About this property
Classic Maine Lakefront Cabin—Private dock, modern updates, 3mi to Camden Harbor
This timeless cabin is located in a secluded cove with spectacular views. The 4-acre property is situated directly on the shore of Megunticook Lake. Our multi-generational retreat is 3 miles from downtown Camden on a private, car-accessible island.
This unique property is the only pet-friendly cabin of its kind on Megunticook lake. The property consists of a main cabin and guest cabin, with three bathrooms and three bedrooms, each with two twin beds and lake views. The main cabin is centered around a great room with vaulted ceilings, fireplace, and Restoration Hardware leather sofas. A dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and primary bedroom suite make up the other rooms. The wraparound porch is perfect for meals, reading, or listening to loon calls. Steps away is the guest cabin with two bedrooms and one adjoining bathroom.
All beds have Brooklinen sheets and down comforters, perfect for a cozy night’s sleep. Each bedroom features A/C and high-speed internet connection.
Enjoy a high-end stereo system which accommodates your device via Bluetooth or go "retro" with a record player and some classic albums.
A path and stairs lead to the private dock, perfect for swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, or other adventures. Our family favorite is jumping off the dock with our dog and swimming around the secluded and sunny cove. The entire property is a nearly 4-acre retreat in a 120-year-old forest with 659-feet of waterfront in a private cove.
ADVENTURES The dock is a perfect place to launch your daily lake adventures. Fishing in early June when the lake is quiet, to paddleboarding and swimming in the summer, or taking the canoe to peep the fall leaves; our family has loved spring, summer and fall. On clear nights, star gazing is spectacular from the dock.
BOATS The property includes a fishing boat, canoe, and two kayaks. Need something else? Maine Sport provides kayak rentals; Maine Boat Company provides speed boats if you want a bit more speed.

Had some issues but not unexpected with the age of the cabin. Host was upfront on the peculiarities of the 100 year old cabin. The gathering spots were very comfortable for family time. The use of the boat was a great perk to check out the fall colors on the lake!

The Cemhops handled minor issues with aplomb. It was a pleasure hosting them.
A very comfy, classic Maine camp. Well-equipped and beautifully situated. Private, and great for lake lovers. Also a great home base for day trips in and around Camden, Lincolnville, Acadia, Boothbay Harbor.
We had a great week on Codman Island. The camp had everything we needed. We spent most of our week on the water, on the dock or hanging on the porch. The cove where the camp is situated was a great place for the kids to paddle and swim. Check in/out were simple. Fred and Libby were very helpful and accommodating when we had questions or requests. The beds were comfortable and fans helped keep us cool in the evenings.
great view of the lake. nice amenities. a bit damp.

Yes, a bit damp. In the 60s, dampness was driven out of the air by the heating needed to stay comfortable. Now it's too hot to turn on the heat. So we plan to install air conditioners at the end of this season. It's hard for me to imagine needing air conditioners in Maine, but that's the way it is now.
Lovely cabin and the perfect location on Megunticook Lake. Ample space for a family with the guest cabin. Fred and Libby were very responsive if we had any questions! Use of the motorboat and kayaks was a definite plus so we didn't have to rent them or bring our own!
We loved our stay on this most beautiful lake-so peaceful and relaxing! Our host promptly responded to our inquiries and his property manager is wonderful, as well!

What a wonderful place! Megunticook Lake is just magical, and the proximity to the town of Camden is ideal. The camp is filled with everything you might need. We had a great week filled with hiking and paddling. We took day trips to Acadia and Rockland, but could have spent the whole week hanging out locally and at the cabin without getting tired of it.
This camp was in a great location - close to Camden on Megunticook Lake. We used the kayaks, canoe and motor/row boat to fish and explore the huge lake. Swimming off the dock in a quiet cove was refreshing. The kitchen had all the necessary items and the large living area and dining tables held all six of us comfortably. Fred's instructions were easy to follow and we had no issues during our week's stay. We would definitely rent this camp again.
Enjoy!
Great location on a peaceful lake, just a few miles to the town of Camden and convenient for a day trip to Acadia National Park. The house had historic charm with modern amenities and a well-equipped kitchen. The wood burning fireplace came in handy for the cooler September mornings and evenings. The water 'toys' (boat, kayaks, canoe) were a great bonus - and the lake water was still warm enough for swimming. The host graciously and promptly responded to all of our pre-booking questions and included a thorough Welcome Guide. We enjoyed our stay.

