Beautiful setting, easily settled in, had all the comforts of home but we were on vacation! Great location for daily outings in the Damariscotta area. Jennifer and Tom are great people to know and went out of their way to make our experience memorable. Highly recommend Trudy's Place

Thanks so much Jay and Jennifer for your kind review. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and we really appreciate the way you left Trudy's Place-very clean!
We hope to see you both again soon and we too enjoyed your company.
We had a wonderful vacation and hope we can go back in the near future. We love being on the river and the town really exceeded expectations on the dining front as well as just walking around & shopping. There are so many trails within a short drive and the location is great for launching out for half or full day trips to many popular places. But actually just like being on the river and this is a special and happy house, we felt at home.
Beautiful location and well provisioned kitchen.A variety of restaurants, nature spots/hikes, and local history are all minutes away.Strongly recommend taking a day to rest and relax and enjoy the serene views fom the house and deck. Unplug, and enjoy! Gracious hosts live close by and are very helpful.

This house is in the perfect location. Right down the road from the center of Damariscotta and short day trips to a large number of fun locations to visit. It was clean and the kitchen is incredibly well stocked and organized. The location on the water is beautiful with great views.

We were very happy with our place. It was so well decorated and had everything we needed.
Having the Anderson across the street was a real plus.
I highly recommend this property.

This was our second stay at Trudi’s Place. Heaven on earth. Tom and Jennifer are fantastic hosts. We spent lots of time with our own kayaks on the river. Paddled to town as well as points south. The house is beautifully appointed and has a very well stocked beautiful kitchen. Great views. Comfy in every way.

This was our third summer staying at Trudi's Place and, just as before, we had a wonderful time. It was a pleasure to meet up with our hosts, Tom and Jennifer, again. Their special touches to the property and overall courtesies were very much appreciated. The Deck style house was perfect for our family with plenty of space for gathering as well as quiet places for reading and daydreaming. We especially enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen, wrap-around deck, comfy beds, and proximity to Damariscotta shops and area lobster pounds. A real treat!

Sherrill, thanks for your great review. You and family are always welcome and we will continue to add new features to your stay. Hope you can join us again in 2026. In the meantime, stay safe!
This was our second summer stay at the house. There is so much to do in the area, convenient shopping and creature comforts but feels like a quiet get away. This year, right from the deck we saw deer, an eagle, crane and other wildlife.

Wow! Good for you! Haven't seen a deer down our way for a while. Hope to see you again next year!
We stayed in this lovely home over Columbus Day week. The home was perfect and we enjoyed a blend of eating in, cooking our meals in the wonderfully stocked kitchen as well as meals out in Damariscotta and the numerous towns in easy driving distance. The views and local hikes made a wonderful fall vacation. While we did venture out to some larger, well known parks, out favorites were close by.The local Pumpkin Festival lasts for 3 days, and we did pop in for some of the fun events happening all weekend. It was a perfect way to enjoy small town Maine.Beds were comfortable and the deck was just lovely. It was a wonderful trip to Maine and I would highly suggest this location as a home base.

Very nice week in Damariscotta. The house was extremely well equipped and the host (Tom) could not have been more welcoming and gracious. Tom and his wife live just across the street from the rental property so he was accessible for questions and help. The house was very comfortable, had a nice view, and was convenient to town. Couldn't ask for more for a vacation rental.

Immaculate but comfortable space with amazing vistas from every window. This home is perfectly appointed and nestled at the end of a charming lane with a magical point to sit and gaze at the water. Tom and Jennifer are fabulous hosts!

The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and offers both convenience and privacy. We enjoy cooking, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The open concept afforded lots of light, and the view was lovely. There is lots to do in the area - Pemaquid lighthouse, Coastal Botanical Gardens, galleries, and hiking etc.

Hope you enjoy the Holidays in NYC. Lucky you.
Trudi’s Place exceeded our expectations in every way! Absolutely gorgeous home in a beautiful , quiet neighborhood. Stunning views from inside the house and we also enjoyed seeing bald eagles as we sat on the deck or walked to the nearby rivers edge . Hosts Tom and Jennifer made us feel right at home. Cleanliness was A-1. Home had all of the supplies you would ever need . Very convenient to local shops and restaurants. The neighborhood is very peaceful , on a dead end street, so very quiet . Neighbors were super friendly too. We highly recommend Trudi’s Place and hope to go back there soon! Such a very special place to relax and recharge .
Trudi's Place is charming with tucked away vibe, but only a mile from all the creature comforts of town.
A well-appointed kitchen was one of our favorite features, and we enjoyed the great blend of comfy furnishings and artistic touches.
The veiw of the water was loveliest dawn. We loved that we could escape for a quick trip (25 min)to Pemaquid Beach or just 5 minutes away to the cute shops and restaurants in Darmiscotta.
Jennifer and Tom were gracious hosts!

P.S. Where did you find Thai basil??!!
Tom, the owner, was extremely helpful our entire stay. He asked us for suggestions at the end of the trip, and we really could not think of any. This home has everything, and all utensils and staples you could possibly need. It is clean, cozy, and bright. The King bedroom is a real sanctuary with its comfy bed and beautiful water view. Minutes from the downtown and grocery stores.

