The property is located on a private, white sandy beach next to Los Sueños Marriot Resort. After a period of enjoying the villa for ourselves, we started to rent the house this year since we purchased a slightly larger home down the road. Casa Caracola includes 400 square meters of construction (4,300square feet) and is located less than 50 meters (165 feet) from the beach. It shares a pool and deck area with 5 other elegant homes. The well-kept and secure beach is exclusive to the Club de Playa Escondida SA, community under which it is regulated.
The place has the perfect mix of outdoor living and state-of-the-art technology, i.e. high speed internet throughout the house, full cellular signal coverage, central air-conditioning in the main living room, kitchen and all bedrooms. The main story is centered around an outdoor living room with a stately square dining table with comfortable, upholstered chairs which seat 8, next to a relaxed seating area. The 21 X 21 ft ( 7 x 7 mts) main living room has a ¬¬50” LCD HD TV with Apple TV, a supersized coffee-table with drawers full of board games for all ages. Become an ocean-view cook experimenting in beautiful solid cedar kitchen with granite tops and new stainless steel appliances. Take the solid teak stairs down to a large deck with lounge sofas and hammock that face a lush tropical garden and access three 10 ft ceiling bedrooms. The Blue Room has two full beds separated by a soji screen and a large private bathroom. The Aqua Room has a beautiful colonial-style mahogany queen bed, private bathroom and walk-in closet. The Indigo Room has two large spaces separated with a soji-screen. Upon entering there are two twin beds for kids, behind the glass partition we find the master king bed. Both spaces share a large bathroom with two sinks, they each have spacious closets and access to a private deck facing the garden. Additionally, the villa has a two-car garage, plus two separate spaces for cars, a laundry room with washer and dryer, chairs and stuff for the beach. Yet the best is yet to come…. a rooftop terrace to see the sunset over the Pacific, just before the stars stud the dark celestial sphere, if the moon does not fill everything with its white serene luminescence.
The house’s finishes are premium quality. It is built of reinforced concrete, with thick and tall whitewashed walls. Doors, windows, columns and beams, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors and jalousies are made of local almendro hardwood and cedar. Italian porcelanato floors, teak decks, natural-stone-carved sinks in the bathrooms and bamboo ceilings complete the villa´s palette of materials.
Playa Escondida is located less than 2 hours drive from San José’s Juan Santamaría International Airport. It is a secure gated community inside the Marriot Los Sueños Resort, which includes a large marina plus amenities and a paradisiacal 18-hole golf course. It is a few kilometers away from the town of Herradura with its high end supermarket and boutiques, and the city of Jacó Beach where one finds a lively night life, with plenty of restaurants, casinos and shops.
