A former 18th-century sheepfold that has just been carefully renovated and decorated. The Mouton cottage is located in a peaceful, charming little village in the Gâtinais region, in the heart of the Loiret countryside and just 1 hour from Paris.
Your cottage can comfortably accommodate 6 people with complete privacy. It is adjacent to the superb 100-hectare, 18-hole golf course at Château d’Augerville (5*), where the wildlife (deer, wild boars, otters, foxes, hares, and more) and flora are perfectly preserved and protected.
Everything you need to relax and unwind is right here;
- Large private garden with parking spaces.
- A heated pool (open from May through September, featuring a sliding hard-shell cover that closes at night and opens in the morning) with a separate changing room and a large stone deck equipped with lounge chairs.
- A pétanque court.
- Bicycles and helmets provided free of charge.
- A ping-pong table.
- A Bonzini foosball table.
- A large traditional barbecue with charcoal provided.
- A large outdoor terrace with an electric awning for enjoying meals.
- Full lighting for the terrace and garden.
As for sports activities around the property, in addition to the superb 18-hole course set in the heart of nature at the renowned neighbouring golf club (which also features a restaurant, a spa, and even a chocolate shop!), you can enjoy lovely bike rides through the fields or along the banks of the Essonne River, several hiking trails in the area (GR32 and PR Jacques Cœur) in search of old 19th-century washhouses and mills, rock climbing on the cliffs of the Fontainebleau Forest or in the Trois Pignons Forest, not to mention the opportunity to go horseback riding with our friends at the Fidelis Stables in Achères-la-Forêt and to try a tree-top adventure course in Milly-la-Forêt. Cultural activities are plentiful as well, such as a visit to the Château de Fontainebleau (the actual residence of the kings of France!), exploring the famous painters of the Barbizon School, the Château de Courances, the Orville beekeeping school and its delicious honey made by the bees of the Gâtinais region, and the wonderful Printing Museum in Malesherbes—to name just a few.
All the shops you need are available in the nearby town of Puiseaux, 5 km away (Intermarché, pharmacy, bakery, butcher shop, supermarket…).
Dogs are welcome on the ground floor of the house only, with an additional cleaning fee (a dog bed without a cushion and food bowls are provided).
We’re giving you free rein, so go ahead and open the door!
