment. We loved having the space to stretch out and enjoy all the amenities. We were walking distance to a great cafe and really close to AU for visits with family. Street parking was never an issue. We will definitely be staying here again.

We had a wonderful experience at Lina’s beautiful apartment! We can’t recommend highly enough. The unit was phenomenal - spotlessly clean, beautifully remodeled and furnished, and very well-appointed with everything we needed (well-stocked kitchen, linens, toiletries, etc). The location is fantastic - quick walk to great restaurants and a grocery store and pharmacy, and of course very central to all that DC has to offer. Lina was an excellent host - incredibly responsive, helpful, and accommodating. We can’t wait to stay again the next time we are in town!

Modern, clean and comfortable. Good communication from host. Absolutely no problems. Would be perfect if traveling with young children, high chair kids dishes etc.
We stayed for a month in order to figure out if DC is the right move for us. During our stay Lina and Ravi were wonderful hosts: incredibly communicative, kind, and helpful. The property was charming and so convenient. It was very walkable, close to the Cathedral, restaurants, and a grocery store, so that we didn't feel the need for a car. The property itself was clean, cozy, and modern with an incredible TV and sound system. 10/10, we'd do it again.

I stayed at this property while on a work trip with my mother and six-month old son. It was very nice,modern, and clean, and included a number of nice-to-have amenities, such as a fully stocked kitchen, starter toiletries, comfortable linens, etc. There was even a high chair for my son. The hosts were responsive and provided a resident street parking permit upon request. The check-in process was seamless. The property is in a wonderful location, close to a large Giant grocery store and several restaurants. It is also in a lovely neighborhood to walk around. I would highly recommend this apartment.
