Turtle Pond is an adorable Shelter Cove home nestled among beautiful live oaks and palmettos that Edisto is famous for. This updated cottage is perfect for couples or a small family looking for a peaceful getaway. The back deck offers a front-row seat on the lagoon to relax and take in the abundant wildlife like herons, egrets, and especially turtles. The spacious interior is stylishly decorated. No detail has been overlooked with a well-equipped kitchen featuring granite countertops and stainless appliances. The spacious bedrooms and living area are each equipped with a TV and cable package. Take advantage of dining alfresco or simply cooling off after a hot day in the sun on the comfortably furnished screened porch. The charm of the Lowcountry will wow you from this fantastic resort home.

This vacation rental is located inside of the Wyndham Ocean Ridge Resort. Boats, trailers, motorcycles, mopeds, campers, RV's, and golf carts are not allowed inside of the resort. Wyndham amenities are available for purchase for an additional fee from the Wyndham Cafe but there is NO GUARANTEE due to limited passes per day. Wyndham Amenities are shared pools, tennis, gym fitness room, mini golf, playground, and Beach Cabana.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Great trip

Vacasa had to move our reservation to another unit at the last minute due to flooding. They were easy to work with and took care of our needs! This home was in a great location and accommodated us well.

I stayed here with my twin teenagers over spring break. I would definitely rent again if I return to the area. The house is lovely with plenty of room and a great kitchen. I particularly enjoyed watching the turtles on the back porch and relaxing with a good book on the front porch.

Relaxing retreat

We enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, had all the amenities we needed including great wifi (we were still having to teach virtually), and is in a spot that is not overcrowded. Some amenities in the area are affected by COVID so check before you go.

Very comfortable and cozy. Great master and the shower is great! Lovely location and I know this is through no fault of yours but home construction across the pond was crazy loud and distracting, Couldn't sit o the back deck.

Tranquil at Turtle Pond

Great stay! Wonderful relaxed time. The peaceful walks down the shady lane gave us the quiet we needed, coming from a loud, busy city. The screened in porch was amazing! Turtle Pond is a beautiful home with all the amenities. The washer and dryer were so appreciated. We are grateful this is a dog friendly home as we love our fur babies and take them with us wherever we go. We look for places that will allow us to stay together. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We will be back!!

Family Beach Week

Home was very clean upon arrival. Very nice front porch and back deck, traffic noise was not a problem as some had mentioned.Large dining table for family meals and game nights. Lots of turtles to watch and saw an Alligator two days while we were there. Lots of dishes and comfortable bedding. Very nice A/C, kept the house cool all week. Would be nice to have a golf cart since it is a good ways to the beach and not walkable. Would definitely stay again. No complaints other than the need for a golf cart and including amenities passes with the rental.

Family gathering for the Labor Day weekend

The place is dated, that doesn't normally bother me but somethings just need to be addressed from time to time. Replace what is out dated and look really used. If there was a cleaning crew assigned to prepare for our arrival they really didn't do much. Furniture was not dusted, bathrooms were okay at best. Found 3 dead cockroaches , that my one grandson picked up and almost ate...the master bedroom wall had more dust on it then the furniture. The tile floor in the kitchen had coffee stains, which made me assume that they "swept the place with a glance" and nothing else.

We wouldn’t go back

Checking is via property manager - incorrect address provided so we had to backtrack our drive adding more time. We are used to key code access. Checking out requires drop off of keys House is dated. No hairdryer. Worst was no tv remote in living room which wasn’t fixed until the last day. So after dinner no family tv watching. We went to our respective rooms. Cable has very few channels- mostly shopping channels. Thank goodness we brought books. If you use upstairs bedroom, you need to come downstairs to use bathroom. It has window a/c unit poorly put in. Gaps for bugs!!! Find another place to stay.

Relaxing

This was our 3rd time in this cottage. Location is good, easy access to everything. Everything is in good working order. Well stocked kitchen. Loved the new chairs. The wildlife is great. Deer, baby deer, lots of turtles and a few gators in the pond. Watched one eat a turtle! Get relaxing vacation.

Nice Home with pond view.

Nice home with a pond view in a quiet gated community. The home was nicely furnished and comfortable. The ocean was within a short driving distance. The rental/cleaning company needs to address the cleaning and some repair issues. The carpet in the master bedroom had what appeared to be pet urination and fecal matter stains. It appeared that a previous tenant did not clean up after their pet(s). The other downstairs bedroom had a few pet stains in the carpet. Both bathrooms had towel racks that had been removed from the wall. Parts from the master bedroom towel rack were laying on the clothes hamper. The jets in the jacuzzi tub did not work and the toilet in the master bedroom water tank made a noise off and on and had to be plunged. With the items being repaired and the carpet being clean, this property would be perfect. I did make the office aware of the cleaning and repairs needed.

Beautiful Island

We loved the location of this property on Edisto. The condo was very comfortable, roomy, and had a well equipped kitchen. We used the gas grill to cook fresh seafood from Flowers and watched the turtles swim in the pond. Biking around the island was great and beach access was easy. I highly recommend Turtle Pond!

Nice beach house

We enjoyed our stay at the beach house on Edisto Island. The neighborhood is very quiet. Beach access is about a 1/2 mile easy walk. The house was well equipped with pots/pans and cooking items. We did call Vacasa for a hairdryer (it was listed as having one, but there was none in the house) and Vacasa brought one over. We would definitely rent this house again. The only suggestion I would make is that the beds could use new mattresses. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay!

Great Property

Turtle Pond was a great place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful location. There was more room than we needed for just the two of us but we will remember this place if we have others with us. Very clean, secure and furnished well with a well stocked kitchen. Slept well on the bed and the fireplace in the living room made it cozy at night. We didn't really get to enjoy the porches as it was too cool at night and we were out exploring during the day, but they looked inviting. The communication with the owner was excellent and the place is described accurately. It was another story with the check in. We got to the island late and just could not find the office. Apple Maps had us going to the wrong place. We called the number and the person could not help us find it. She said she would get in touch with the local rep and he should call us back shortly with help. We never heard from him. While waiting, we tried Google Maps and it took us to the correct spot, we got our keys and everything was fine. I know it wasn't the property managers fault that Apple didn't take us to the right spot, but I'm disappointed that the local rep did not call us back. All in all, though we very much enjoyed our stay on the island, and loved Turtle Pond. Just had a little hiccup. One last point, we could not get the jetted tub to work. I'm sure it was probably us, but ...

Turtle Pond

We had a wonderful time spending our week at Turtle Pond. The home is beautiful and has all that you will need. My family enjoyed spending the evenings on the porch feeding the turtles their "dinner." The walk through the resort was relaxing and it was easy to access the beach. Only a short two minute drive to a beach access area to park. Definitely hope to visit again.
