The Mana Kai Maui Resort uniquely offers all the advantages of a condo vacation, but with the added amenities of a resort hotel. This hotel-style studio with a full bath includes a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. In-room safes and free high-speed WiFi access are also available. Just steps away from the ocean. You'll also have access to two gas grills and laundry facilities available on the property. While our amenities do not include poolside towel service, this room is equipped with beach towels for use at the pool and beach. Take advantage of the resort atmosphere with special features including free parking, a pool, open-air dining with lounge, yoga classes with Maui Yoga Path, a fitness center, an activities center, a gift shop, a general store, a business center with computers, and conference/meeting facilities.

The hotel room was easy to find and get into and was in a great location but the room was dirty. The walls had holes that were “patched” and the bathroom was very gross. The shower was old and stained and the shower head was crusted over. Overall was an okay stay.

We did not have WiFi for the first 24 hours of our stay. I reported the issue immediately after check-in, but it was only resolved after 24 hours — and only after I requested a refund.That means we were without WiFi for more than one-third of our 66-hour booking, which is significant — especially since reliable internet was listed as an amenity.Even after it was restored, the connection was extremely poor. I had work commitments and was forced to leave the property and go to Starbucks to complete my work because the WiFi was unusable. On top of that, paper towel was not provided and didn't get any response after raising the issue.Given the circumstances, I believe a partial refund is reasonable.
We loved the Mana Kai resort but everything about our stay at the unit we rented was disappointing beginning with the check-in process. Our check-in email included no access code and we spent 3 hours tracking down someone I. The phone who could provide one. This unit is managed by Vacasa, not the property’s on-site management company. The Vrbo listing showing a kitchen, dining and living area is completely misleading. This is one room- like an old holiday inn room with dirty carpet and peeling paint and a microwave and dorm fridge in the closet. The adjoining unit has a full kitchen, living and dining area and waterfront balcony. This unit has none of those. There are many nicer, more updated units in this building. I would avoid this one.

We appreciate your preference as a means to improve, and we also forwarded your comments regarding the cleanliness issue along with our property management to ensure that more attention to detail is made when cleaning the home between reservations. First the good: the location cannot be any better. Mana Kai is right on Maui’s top beaches. Second, unit actually looks better in life than the pictures show. It was clean and the bedding was clean as were the towels . Now for the bad: 1.) there’s no place to sit there’s a desk and it only has one chair, if you want to eat anything you have to sit on the floor or the bed. 2) no parking- it says dedicated parking space but that’s a lie, once you sign up and pay your email will say that you’re parking on a gravel lot. Which also serves as public parking for the beach. So you’re out of luck on parking if it’s a busy beach day. We had to walk with all of our belongings. 3) there was no internet, it said in the instructions that there’s WiFi but the described WiFi network was not available. Our door code unexpectedly stopped working on the first day at night but I do have to give credit to the rental company we called their after hours service and got an actual human on the phone who was able to reset the code for us. The price is the cheapest you’ll find at Mana Kai but keep in mind this unit faces the back parking lot only. It’s an ok basic place if you’re not wanting a dedicated parking space or internet. You will be right on the beach.

Big disappointment ...
The description of the room was misleading.
I am a positive person and an extensively experienced traveler but I was not pleased with this VRBO experience.
It was described as having a kitchen which was false. There was no kitchen. Couldn't even describe it as having a kitchenette. The mini fridge and microwave took up a 1/3 of the closet. Cuisinart coffee maker was not supplied with appropriate pods which are not widely available at the supermarket. There wasn't proper cleaning sponge to clean the dishes. The shampoo supplies were scant and lasted a fraction of my 8 day stay.
The condition of the room is dated which contrasts with the recently renovated lobby and common grounds. The room is in sore need of renovation: worn out finish and decor including bathtub.
Stained white towels which need thorough bleaching or replacement.
I shared this experience with VRBO early on during my stay but still have not received a response.
The big plus was the excellent location and quality of the common grounds.
Unfortunately, this experience makes me wary of VRBO during my future travel arrangements.

Great location. I love Mana Kai. However, this room needed extra or a deep cleaning. Ceiling fan needs cleaning. In addition, room needs to be treated by an exterminator. We did see a couple of bugs. I expected to have a lanai. It didn’t have one. Perhaps, description should be a bit more clearer.

Nice condo right on beach with pool and convenience store on site. Room small as described but you’re spending time on beach, not inside.
Areas for improvement are punch code for entry...like 8 numbers/numericals to remember, good luck after a few drinks, NO instructions like how to operate internet, password, where to park car, how to get parking sticker. I had no idea beach towels were stashed away until I was checking out, etc. These are easy fixes. Room rate here on AirBnB a fraction of what rack rates are thru condo association. I would stay again.
