My husband and I stayed here one night while visiting Mammoth Cave and it perfectly suited our needs. The property was quiet, the bed was comfortable and it was reasonably close to Mammoth Cave National Park. We would stay here again if we ever return to the area.
We enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was clean, cozy, and nicely furnished. I also appreciated it was private with a small fenced-in front yard. Check-in was easy. It’s also conveniently located to Mammoth Caves (about a 20 minute drive to the visitors center).
Lovely stay at a thoughtfully nammed property. I appreciated staying in a private, unique rental instead of a hotel chain full of noisy kids. The Hickory and Bee property was a quiet, comfortable place to unwind. I never slept better away from home!
This was a wonderful place to stay while visiting mammoth cave. Myself and my boyfriend stayed here and we loved it. It is quiet and peaceful while still being close to Mammoth Cave. We also loved the town, it has a cute coffee shop just up the street from this place and many small, local places to eat. We went to Cave City to see some things and we drove away feeling so happy we stayed here instead of a hotel in Cave City. This place was like a little oasis and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area, especially while visiting Mammoth Cave. Communicating with the host was fast and easy and the place was very clean.
This was a very comfortable apartment. In a quiet, small town near Mammoth Cave. Bowling Green is a short drive through the country. Host was responsive and check in was a breeze. Very comfy bed as well.
Our son got married in Smiths Grove and with very few hotel options nearby, we found this VRBO luckily. It provided exactly what we needed. Super clean, quiet and safe. The bed was very comfortable. The owner was exceptionally responsive to questions. I would definitely recommend this place!
The room was adequately furnished, and the bed was comfortable enough. However, there was an unpleasant odor in the property. The smaller coffee cups are not big enough to use with the Keurig-style coffee maker. I learned this the hard way by overfilling a cup and having to clean up coffee that spilled all over the counter. We had originally planned to spend two nights in the property, but we left on the second evening and drove home instead. Due to the odor, I would not recommend this property.
Stayed here for a weekend trip at mammoth cave, and it was perfect. Bed was so comfy, especially after cave hiking, and the amenities were clean and just what was needed. Super quiet and just the right size. Could not hear the neighbors in the Vrbo next to us. About 20 minutes from the visitor center at mammoth cave (where tours start) and no ferry needed! Only down side was it was a little difficult to find, but I blame that partly on the fact that we got there after dark in pretty heavy rain. Check in and out directions were easy and communicated early. Would stay here again!
Enjoyed our brief stay at the Hickory & Bee! We didn't spend much time there, but everything was clean and decorated nicely. Bed was a little soft for my taste, but that's a personal preference. Overall, well worth the money spent.
Had a very good time in the small little town of Brownsville! Out of the way of any big city, but easy enough to get to Bowling Green or Mammoth Cave National Park and short enough drives to Elizabethtown and Louisville. Enjoyed our stay at the nice little apartment. Had all the amenities that we needed. Also, recommend eating at PJ's Cafe! So if you're looking for a nice place to stay close enough to Bowling Green or the National Park, definitely book the Hickory & Bee.
