About the host
Hosted by George Westbrook
As hosts, my wife and I live only 12 miles from our cottage and will be available to greet you upon arrival and help with any needs during your stay. We're new to renting our cottage but have been landlords in the area for years. We have done one private rental this summer and quote from our renters, "Hi Jan and George, We have had an absolutely lovely time at your house! These 2 weeks have been one of the best vacations I can remember us having. Thanks so much!, Ann". She added in a later text, "We've stayed at several places on both Hobbs Pond and other locations, and your home was our favorite! Thanks! Ann & Michael" We hope to have many more positive reviews.
Why they chose this property
Hobbs Pond is one of the jewels of the midcoast area. It is a quiet pond catering to canoes, kayaks and paddleboards with limited motor boats. The fishing is good for those with a license. Swimming is excellent and exploring the many parts of the pond is always fun and an adventure. Hope is a wonderful small town with many walking trails and a great general store. It's a jumping off point to visit the many area attractions, from lakes to mountains to harbors and wonderful restaurants.
What makes this property unique
Our property was designed and built by us. The wood interior gives our cottage a warmth and comfort for a relaxing vacation. The peaceful, quiet setting next to the pond gives a wonderful experience in nature, from the cry of the loons, to the flights of an eagle, a sun or moon rise shining on the water. Enjoy a week or two!
