Bring your family or a group of friends for a fun and relaxing stay on Mousam Lake! With three bedrooms, an additional loft and basement sleeping area, there’s room for everyone!

Explore the lake with the canoes and kayaks available to you or bring your own boat, the public boat launch is a mile away!

When you’re not enjoying the lake, the house provides many spaces for your favorite outdoor yard games, a screen house to have a drink and play some cards and a large hot tub to melt away the stresses of life.

Inside you’ll find every thing you’ll need for a comfortable stay. A large dining room table encourages togetherness. The fully stocked kitchen is complete, including everything you will need for those lobsters you’ve been craving since last summer. Each shower is equipped with spa grade shampoo/conditioner and body wash.

If you feel like getting out a bit, you will find Ted’s fried clams, a beer store, a natural food store, and a handful of local restaurants and ice cream spots all about a mile from the house! On top of all the other great things to see or do in southern Maine, there is something for everyone!

The house needs some attention. As the week went on there were several things that caused frustration. Owner would get back to us, sometimes delayed. The hot tub was nice and we appreciated the live Christmas tree!

Friends and family friendly, very spacious kitchen, clean rooms, and such a gorgeous lake! It felt very lived-in, unlike some other short-term rentals. We absolutely loved being able to kayak, paddleboard, and use the floaties on the property.

Excellent Lake House

Great stay house was as advertised. Chris was very easy to communicate with. Large yard w plenty of seating and firepit with good lighting. Would stay again 100%.

Fantastic vacation rental

1st time back to Mousam Lake in 30 years. The house was perfect fit for 6 adults and 6 kids. House was clean, sleeping accommodations very comfortable. Two docs, one faced the firework barge. Other held our 20ft boat. Floats, paddle board and canoe’s provided. Kids spent morning and evenings fishing. Large yard with fire pit. Many house spent enjoying the Maine air. Neighbors are friendly and helpful.

In love with the Lake life

We loved everything about our stay! House had everything you can think of and the beds were the most comfortable we have ever had at a rental! The hot tub was great to soak in at the end of the day. We used the canoes and kayaks every day, highly suggest a paddle right before sunset! Owners were quick to respond with any questions. Will definitely be back!

July 4th weekend!

Thank you for making your house available to our family during July 4th long weekend. We had a great stay. It was clean, and cozy. We appreciate it! We would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Perfect!

We had an amazing stay. Our host was very responsive and the house had everything we needed....there were many little extras that exceeded our expectations. The lake was clean and beautiful and our outside amenities were outstanding including the extra touches of kindling to make a fire, accent lighting and plenty of seating. The hot tub was especially relaxing, clean and worked very well. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend that others enjoy this property.

Summer Vacation

Our experience was wonderful. The house was well kept and had many amenities. There was a small problem with the hot tub and the owners were very prompt in fixing it and getting it taken care of. There were twelve of us and the house had more than enough room to accommodate that many people. Would stay there again.

The house was great, clean, well stocked, roomy and bright. The yard was big, with plenty of space for games and hanging out. Our one disappointment was that photos of the property made it seem like the lake was close to the yard when in fact we had to walk across the street through another yard to get to the dock and our boat.

Incredible Lake House

This home has everything you could ever want in a lake house! My family loved the location on the water, in addition to the hot tub, fire pit, hammock, and wonderful screened-inn porch. No detail is over-looked here- from the board games, to toiletries, to paper goods- the home had everything you could think of for a relaxing family get away. We have stayed at other rentals on Mousam Lake and this home was by far the nicest we have ever visited! The hosts were extremely accommodating and responsive- can’t wait to return next summer!

Great getaway!

Our family had a wonderful time at this property. The house was well stocked. We loved the back yard and thought it had a lovely ambiance. We had multiple lobster boils and loved using the firepit. We used the dock across the street everyday to boat and swim off of. We had 5 people and one child and thought the house was a really comfortable fit for this amount. We did not use the loft or basement bedroom although these might work for a younger adult. Thanks for helping us make this such a fun trip!

Great Girls Get Away

Beautiful place if you have a large group. Many areas to gather from the fire pit to hot tub or a quick pickup game of basketball! It was rainy for us one day and I side we were comfortable with family visiting for the day. Perfect table space for large group dining or game playing! Beds are comfortable there is another sleeping space in the basement we did not use but would be great for even more to join you on your vacation. Kitchen had everything we needed. Good accessibility to the water . Highly recommend.

Great Maine house with all the amenities!

