Ben and Katie have been loving nature and each other for over 20 years. Both Plant Biologist by training, they were more than excited to get the opportunity to become stewards of the land and test their skills as entrepreneurs. Their new baby girl, Ada, gladly joins them on this and any adventure and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Phil won Lynn's heart the day he came to remodel her house. Five dogs and over thirty years of teaching later, Lynn was ready to retire to the woods bringing all her creativity and exceptional taste with her. After getting a few houses under his belt (over fifty!) Phil decided to join Lynn in retirement and saved the best for last with our perfect cabins. Somewhat of an introvert, Leonard their loyal pup, has been the perfect silent partner.

Why they chose this property

In 2016 the acreage was agonizingly (but judiciously) timbered. When the opportunity came to manage the land, we just couldn't resist. Our intentions were simple - nourish and sustain the property in order for ourselves, our guests, and all other living things to cherish for years to come.

The cabin's main structure is constructed of hand hewn logs (literally with an axe!) that were made to specification from Virginia. The walls alone are pieces of art. The rest of the building was completed by us keeping in mind the character of the cabin, while adding modern amenities. We were even able to utilize lumber from the property to hand construct wall panels and furniture. The craftmanship is unmatched.

What makes this property unique

The cabin sits on the top of a secluded ridge top, surrounded by 89 acres. The location is private and undeniably gorgeous.
