Our tastefully decorated Vacation home is located in the secure GATED neighborhood of Highgate Park, which is one of 7 communities in beautiful Legacy Park. We are just off Highway 27, one mile South of 192, and 5 miles North of Interstate 4. ALL DISNEY ATTRACTIONS are within a 10-20 minute drive. The KENNEDY SPACE CENTER (NASA) and both East and West coast beaches are approximately an hour drive. Grocery stores and shopping centers are a 1/2 mile drive, North or South on 27.

Once you enter our Villa, you may find it difficult to leave! The interior was designed by talented/proffessional decorators with beautiful, high quality furniture and artwork which coordinate throughout. Our villa is so relaxing and peaceful, we call it our 'Southern Comfort'.

Whether you are enjoying the large flat screen TV in the living room, playing cards by the pool or relaxing in the large garden tub while watching your favorite TV show, comfort surrounds you. Our home has both central air and heat-so whatever the weather, you will be comfortable!

As former renters, we discovered that many rental houses had HORRIBLE mattresses. We once had to put an air mattress on our bed to sleep. So, one of our top priorities was to equip our bebs with PREMIUM MATTRESSES. Our beds are so comfortable, that even my sister slept well with her very fussy,bad back.

We have 2 Master bedrooms (one King bed and one Queen) with attached baths, plus 2 bedrooms with twin beds. So bring Grandma and Grandpa, or another family to share the house and expenses. The largest master has a garden tub, separate large walk in shower and a private water closet. There is also a wall mounted TV so you can watch your favorite show while soaking in the garden tub!

Our Kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need: Dishwasher; Microwave; Garbage Disposal; Coffee Maker; Electric Tea Pot; Slow Cooker/Crock Pot; 4-Slice Toaster; Blender; Utensils and Pots and Pans. Both plastic and stoneware dishes are available as well as glass and plastic drinkware. We use the plastic dishware on the Lanai!

There are many golf courses in the area that are open to the public: Champion Gates, Polo Park and Reunion - to name a few. And the shopping in the area is fantastic and Bargains abound at Kohl's, J.C.Penny's and Belk's - all within 5 miles of our Villa! Bring an empty suitcase for all of your purchases!

Perfect for our family!

I can’t say enough nice things about this home & it’s host! We came to FL to visit our son & brought our other 2 teenagers with us. This is a beautiful home in a super nice gated community. There’s a private pool, game room, the home has a great layout, check in & out were a breeze, & there is absolutely anything & everything you could possibly need for your stay provided in this home. We had car troubles and checked in late. I texted Gayle almost at midnight and she answered. I was very thankful! Gayle responds quickly. The house has everything you need and plus! If you have small children there's a lot of toys for them. Highly recommend!

Southern Comfort

We had a great time at Southern Comfort. Gayle was very responsive with any questions we had. The house was laid out nicely and equipped even better. Decorated wonderfully with Disney artwork. The kitchen had anything we needed to prepare meals at the house if we didnt want to eat out. The pool made for a great relaxation time when we got back from the parks. Close to Disney, about 15-20min. A little more distance to Universal, about 40-45min, depending on time of day. Would stay with Gayle again. Recommend to anyone, especially travelling with family.

Everything a family needs!

Check in and check out process was super easy! She answered me within minutes, EVERYTIME! the arcade is the best! My 5 year old has kept saying she misses the vacation home. Weather didn't cooperate initially so we asked for the heating for the pool, it's not hot enough for 60 degree weather. Weather improved and you could feel the difference. Everything is literally what a family needs! The master having its on entrance is the best! You will not regret staying here!

Beautiful home

My 2 children (14 and 11) and sister-in-law rented this beautiful home for a week. We couldn't have picked a better place. The home itself is gorgeous, extremely spacious, and beautifully decorated. You have everything you need when you walk in. The game room was a hit, my kids and I really enjoyed Boccerball (we never heard of it before then)... the pool was perfect as well, patio to relax on, grill to cookout. Gayle checked in shortly after our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. The beds were very comfy too, and you just felt at home while there. The location was great for us too, in a quieter setting but still close to everything (shopping, restaurants, gas, attractions). I can't wait to come back! Thank you so much again for thinking of everything when it comes to what a vacationer really wants!

Spent 3 weeks in this great house!

Hi, I spent 3 weeks in this wonderful home with my wife and two sons (aged 8 & 10).I have rented other houses in Florida before and I think I can say this was the best one so far. While many of the pool villas look the same on the outside, the inside differs. This house was super clean, had a nice theme to the interior and the kids loved the pool and the game room. Gayle is a super host and while we didn't really had any issues during out stay, she called to check everything was ok upon arrival, during our stay and once when it was time to go home. (Thanks Gayle! =). If/when we get back to Florida, we are likely to rent this home again - it's simply the best. Thanks Gayle for making such a great house available!