Janice was great, and handled her end with ease. I'm glad they enjoyed themselves.
We were looking forward to a week to get away and unplug with the family. While there was Wi-Fi access, we had no trouble keeping our boys engaged after hiding their devices. They kayaked, fished, canoed and leisurely read all week. Board games and cards and laughter filled the evenings. Easy drive to downtown Camden, Rockport and Rockland for dinners or shopping. Thanks for a great week!
Back to heaven! This is our second trip here we love it with the loons singing and the lake the peace and quiet. Access to town access to hiking fabulous restaurants convenient shopping for food all around spectacular. Nature here is right in front of you with a kayak and a canoe we got up and close to the loons and the ducks and geese and even a blue heron. Would love it here and definitely will return. The owner is great as is the caretaker. No complaints.

This is Karen and family's second summer with us. She's been a wonderful tenant, helping us deal with items left behind by previous tenants, and otherwise has been very helpful and responsive.
The two cabins are so perfectly situated on Beautiful Lake Megunticook that we felt as though we were the only ones there! We are a family of 7 and the property suited us just right. Mornings afternoon & evenings could find any or all of us on the expansive porch or down on the dock. We rented 2 paddle boards to have in additional the kayaks, canoe and boat. Swims & picnic lunches were within an easy boat ride on the lake and hiking was a short drive to a trail head. We enjoyed all of it as well as the proximity to Camden for a couple of dinners out but we mostly ate in as the kitchen was well stocked and we preferred dinners outside on the porch listening for the loons! We'd love to go back there!

Kathryn and family were easy and pleasant to deal with.
Check-in was easy, and communication with the host was excellent. The property is located on an absolutely stunning lake—we spent our afternoons relaxing on the dock, swimming, and cruising around in the little motor boat. Listening to the loons call in the evening was one of our favorite parts. It was incredibly peaceful—exactly what we were looking for.The cabin is just a short drive into Camden, where we enjoyed a cruise on the Lazy Jack II schooner, did some shopping, and had some delicious meals. Be sure not to miss a hike or drive up Mt. Battie for breathtaking views of Camden and the coastline. The cabin itself is over 100 years old. It's very rustic, but cozy and full of charm. We didn’t need the A/C in the main cabin, but our kids used it in the guest cabins—so it's available if needed. If you're looking for something more modern or luxurious, this might not be the right fit. But if you’re after a peaceful, classic Maine lakeside experience, this place is perfect. We had a fantastic time and would definitely come back!
We rented the camp for the first two weeks in September. It was a glorious time of year to enjoy the lake and the Camden sea coast. The camp is spacious with a large porch overlooking the lake and a lovely dock with
kayaks, a canoe and a motor boat available. While quiet and serene, it is only 3 miles from downtown Camden, so restaurants and shopping are close by. Fred was a wonderful host and accessible when we needed help working the TV. Libby, an local artist, oversees the property and was a great resource. She introduced us to the Camden dog park and offered to take us on a tour of the lake, but the weather didn’t cooperate. My husband, the dog and I agree that it was one of the most relaxing vacations ever!

Kay was a great guest, punctual, neat, and courteous, and on top of that, a pleasure to work with.
This is a beautiful spot! - the house is on a quiet, peaceful lake but yet you're only a five minute drive to downtown Camden and are close to the ocean, too. The spot is very peaceful because the house is on a quiet part of the lake and it was very nice that there were kayaks, a canoe, and a small boat for our use - the kids loved it. The large porch is full of comfy furniture where you can spend the day enjoying the sounds of nature and see glimpses of the lake. The home has rustic Maine cottage elements - the kitchen is small and older but was perfectly functional with everything you could need and we really appreciated that there was a washer and dryer there. The host was so easy to contact and was very accommodating. This is a well-loved family home that exudes a history of many years of memory making at a beautiful spot in Maine.