From day one Erica was friendly and accommodating. I had to change our dates and she generously helped make it possible. The house is so nice and comfortable, including the beds and strong A/C in every room. Hot tub is the fanciest we’ve ever been in! LOVED it! Downstairs bedroom is perfect for a teenager who doesn’t mind walking through the unfinished basement to get to it. Gas grill seems brand new. Picnic house (as we dubbed it) is so, so nice for eating outside without any bugs. We used the canoes & kayaks everyday. Floating dock is great. Overall very happy we rented this house! Thank you!

Perfect Vacation Home

We had a great, comfortable, clean, and peaceful stay at Erica’s house! It was a perfect vacation home in that we had everything we needed, were very cozy, and had easy communication with the owners when we had questions. The weather wasn’t great for us to enjoy the area as much as we’d have liked, but the property has amazing access to the lake, although one access point is across the street (the lake wraps around). The only minor issue we had is that the front room, which has great couches, space to play games, and the tv does not have curtains/blinds on the big windows. Given how early is gets dark, there was a good chunk of our visit where we felt a little exposed to neighbors, but since we mostly laid on the couches/sat around playing games, it didn’t matter too much. We would definitely come back in the summer and enjoy all the property has to offer!

Quiet Getaway

My family really enjoyed the privacy of renting a home. The home and property is clean and comfortable. The owners are very responsive. We liked that the home is a little bit remote and not in a busy lake area, and that stores are still accessible nearby. The neighbors were also friendly giving us some gems of locations to suggest to eat at while there. Ted's Fried Clams was very close. The Shapleigh Corner Store has awesome Pizza and other treats! Breakfast at Mel's Raspberry Patch in Sanford is not too far away and delicious. The closest ocean beach is just a short 35-40 min drive. We were able to enjoy some indoor games on the rainy days and enjoy the lake on the sunny days. The outdoor backyard area is lovely with a hot tub and firepit with pretty lighting. My kids loved jumping off the raft and just floating on the quiet lake in the floaties provided and trying out a paddleboard. Who am I kidding...the adults loved it too!!

Many pros, a few quirks

Great property for a family lake vacation. We loved the location, easy access to the lake, the kayaks, the large yard, the fire pit, the hot tub. We basically did not leave the property and that was perfect. The downsides are two of the sleeping areas. There are three proper bedrooms that would comfortably sleep 6-7. The sleeping loft is right off the kitchen so unless everyone keeps exactly the same hours, those people are going to be disturbed. Also it requires climbing down a ladder to get to a bathroom. Bigger concern was the basement sleeping area, accessed through an unfinished part of the basement. There was a funky smell and the air quality did not seem good. Bathroom access in the night is tough. The electrical was a little jerry-rigged. We had teenagers sleeping down there and they put up with it, but if you have a larger group, think through who is going to sleep where.

Mousam Lake Getaway

I want to start by saying that Erica & Chris were amazing (fantastic communicaiton) & our family had a fabulous week in Maine on Mousam Lake. Positives: house was stocked with everything we needed, living room was a big area for everyone, it even Netflix had a guest account for us to use (thank you). We brought 2 baby gates for our two 1 year olds which worked out great. The backyard is great and Erica supplied corn hole boards to use as well. We enjoyed many nights outside by the fire, and some of our family enjoyed the hot tub as well (said it was fabulous). Giant lobster pot was great! Boat launch was easily accessible and near the property. There’s a little beach for kids down the road that was great for our 1 yr olds to “walk in” to the water. Negatives: the double headed shower on the main floor was different. Our family that stayed upstairs said the rooms were small and that the shower curtain barely fit the shower. We didn’t use the loft area, and our guests who stayed in basement said it was warm due to no AC downstairs (very cool space though). Loved the master bedroom of the kitchen! Couldn’t find the pullout couch in the living room, as advertised which was disappointing with our big group. There are a lot of stairs to get down to both water access areas, which can be challenging for really young or old guests. We wished the (swimming) stairs on the front dock were up front where we swam (vs around the other side of the dock). All in all, we had a great week!

Great spot

Property was very nice & clean, well appointed with details for travelers. Was surprised to find that one bedroom was an open loft of the kitchen and another in the basement without bathroom or A/C. We enjoyed the hot tub, the kayaks and canoes (which included life preservers in all sizes), and the fire pit.

Amazing Maine Vacation

We planned this short mid week vacation for my dads 60th birthday. This was the lake we used to vacation in as kids. As fate would have it, this was the only property available that week. I am so glad we were able to stay here. Erica was incredibly accommodating, quick to respond if we had questions, and the house was absolutely beautiful, and meticulously clean. Adults and kids are like both said it was one of the best vacations we’ve had so far! Thank you Erica for such a wonderful stay, we will be back again next year!