Everything was perfect

We had a great time at your house. We had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the possibility to have breakfast before we went to the Disney Parks. The kitchen is equipped very well. We had belgian waffles for my husband's birthday and he loved it. And the location for the Disney Parks was great. We could go home for the kids' nap time. The beds are very comfortable. You have so much to offer for young kids. Our boys loved to play with the building blocks. We loved to have a high chair for our baby. And we all enjoyed to spend some time in the pool area. It is very convenient that so many restaurants and grocery stores are nearby. Our favorite was Mia Pizza. Your home feels very comfy and inviting. I would not change a thing.

Relaxation Personified

My grandsons loved the Disney Theme bedroom. We enjoyed all the amenities this rental offered. We requested extra pool heat since this property does not have a hot tub or spa. It was great!!! Our favorite Italian restaurant was nearby, which made deliveries a snap.... We couldn't use the grill on the patio but that was not a problem for us. The oven worked perfectly. No place we wanted to go was that far away but a car is a must. The rental is very well appointed and has a lot of personal touches. For some that may cause a bit of apprehension about kids' spills, etc. but there were enough kid friendly dishes and other kid related items provided that short-circuited the need to be overly watchful of the kids as they too enjoyed the rental... We are definitely planning to return...

I'm sorry to here you had a problem with the grill. I always have an extra tank in the garage. we do not charge for the grill, and ask if someone happens to run out of gas, that they get the fresh tank and have the empty tank filled, so no runs out during their use. I wish you would have called and I would have assisted you with the problem. Thanks for staying. We try very hard to make our home user friendly, and also a home. This is our personal home, and we want it to feel like a home to our guest when they stay.

House was fine, owner though...

The house was fine and what we were looking for; clean and spacious . However, the owner seemed confused! I booked certain dates, she sent through the rental agreement with the wrong dates. I asked her to resend with correct dates, and she said "just change it".. So we went with it but the cleaners came a day early. She clearly was confused. She then said she would keep the entire deposit because of staying and extra day, even though we didn't! We stained some towels, and I told her she could take from the deposit but there is NO MERIT behind her keeping the ENTIRE deposit. Wish the homeowner had her communication skills sharpened, because there was a disconnect. Other than that the house was a nice home. Still don't understand how she can keep the ENTIRE deposit for some stained towels.

This person turned out to be a Property Manager who rented our house for what I later found out was a Softball team of girls. I did not know this until days before the rental. They had changed the date a couple times. The last email I received was from their office stated the dates, as I put it in. When they didn't leave on the stated date, I called and he told me I made the error. Both myself and my cleaning team had the email with the dates they entered. So my team was forced to return the next day and had work hard since we had an early arrival scheduled. Also the renters moved the heavy furniture around in many rooms. We had to feel that they put in more than the stated 8 renters due to how the furniture ended up being. Myinstruction book does state not to move furniture in the house. The cleaning ladies needed to bring in help to get the furniture back in its proper place. Also the instructions state not to remove property from the house. The large "Polo" beach towels were ruined by being used outside of the house. They were covered in pickers that could not be removed. This is the first time that we have had a complaint from the cleaning crew about any renters. Normally everyone goes out of the way to respect my home and contents. I did keep the deposit, for replacement of towels, extra day in house, and extra staff to move things back to original position. The $350 deposit did not begin to cover all the additional charges. I learned to be more careful in the future.

This House Has It All!

We had an amazing two weeks at Southern Comfort! This is not just a rental property, it is a home. Gayle is a wonderful host who was there immediately any time I called or texted. It is obvious that she has put much thought and care in her home and she is so gracious. This house had everything we needed from the minute we walked in the door. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and baking supplies and there was even seasonings, condiments, and coffee. When I say this house has everything I mean it… need cleaning supplies? Look under the sink. Forgot your sunscreen? There’s some in the bathroom along with aloe in case you get a sunburn! Forgot to pack shampoo? No worries, there’s plenty! Light bulb blow? There’s some in the closet. There are extra throw blankets, Box fans, ponchos, batteries… literally anything we thought we needed was already there. This house also has everything for babies and kids. High chair, play saucer to sit baby in, pack-n-play, and toys for all ages. Literally you can’t go wrong staying at Southern Comfort! And if you do need anything “extra” there is a Walmart, Dollar General, and Publix all within miles of the home. The house is decorated lovely, and is so comfortable! Better than expected!

