Sea Spray Cottage #2

Sea Spray Cottages were built in 1950. There are 5 cottage in total, each cottage is similar to the others, but unique in its own way. If you are looking for a unique vacation opportunity where you do not have to invite 25 of your closest friends and family members, Sea Spray Cottages OBX is the place for you. The location is ideal, Mile Post 11.7, just south of Nags Head Pier and just north of Snowbird's Soft Serve Ice Cream; you will be centrally located to many attractions.

My wife and I have been operating the SEA SPRAY COTTAGES OBX for vacation rentals since 2009. We run a mom & pop operation, an experience from a day gone-by but thoroughly enjoyed by our guests.

Cottage #2 rents Sunday to Sunday in the summer. We will consider partial weeks, if the stay starts or ends on a Sunday. You will have to inquire about that option. The pricing of this unit will mirror Cottage #1 pricing for part-stays in the summer.

Built in 1950, the cottages provide guests with a feel of what vacationing was like on the Outer Banks during a less complicated era. The cottages are equipt with modern conveniences that will make your visit relaxing and enjoyable. Linens and towels NOT provided, however, our assistant manager, Billy, runs a side gig and he can hook you up for a fee if you prefer not to bring your own. Check in is at 4 and check out is at 10:00.

Cottage #2 has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6. It has an inviting front porch and a back porch for out-door dining.

Dogs are welcome, we try to keep it to 2 (the cottages are primarily for folk). $125 for the first two and $100 each after that.

If your desired dates of travel are not available in this cottage, we have others. There are 5 cottages in total at Sea Spray Cottages OBX, all similar in vintage, but unique from one another. If you are a regular on the Outer Banks, they are the gray cottages with the pink doors on the beach road in Nags Head.

Cozy Cottage

My week at John’s sweet cottage was perfect! The location couldn’t have been better. It was central to the island, easy access to Manteo, and the walk across the street to the beach was less than 5 minutes. There was a small issue the first morning, but a message to John brought a quick reply and fix within 30 minutes. I hope these retro cottages continue to stand and are not replaced by another mc-mansions similar to the thousands up and down the coast of the OBX. Thanks John for a lovely stay!

A Great Stay. New Englanders will surely love it!

Since this was our very first trip to Nags Head and OBX, we didn't know what to expect.We were very, very pleased with our stay at Seaspray Cottage (#2). It is the perfect blend of charming nostalgia and modern convenience. If you are used to vacationing on the shores of New England, Seaspray Cottages will be very reminiscent of Old Lyme, Cape Cod and the NH seacoast. The owners here have payed special attention in the renovations to retain the quaintness of an earlier, more simple vacation stay, and yet have also appointed the cottage with all the amenities one really needs. For us, it was especially valuable to not have to bring beach chairs or a portable grill, as space comes at a premium in our SUV, with 2 teens and a 88lb. dog! The cottage is spacious, very clean, comfortably furnished and well-cared-for. The location is truly convenient and has close access to the beach. Thank you for a great introduction to Nags Head; I'm sure we will be back.

My family had a great time in one of these quaint cottages. I used to vacation in the obx as a kid and this place had the feel of the cottages of my youth. We loved it and will be staying here again.

My wife, Laura Lee Garrett, had been vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina since she was an infant and introduced me, John Vollino, to the area when we were dating. We purchased our first vacation cottage a year after we were married in 1991 and purchase the Sea Spray Cottage Court in 2007. The cottages were built in 1950; there are four in total (only 2 are currently available for vacation rentals).

Why they chose this property

The cottages were slated for demolition and sale of the bare lots. We purchased the cottage court to save them from the wrecking ball. Our intent is to preserve and revitalize a little piece of old Nags Head so that we and others can enjoy a bit of history and vacation in a comfortable and uncomplicated way.

What makes this property unique

At the Sea Spray Cottages you will not have to vacation with 25 of your closest friends and family. Given the size of the cottages, you can enjoy your vacation with your immediate family or with a few close friends at a very affordable price. There is plenty to do in Nags Head including enjoying the beach, which is across the street. Cottage #2 has a large comfortable front porch were you can sit, enjoy your favorite beverage and watch the world go by.
