Great place but...

I want to start off with the positives. First off, I want to say that Emiliano was a great host. He communicated well & provided information requested. For 2 families and grandparents, it was comfortable & enough space for all of us to enjoy. The location within Playacar II was great in the fact that it was right across the street from convenient store, pharmacy and some restaurants. There are additional restaurants walking distance (maybe 10 min straight down road within community). It felt safe walking & riding bikes around as community is gated & guarded. It was great having access to Astrid the chef. She cooked amazing foods! They had some Melaleuca natural cleaning supplies & soaps that made us feel at home :) Now for the things they can improve on: - There were limited linens. It seemed very haphazardly put together with mismatching towels etc. & not enough of everything (washclothes in particular). Also comforters/blankets seemed to be older/used items they just stocked in there with nothing matching. - The pool is not U.S. standard of "clean"... seemed murky & greenish though they had a pool guy there every 2-3 days & if we mentioned anything, they would have him go out that day. I think part of it is the trees right next to the pool that gets it dirty quickly. - There were so many bugs inside (ants and roaches). The front door had sizable space on the bottom that allowed on multiple occasions lizards to get inside and we had to rescue them. - There was a lack of toilet paper especially when you know a family of 10 are staying a week, be sure to stock up on TP! - Overall the house was beautiful but it felt incomplete. The beds didn't have headboards, there appeared to be recent work in 1 of the upstairs bathrooms, no artwork on the walls, etc. - There was nowhere in all 5 bedrooms to put our clothes. No dressers or places to hang items either! There was a couple of folding tables in a couple of rooms but it could be a great improvement to utilize the closets spaces and build them in. - They state it's "walking distance" to the beach and in theory yes it is. But the reality of the summer heat, no way! It's 1 mile but its a hot walk especially with the kids! We never walked there. - Advertised 6 bikes but in reality it was 3.5 - 3 cruisers and 1 kids bike that was very uncomfortable, the others were broken/flat tires. - 1st floor bedroom needs blackout curtains - faces street with car lights that shine right in the window at night

I would stay again

Beautiful 5 bedroom home. Very spacious. Nice pool, neighborhood, and bikes to ride. Great location. Had some electrical/water issue but the owner fixed it right away. Probably something that rarely, if ever, happens. The owner was quick to respond. The backyard and pool was wonderful to use. Private, secure. I would come back.

Nice home

Took our family of 14. House was right size, everyone had a bed, large family room and kitchen. Location is ideal for lots of activities. Beach access is not ideal, no parking, long walk or bike ride. Good security for community. Owner a little shy on information so you need to ask a lot of questions, check in and out, tv operations, AC usage, paper goods, etc.. shopping and restaurants close by so very convenient location. Pool and hot tub are great. We would stay there again.
