We walked through the front door when we first arrived and thought ‘wow’ this is a beautiful house. It was clean and extremely well presented completely matching the description in the listing. We didn’t initially meet with our host however after we had issues with joining the WiFi, Laurence kindly turned up and assisted us. We also met her again during our check out and found her very friendly and personable. Our two boys loved the pool and made the most of the fantastic weather we had during our stay. We had some good food in Chatenois; at the local Italian and La Vignette, which was slightly higher end in comparison and a very good all round experience. Both of the restaurants were within walking distance of the house. We also used the bbq at the house. In terms of local places to visit, we enjoyed Haut Koenigsbourg, Montagne des Singes, and hired bikes in Kinzheim, the next village. During our ride we found a fantastic little Vinyard (Dussourt) in Scherwiller and had an impromptu tasting session. In summary, we had such a lovely experience in Alsace which was made by the house and its surrounding areas. We would definitely recommend visiting. We left a child’s blanket behind and Laurence kindly posted it back to us… she was very kind and responsive throughout the whole experience.
