Thank you for choosing our lodge for your birthday trip — we’re honored to have been part of such a special celebration! We’re so glad you had a great week, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime. Safe travels until next time!
We had an amazing stay and couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend the holidays with family. The home was spacious, comfortable, and had a wonderful ambience, cozy, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing together. Everything was well-maintained, and the setting made it easy to unplug and enjoy quality time. The only thing that would have made the stay absolutely perfect would have been a hot tub on site, especially after winter days outdoors/skiing, and switching out the full beds for queens… it was a bit . Overall, a fantastic experience and a place we’d happily return to!

Thank you so much for the lovely review. I’m truly glad you had such a relaxing and enjoyable holiday stay — that’s exactly the experience we hope every guest has.
I also appreciate your feedback. Just to clarify for future stays, the beds are queen-sized, though I understand bed proportions can sometimes feel different depending on room layout and bedding.
And great news — a hot tub is indeed coming soon! We completely agree that it’s the perfect addition after winter adventures.
Thank you again for staying with us. We’d absolutely love to host you again on your next visit.
The house was amazing. Clean, fully stocked kitchen with all the cooking needs. Most just have the basics but not Black bear. Nice linens, great pillows, games, movies and sports stuff for the kids. We were greeted with a beautiful decorated Christmas tree and a hot cocoa snack package. Can’t recommend LuAnn and Black bear enough!!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear the house worked well for your family — especially the kitchen and the holiday touches. We love helping guests feel at home during Christmas, and it’s great to know the cocoa, games, and linens were appreciated. You were a pleasure to host and we’d be delighted to welcome you back anytime!
Black Bear Lodge was a perfect spot for a reunion of old high school friends. We loved enjoying all Montana has to offer in the day and relaxing at the Lodge at night. LuAnn was a great host!
Nice place. Wifi & internet is limited. Close to town.

It was wonderful to host you! I am sorry the router went out during your stay. Spectrum is getting us a new one tomorrow and we will be back to our usual fast internet again.
Our stay at the cabin was absolutely perfect. We were able to drive to a reasonable distance to glacier national Park and experience the beautiful surroundings of nature. All the amenities in the home where everything we needed and then some. Truly, a dream come true.
We had the place for 4 days, we liked everything about it, location, setup, sitting outside in front of the little pond.. all and all highly we had a great time at this place
We had 12 older guys who booked LuAnn’s place for four days to play golf. It was great although a little tight for that many. Her place is well equipped and has great views of the pond. We had a fire one night and it was fun. Location is amazing. Close to everything. Lu Ann responds quickly and wants to make your stay enjoyable. We loved our stay and would most certainly come back.
The accomodations were amazing. Plenty of room, well appointed, great location - close to town but in an isolated, quiet setting. We loved it and will definitely be back!
Great place in a quiet beautiful setting for our family ski trip. Quick to town of Whitefish and ski hill. House has everything you could need with a very well stocked kitchen and LuAnn was an amazing host.
We have been staying at this property every year for an annual hockey tournament and we are never disappointed. Plenty of space for all of us, great location, well kept property and exceptional response time from the host for any questions we had.
We will definitely be staying again and will be recommending to anyone looking for a getaway in Montana with a larger group.
A beautiful property with a very accommodating host. It’s perfect for family getaways! it was very clean and a wonderful place to have my family stay for my wedding. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Great location, great property and very clean and fully stocked
The cabin was exactly how the pictures showed it. Very clean, great location, well appointed with everything we needed. Close to Glacier, Whitefish and Kalispell for quick groceries or dining options! Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

We think our location is one of the best. We are centrally located to everything, like you said easy access to food, farmers markets, fishing,Glacer park, Big Mountain, downtown Whitefish, FCA airport and the train station. We love that you can be tucked away on this private resort with big lawns and plenty of space to spread out yet hop in the car and be on the lake, golfing, ziplining, rafting, and hiking within 15-30 minutes, less time in the car means more time having fun and that's what we are all about. Thank you so much for your appreciation and wonderful review.
Great location on a fantastic property. We got to meet LuAnn and get a private tour of the property. She's great.
Would absolutely stay there again. Probably use the big cabin 18 people its awesome.
When I came to this area on Vacation I couldn't find anything this area didn't offer. Everyday here is a great adventure and I enjoy sharing the beauty of this place with our guests. There is never a lack of something to do. On a perfect summer day you can golf, whitewater raft and hike long before it gets dark. You can have as much solitude as you wish or as much adventure as you can possibly handle.
Why they chose this property
After traveling through all the National Parks in the US, I was captivated by the beauty of Glacier National Park. The pristine rivers, blue lakes and endless outdoor recreation was something I had looked for in a town. Formally a Lake Tahoe resident, my wish list included finding a place like Lake Tahoe was 20 years ago. I wanted a ski town and lake town with Year round outdoor activities. When I came here and saw Glacier National Park.It was more then I had ever dreamed of finding in one place. I moved here 2 years later.
What makes this property unique
I chose this location to put you right in the middle of it all. You are only a few minutes from the trains and airport. A few minutes to the shopping, two downtown areas, Big Mountain ski resort and Glacier National Park. Although Whitefish lake is beautiful there are many smaller lakes and rivers to enjoy. The house itself lets you have privacy, open family areas but is a short ride to all the things I just mentioned.
