We loved this house. We had lots of room for our party of 9 and had everything we needed when we arrived. The house was beautiful and very clean. We would definitely stay here again!

So glad y’all enjoyed your stay! Come back anytime!
My wife, our 3 children, my elderly mother, our mini schnauzers and I stayed at this mountain home for a week in late June / early July 2025. The home was perfect for us. We enjoyed the home and all the amenities that Big Canoe has to offer. The home was well-stocked, clean, and decorated perfectly. Also the owner was very communicative, responsive and helpful!Highly recommend!
Our week at Five Bears in Big Canoe was amazing overall!! The house is so comfortable and perfect for the 7 of us. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, it was the cozy comfort we were all seeking. Can’t wait to return and enjoy another season at Big Canoe. Thanks to our gracious host for making it so easy.

Congratulations to you and your family! So glad you enjoyed your stay!
We had a great time staying at Big Canoe for our family reunion. The house was spacious enough for our family of 9. The carriage house was perfect for our son and his wife and their baby where she could take naps away from the noise. The only reason I put 4 stars was the upstairs bathroom was dirty and leftover taco shells were in the oven when we got there but other than that we enjoyed our stay
This home was perfect for our long over due vacation. There were so many decks and areas for family gather or escape! The linens were first class and home stayed very comfortable even with 3 families going in and out. The galley kitchen is a tad snug but I enjoyed it because it kept everyone out while I cooked! Don’t forget to get down to the Marina those guys were awesome! Five Bears is a must for families who want quiet relaxing getaway!
We traveled to Big Canoe for a family wedding with a large contingent of family. This home was exactly as described, maybe even more. Everyone felt comfortable and took full advantage of the many nooks and crannies both outdoors and indoors. Allison is a terrific host who answered any question quickly making our stay all the easier. Should we ever return to Big Canoe, even if there aren’t as many of us as there were this trip, we know where we’ll be staying.

Thank you for your kind words and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay! You are welcome back any time. Cheers!
Five Bears Cabin was just what we were looking for!
We had my daughter's 16th birthday weekend at Five Bears and it was absolutely AMAZING! The cabin was even more beautiful than the pictures and was stocked with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen supplies made it so easy to prepare and cook meals. The huge table was perfect for meals and board games. We LOVED the cozy cabin rooms each with classy décor! The cabin had lots of space and fun places to hang out. There's even a nice fire pit on the back deck. Our host, Allison went above and beyond as she answered all my questions! (I so appreciate her kindness and quick responses!) Her directions to the upper and lower waterfalls made our trip extra special! (Definitely go see the falls!) The girls also loved the indoor pool and hot tub! Thank you for a weekend that will forever be a favorite memory.

Julie! Thank you so much for your glowing review. I have a huge smile on my face knowing your daughter's 16th birthday was so special. Come back anytime!
The house was lovely, and the neighborhood was amazing. The house was well stocked with all the needed supplies for us to have a wonderful Thanksgiving . There were 8 of us, and we could always find a place to be alone if we chose. We loved it.
The five bears cabin was exactly what we needed for our staycation getaway. The pictures don't do it justice because the light makes everything look magical. There was enough room for everyone to spread out but not to much to feel isolated. Getting there can be stressful to some, but I loved the views and scenic drive up there. Being able to bring our furbabies really makes it feel like a home away from home. Would definitely book again!
We used this for the bridal party for a wedding. Perfect for hosting a bridal brunch, plenty of areas to gather yet still adequate privacy when needed. Plenty of bathrooms and comfortable beds. The sunroom/dining room was used for brunch and it was absolutely beautiful! The kitchen was well stocked and had all we needed. The house is high up in the mountain, so be aware of a winding, uphill drive. Allison was great with communication and a lovely host!
This was the perfect house for our family vacation to Big Canoe. The house was very clean and the community had a lot of amenities for the whole family.
The home is located in Big Canoe - a mountain community with a pool, beach with water sports, hiking trails, golf, and more, with some amenities at an additional cost. The home is good for multiple families to enjoy time together in a small living room and casual dining space and another beautiful large-windowed dining room on the main level, a lower level with an additional living space and a ping pong table, but also has bedrooms and bathrooms and spread out on separate levels for quiet down time. Guests should be aware that the house is located in the mountains and roads are very winding and steep in places. The kitchen is tight but had everything we needed for meals. We enjoyed the home and the community!
Property is great and the house is lovely with comfortable beds & clean linens. It feels like you're staying in a luxury tree house - so many windows with great views of the outdoors. To stay in Big Canoe was nice but the visitor information was misleading. You pay for everything you want to do and everywhere you want to go. The golf clubhouse has terrible service with a poor quality of food.
Property was beautiful and spacious enough for our family. The hosts made sure there was plenty of firewood for the fireplace. Allison was available for all questions and concerns. The house is located 10 minutes up the mountain and so you have to drive to reach the hiking trails and other activities as walkability is limited around the house. All in all, this was a nice vacation for our spring break.
We loved staying at Five Bears! The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Allison was very helpful before and during our stay! One tip: use the paper map to get around—gps is not as reliable.
Winding, curvy, steep road within a gated resort lead to this beautiful home high on the mountain. Parking was challenging as we had 5 cars and only 4 spots (with creative maneuvering.) We were allowed to leave one car at the chapel parking lot which worked out fine. There are 2 bedrooms on the top level of the home but you have to walk through one to get to the other, a little awkward for middle of the night bathroom trips. The room over the garage is adorable but could use curtains for some privacy. Over all, a well equipped, clean, comfortable and easily large enough for the 10 adults in my family that stayed there.

Five Bears was the most unique cabin home my family and I have stayed in the Big Canoe community. We fell in love with this cabin, the decor, and layout. The beds/furniture were comfortable, plenty of firewood provided. We were happy with our vacation home selection. There was enough to keep us entertained when choosing to stay in as well as plenty of activities, trails to walk when venturing out.
We definitely recommend Five Bears for your next stay in Big Canoe! Thank you Allison for everything! We appreciate you keeping in contact with us! Booking through Expedia & VRBO was easy so if you don't already have the app download it because it provides an efficient way to communicate with the property and have your reservation information/itinerary accessible at anytime.
