About this property
20% off weekly/monthly Winter time! Relaxing, family-friendly home on the Gulf!
If you are looking for a laid-back, uncrowded beach vacation to make special memories with your family and friends then this is the place for you! Our home is located on the Gulf side of the Indian Pass Peninsula between the quaint towns of Port St. Joe and Apalachicola, each town being an easy 15+ minute drive in each direction. Our casual and fun beachfront home has a kitchen/living room combo on main floor (1st floor) and the living room has a King size day bed if extra sleeping space is needed and a 65" Smart TV. Off of the living room is a large deck with a beautiful, unobstructed view, 5 Adirondack chairs and a 4 person dining table. Our kitchen has plenty of dishes and silverware, items for baking, Insta-pot, large stock pot, and basics such as toaster, microwave, a drip coffee pot and a kuerig. A laundry room is beside the kitchen. The main floor also has 2 Queen bedrooms each with a full bathroom (one bath has shower/tub combo the other a walk-in shower). The 2nd floor consist of a King Master bedroom with sundeck containing 2 chaise lounges with Sunbrella cushions and full bath with walk-in shower. Upstairs you will also find the 3rd Queen bedroom with a full bath and walk-in shower. All bedrooms have Sleep Number beds (or equivalent). Outside at the carport you will find the grill, a 6 person dining set and 4-5 person seating area with a 55" outdoor tv all under string lights.
Many people come to Indian Pass for the laid back vibe and relaxation, but if you need a little more to do there are plenty of activities in the area. Presnell's Marina & Boat Rentals (@10 minutes toward PSJ) offers kayaks, paddle boards, day boats and pontoons for rent for a day of fishing or just cruising in the bay! They also provide boat storage per day if needed for your own boat. How about a nature hike on an unspoiled island? St. Vincent Island is next to Indian Pass and you can access it by a shuttle service offered daily (weather permitting) at the Indian Pass Campground (2-3 minutes past our house). Take a nature hike, bird watch, go shelling or walk the sandy shores! For an extra fee the shuttle will transport your bike. Is golf your game? Check out the 18 hole course at the St. Joseph Bay Country Club. A restaurant is on site as well as a large public pool. (@ 12 minutes drive). If horseback riding on the beach is something you have always wanted to try there are several highly recommended stables available that should provide a great experience for you! (Most leave from Cape San Blas (@10 minutes drive). Interested in fishing or a sunset cruise? There are numerous fishing charters available in the area as well as scalloping and snorkeling trips! Guests have had great experiences with Aqua Bear Snorkeling trips. (Most leave from Presnell's Marina or Cape San Blas area). If you love history and want a bird's eye view of Port St. Joe, climbing the steps of the Cape San Blas lighthouse (in PSJ), touring the light keeper's quarters and visiting The Constitution Convention Museum State Park may interest you. Antiques, boutiques and unique shops line the streets of Apalachicola on the bay along with local eateries. Port St. Joe also offers clothing boutiques, unique shops, home decor and delicious locally owned restaurants. Some favorites are: The Uptown Indian Pass Raw Bar and Grill for a steak & a great low country boil! Provisions offers a savory variety of seafoods, pastas, etc. Joe Mama's Wood Fired Pizzas are delish, awesome salads too! Visit the new location of Peppers Mexican Grill for a variety of Mexican dishes, The Brick Wall Sports Bar for fish tacos & burgers & Krazy Fish (try the Dancing Goat Cheese Balls!) If you are looking for dinner with a view check out Hunt's, a new restaurant with beautiful views at sunset overlooking the bay next to Presnell's Marina (and the closest restaurant to our house besides the Indian Pass Trading Post). Shipwreck Raw Bar at St. Joe Beach has many seafood choices, really good and a great breakfast too! (@30 minutes drive) Speaking of breakfast, The Donut Shop in PSJ opens at 6:00 am but get in line early as they usually sell out! For a unique breakfast bar or lunch serving Southern comfort food give the Sand Dollar Cafe a try! (Closed Tuesday & Wed). Don't forget to give the well known Indian Pass Raw Bar & Trading Post a try if you love oysters & shrimp! Want seafood without dining out? A local seafood shop beside Presnell's Marina should have what you are hungry for to enjoy a nice seafood dinner on the deck watching the sunset. If you are looking for chain restaurants all you will find here is McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell & Hungry Howie's. So, if you think you will miss high rises, bumper to bumper traffic, crowded beaches, busy shopping malls and restaurants with 3 hour waits then this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, book your vacation with us and plan to enjoy an easy going, Old Florida style getaway along the Forgotten Coast!
