About this property
Fawn Creek Cabin
Summary:
Escape to Fawn Creek Cabin, nestled in the tranquil woods of Edelweiss. With scenic views and cozy interiors, this retreat accommodates up to 6 guests. Enjoy the wood-burning stove, well-equipped kitchen, and outdoor gas grill. Pets welcome (1 dog only). Accessible via dirt road, AWD recommended in winter.
The Space:
Retreat to the tranquility of Fawn Creek Cabin, nestled in the woods of the Edelweiss community. This secluded getaway offers stunning vistas of Lucky Jim's Bluff and the Methow Valley. The main floor features a practical mudroom at the entry, with a convenient laundry area. A hallway guides you into the open kitchen and dining area, ideal for preparing and enjoying home-cooked meals. Adjacent to the dining area, the cozy living room welcomes you with a wood-burning stove, creating a warm ambiance for quiet evenings indoors.
The cabin sleeps 6 guests in three bedrooms. Upstairs, find the primary bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a second bedroom with a bunk bed unit (best suited for young children, not adults). On the lower level, there is an additional bedroom with a queen-sized bed.
The cabin features two bathrooms, with a tub upstairs and a shower downstairs. Other amenities include a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, telephone, and TV for entertainment. Outside, take advantage of the outdoor gas grill for al fresco dining amidst the forested surroundings. Guests should note that access to the cabin is via a dirt road. In winter all-wheel drive vehicles are recommended for safe travel to and from the cabin.
The Neighborhood:
The Edelweiss community sits above Goat Creek Road and the Methow River, nestled between Winthrop and Mazama. It is a dispersed woodland community featuring cabins, vacation homes, and permanent residences, all bordered by the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
'Downtown' Mazama, boasting the Store, Trailhead, Inn Restaurant, and Pub, is 10-minute drive or a 20-30 minute bike ride from the cabin. The closest trailhead for the Methow Trails network is the Suspension Bridge Trailhead, granting access to the Upper Valley trails year-round.
Getting Around:
Getting here:
May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over highway 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions).