Jeannet, thanks so much for your very positive review and kudos again for fulfilling your duties as parents. It sounded like a tough but rewarding contribution. I also want to commend you for leaving Trudi's Place in such immaculate order. It is especially appreciated by us since we have been both fighting a bug. We hope to see you again in the future and we wish your now larger family great health and happiness.
Tom and Jennifer are wonderful hosts. The house is clean, spacious, has large windows that give beautiful views over the river and is stocked with everything you need. The location feels quiet and secluded but is only 5 minutes from town. Tom and Jennifer live right across the street and were so welcoming. It's truly a unique experience to have hosts for a vacation rental be so friendly and welcoming. It was really like staying at a friend's home. It was one of our best vacations ever. I hope to stay again one day soon.

House is fantastic, beautiful view of the river, great light, comfortable and very well stocked. We went out for some meals but also love to cook. It was easy to make great meals with the lobster coops, farmers markets etc. we brought our own kayaks and access to the river was easy, we loved exploring the river this way and paddling to town for lunch was a lot of fun. We saw bald eagles, seals,, osprey and many beautiful birds including a barred owl that we heard at night. We look forward to returning. Tom is very gracious host. We highly recommend it, the peacefulness is unsurpassed.

Thank you Robyn and Joe for the great review. So glad you enjoyed your stay, and Trudi's Place and we look forward to your return in the future. You could start a business showing guests around as you are great explorers!
Tom and Jennifer are excellent hosts and very attentive.
The property is beautiful and very well maintained.
It is a very private location at the tip of a secluded peninsula with a private shoreline to wander at our leisure. But we were only 5 minutes away from "civilization". The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking almost every night, except when we went to nearby Damariscotta for dinner...or lunch...or breakfast. The beds were also very comfortable and much appreciated after active days.
It was a very relaxing and comforting stay which we all much needed and very much enjoyed.
We really loved the Osprey catching their dinner in the river on our last night.

Amazing view, comfortable beds and over the top hospitality!
We came from Florida to experience some Fall weather and to partake in this town’s annual pumpkin festival. The home had everything we needed and more. The accommodations were very comfortable and The hosts were very helpful with all of our questions and needs. We saw lots of seals, birds and chipmunks from the big bay windows over looking the water. We traveled with our two kids and they loved their bedroom and the downstairs extra living room with books and puzzles. We enjoyed exploring the area and even found our own Oysters. Tom helped show us how to prepare them for dinner. If you’re looking for a place in this town look no further this one is the best!

Thanks so much Kelly! So glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope you return soon!
Loved the size of the rooms, from the well-stocked kitchen with room to not bump into others when cooking, to the king bedroom with the terrific mattress, to the deck where the breeze was always blowing. Loved watching the birds feed, the quiet. The loveseats in the living room were comfy, and even though it was summer, on one of the colder nights, I found the
living room fireplace to put out a good deal of warmth.
Would have liked a curtain over the top of the window that over-
looks the king bed, and a few more screens. I also think a few more lights would work wonders in the living area, something like pot lights in the ceiling.

Jane, that so much for your kind review and we are glad that you, Sue and Mike enjoyed yourselves. I appreciate your input re lighting in the living area, but unfortunately, our electrician told us that due to the nature of the ceiling's construction, putting lights into the ceiling would not be possible. We are considering more lighting, however, such as swag or standup in the future.
As to the issue of curtains and screens, we agree and we will be replacing all the windows and sliding doors this late Fall/Winter with new Andersen windows and screens (supply chain issues delayed delivery).
Again, thanks for your considerate and thoughtful input and we are happy that you found Trudi's place to suit your needs.
About the host
Hosted by Tom Anderson and Jennifer Lee
Tom Anderson and Jennifer Lee own and live in the house at 97 Westview (directly across the street) and are available to answer any questions about the home and the area and to assist with any issues. We are permanently retired now in Maine and are originally from California. We offer a complimentary wine tasting, upon request, in our pub on one evening during your stay in our fully equipped Irish pub.
Why they chose this property
This property is directly on the River at the very end of our street and peninsula adjacent to the common turnaround. It is rural, quiet, and is home to a variety of wildlife (e.g., bald eagles, seals, fish, many seabirds, etc.). At the same time it is less than 1.5 miles from the center of town, and near all conveniences such as three supermarkets, Walgreen's, gas stations, shops and restaurants.
What makes this property unique
The most unique aspect of Trudi's Place is its location including its proximity to all of the local Damariscotta Services and Merchants, while being directly on the Damariscotta River in a very rural area. The Damariscotta River produces 80% of the oysters from Maine, that are considered some of the World's best, and they are right on the shore in front of this house!
Rise in the morning directly facing the sunrise and enjoy coffee on the deck directly off the kitchen. We provide a canoe, kayak, and rowboat that are available in season as well as use of a private dock (at our main house at 97 Westview directly across the street from Trudi's Place) for direct river access.
Finally, we offer complimentary cocktails or wine, upon request, in our Irish Pub in our house directly across the street on one night during your stay of 7 days or more.
