Top-rated for creating memorable stays with your pets.
Firepit available
One of the few properties with a dedicated outdoor firepit.
Right on Trout Creek, this historic cabin is in the middle of a working horse ranch. We raise Marchador horses as well as much of the food we eat. In season, you can collect eggs for your breakfast and fresh milk & cream is often available. Bring your fishing license! Trout Creek has earned her name. Plenty of hiking and mountain biking trails! Quiet beauty in the Montana mountains.
Full kitchen with a double oven as well as microwave. Coffee maker. Lots of other foodie sorts of things.
Trout Creek Canyon is a spectacular and easy trail, about three miles one way. We often see mountain goats high on the canyon walls.
There are very few lights at night so stargazers can have their fill of night skies that are filled with stars and the Milky Way arches high over head.
Come enjoy! Relax. The weight of the world seems to crumble way out here.

About the host
Your host
I'm a semi-retired veterinarian, my husband is a civil engineer. We raise gaited Marchador horses from Brazil on this high mountain ranch. We live on the ranch and the VRBO property is near the main ranch house.
Why they chose this property
The Cabin on Trout Creek was built in the 1930s as a place for the newly married son of the rancher to live with his wife. It was called "The Honeymoon Cabin" for many years. It's been upgraded and has a sunlit kitchen and full bath. The original out house is still functional!
What makes this property unique
Listening to the creek lull you to sleep is one of the big benefits of this cabin. Hiking and skiing, mountain biking and fishing in fresh mountain air will make you fall in love with this mountain valley. There are horses to visit with right across the fence and, depending on the time of year, infant foals frolic with their moms near the yard.
