The setting is beautiful; I was there at a low tourist time so the ground were quiet. The cottage was clean, up to date, comfortable. It is a great place for 1 - 3 individuals.
Cute, cozy cottage with everything we needed. We enjoyed the lake views, shared beach and firepit. The cottage is close to many towns we love to visit. Would love to visit again!
This is the second time we have stayed at this cottage because we find it is very clean, well equipped inside and out and has a beautiful view of the lake and the sunsets. We always come in the Fall and enjoy the beautiful colors across the lake. It is a perfect location for Leland, Suttons Bay Sleeping Bear and traverse City among other locations. We hiked Pyramid point this year and visited Point Betsy Among our normal stops. Being able to relax outside on the patio is especially nice for us. This year we were visited by a pilliated woodpecker, our favorite. We hope to be back again next year.
Well priced home right on the lake. We enjoyed swimming on the lake and watching the sunset. Easy check-in and friendly host. Host recommended a hike which we enjoyed. Great location for traveling to Sutton's Bay and Traverse City. Only complaint is 82 Service Fee and 89 Property Damage Protection which did not appear on the listing. Thanks for the great stay!
Beautiful yard and lake. Clean accommodations and nicely furnished.
The only recommendation would be queen beds in each room if you are with another couple but other than, our stay was great!
Cottage was as listed. It’s cozy but has everything you need.

Tom, thank you so much for reviewing our cottage! I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I would love to know what would have brought your review up to five stars? We hate to imagine anything was missing and want any opportunity to improve our guests stay.
We loved this place! It was small but cozy and it had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. We had a few questions and the owners responded quickly . We definitely we be coming back.
Cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. Outdoor seating area was very pleasant with a beautiful view of the lake. Sunsets gorgeous. Convenient to all of Leelanau Peninsula.
My family has been going to the eest wind cabins for over 20 years, and this cabin is one of the best. It was very clean when we got there and stocked with everything we needed, along with lake access, boat docking, and firepits. The owners are super easy to work with and we will definitely be staying here again!
Cutest cottage! Near so many activities and restaurants. Been coming up for many many years. Now my Grands are enjoying all that Leelanau has to offer. Thank you.
The cottage and the location was perfect for our needs.
It was difficult to leave the serenity and peaceful surroundings.
The only difficulty we had was the TV. The owners were at able to help us through the problem hence we had no TV during our stay. That was disappointing.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! There were only two of us, so space was plentiful. Every morning we sat out on the patio and had our coffee, and each evening we sat there and read or chatted about our day. The sunsets were gorgeous and there was always a pleasant breeze. The cottage was very clean, updated and well-equipped. The Internet worked well, as did the AC (although we didn't use it much). The location is central to many of the attractions of the area including Traverse City, Leland, Fishtown and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. We're already talking about "next time!"

Thank you so much! We are so pleased to hear your vacation went so beautifully. Thank you for the nice review l.
The cottage was lovely and so welcoming! It was so clean and beautifully updated. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and were so glad for the A/C with the unexpectedly hot temps while we were there.
The best part? The views from the picture window. Gorgeous views and great access to Lake Leelanau. We watched beautiful sunsets each evening – from the house, from the beach, from the water on kayaks.
The location is great too for accessing everything the Leelanau peninsula had to offer. Traverse City was 15 mins away. Leland/Fish Town was 15 mins away. Suttons Bay was 15 mins too. The Sleeping Bear Dunes and Glen Arbor area is about 30 mins away. So many great activities nearby, but a peaceful, lake retreat to return to each evening.
The grounds at the cottage were kept great too. It’s location is part of a small ‘resort’ with about 10 similar cottages and a common beach. We had the bad luck of arriving in the middle of a mayfly hatch but the groundskeeper kept the beach area cleaned and groomed.
Only comment is to make sure the space does fit your group's needs. It’s a lovely cottage with a queen-sized bed in one room and 3 ‘bunk’ twin beds in the other room and one small bathroom with shower. There is not a ton of room otherwise and because of the design of the cottage no closets or storage areas inside. And you do need to provide your own linens - towels and bedding - so that will be part of your luggage. Not a critique but just be aware of the size when considering your needs.
We would definitely stay here again.

Thanks Stacy! We look forward to having you again! Great point on the size. There are as many hooks as we can muster for sure. Your review is appreciated.
Cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience we had. The cottage is perfect and the location on the lake was breathtaking. I wish I could share some of the photos I shot because the ones at the listing dont do the setting justice.
Property is just as nice as described. Very private and quiet, while centrally located near so many great Northern Michigan destinations. Will plan on staying here in the future!

About the host
Hosted by Kyrstin Ritsema
My husband grew up on Lake Leelanau at his grandparents cottage on the South Lake. We started bringing our children up when they were 4 and 1 and now they are sailing the lake on their own. Blessed to acquire our own personal piece of heaven and make it our own in 2020. Its our pleasure to share it with you when we are not enjoying it ourselves!
Why they chose this property
One of the first cottages we rented was in the West Wind Resort and we loved the convenience to everything we like to do. Its the perfect size to have and still be able to enjoy yourself. Great home base, and quiet location.
What makes this property unique
This is our personal cottage, not just a rental property. All the things you would need for yourself or older children are available for your use. Dishes, outdoor furniture, coffee maker, etc. We only ask that if supplies are used that they be replaced. If items are broken or damaged let us know ASAP. We want you to be comfortable and look forward to establishing return guests.