We have rented a lot of vacation houses and this was hands down the best one we ever stayed in. It is clean, beautifully decorated and it has EVERYTHING you need, so you feel like you are in your own vacation home. The kids loved Mickey waffles in the morning and it was great to relax in the pool after hours and hours of walking. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Perfect vacation

We really enjoyed staying at Gayle’s home. It is home away from home. She has thought of everything, from items for small children to having a garage full of games for the whole family. This property was fantastic! Gayle has thought of everything to make your stay easy and enjoyable. The kids loved the game room, although we only used it the first night because we did the parks mostly. The closeness to the parks was fabulous. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to get there in about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Lots of restaurants in the area if you don’t want to cook, but the house has all of the amenities if you want to whip up a meal at home! Kids swam every day before and after the park. Very nice patio furniture for laying out and relaxing beside the pool as well! I can’t say enough about how nice the house was! We will be back when we travel to the Orlando area!

Great Location

My family had a great time staying at this beautiful home. Everything you could need was there. Pool was fantastic!! Owner was awesome to work with. Do not hesitate to rent this home.

Mike and I had been married for 40 years before he passed away 6 years ago. I am an RN in Michigan, and Mike was a retired construction worker. We had been renting in Florida for 8 years and then decided to purchase our own vacation home. We put all the things we learned about renting into our home. We got tired of cleaning and fixing up places that we did not own. Our friends laughed at us, saying that we are the only people they know that would travel over 1200 miles to clean a home that did not belong to us. I have OCD, and cleaning and organizing are essential to me. Before I became a nurse, I cleaned house for 15 years, and have to admit I loved it. Mike was almost as obsessive as I am, but his was more on the construction side. He liked things to be finished, level, and in good working condition. So together we purchased our new vacation home in Davenport and went to work. We both are very proud of what we accomplished and look forward to making it better every time we stay. I still have lots of ideas and plans for the Villa. When I'm not working, my family and friends enjoy watching the hot air balloons float above us in the mornings as we sit by the pool and drink our coffee and tea. The sunsets by the pool are breathtaking. We spend many hours by the pool, swimming, listening to music and playing cards. Our 3 sons and their families are so happy with our purchase. We Have been blessed with 4 grandchildren, Blake and Carlie, 10 yrs, and Thomas and Emily, 8 years. Each of them has made a trip to our new home, and love it. Why they chose this property

We love Davenport, it is close to everything. We often go into Orlando and visit the Malls, Old Town, Putt-Putt Golf, and a wide varity of restaurants. My husband and sons enjoy the public golf courses that are nearby. We like to go to DOWNTOWN DISNEY and shop, stroll, and visit the many unique resturants, without paying the gate price. We have a great new shopping area at Highway 27 and I-4, that includes Target, J.C.Penny and Best Buy, along with 30-40 other shops. Super Walmart and Publix are within blocks for groceries. Highway 27 is growing by leaps and bounds with new little shops, Irish Pubs, sports bars, fast food, Applebee's, and fruit stands that we find interesting and fun. We are happy that they put up a traffic light on the corner of Highway 27, which makes it much easier to get in and out of our development. I love to get a pedicures at the nail salon next to Publix. They often offer special prices on their services!! We LOVE our new home, and it's location to everything fun and exciting in Central Florida!!

What makes this property unique

We love that our house is a single level. We have rented homes with a second floor before, but found it to be very inconvenient. Running up and down the stairs frequently, being limited to where my mom and dad (both have bad knees) could stay and not seeing what the kids were doing were a few of the problems we encountered. It was more work then we wanted while on vacation. With the layout of our new home, we can be together or separate accordingly. The washer and dryer are located inside the house, not in the garage. I found this to be easier, I hated having to put shoes on to do a load of laundry. Our pool faces SOUTH, so you don't have to spend the day chasing the sun. We have stayed in homes, where our guest had to sit in the driveway or at the side of the house to sun-bathe. Not with a SOUTH facing pool!! The sun is with you ALL day. The covered lanai allows you to be in the shade if you need a break from the sun. Also we can sit outside and play cards even in a gentle rain. The child-safe pool fencing makes everyones stay more relaxing, without having to worry about annoying door and window alarms, or not being able to have the sliding glass doors opened to enjoy the Florida breeze. We are within 15-20 minutes (depending on traffic) of DISNEY, and 20 minutes to Universal and Sea World. Having a gated community with security guards is also a plus. It cuts down on vehicle traffic. It adds an extra layer of security for everyone. It is a wonderful neighborhood with rolling landscape which makes it more interesting for walking or bike riding. We have TV's in each bedroom, along with one in the large master bathroom, (a pleasant surprise from my sons). Our home is very comfortable, and a dream come true for both me and my family.
