Great layout for the space. Worked out wonderful for 8 of us. Having the 2 bathrooms was amazing! The view was spectacular and the fire pit was prefect with everything included!!
The power went out for few hours and running out of propane on the grill. The stay was a wonderful experience for me and family.

I'm sorry about the power outage. A local substation had a problem, and the power was out in our town and all of the surrounding areas for a couple of hours. Luckily that is extremely rare. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay!
Great location. Place - gatehouse II was spotless & roomy and very nice. Very well msintained. Personnel very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back.
We had such a lovely stay at Gatehouse 2! The unit was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We enjoyed our meals outside on the deck with a table that could seat all of our family of 8 easily while catching beautiful views of the river! While we were nervous that this unit seemed to be a shared house (duplex), it was quiet and we had our own space with plenty of privacy. There is a bit of a walk to the water which is on the other side of the resort, but the views are still gorgeous. All of our needs were met in the unit, but if we needed anything extra or had questions, the owners responded promptly and were so kind and helpful. Thank you for a vacation we will always remember!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Lovely place but not what we expected
Very clean. Nicely decorated. Beautifully lanscaped. However , I was under the impression it was on the water. It is not. I was under the impression, it was a whole house, it is not. It is 1/2, the back half. I paid 50 daily to rent a boat slip. Upon returning from a trip on the water we found another boat in the spot I paid for, in advance. Poor business to take money and not provide the service. So unfortunate. I am left with the feeling of being taken advantage of therefore spoiling memories of our 2025 family vacation.

We are so happy that you enjoyed the cottage and the property! I'm sorry if you did not realize that there are two completely separate rentals units in one building. The pictures and description in the listing is accurate.
As far as the dockage goes, someone without our knowledge pulled into your assigned boat dock. As soon as you told us we immediately found out who's boat it was and had them move it. The boat was only there for around ten minutes of the four days you rented the dock. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. But I would not describe that as charging for something you didn't receive.
The place was immaculate. Bedrooms were cozy and spacious. The touch of chocolates in each bedroom was heartwarming. Coffee tea and creams. Sweet touch. Could not have asks for more. We will be back. Thank you.
The place was so clean and well equipped.
Very nice and welcoming staff.
Thank you!

About the host
Hosted by Nick & Amy Schaefer
The Ledges Resort & Marina started with my grandparents Nicholas J Schaefer and his wife Amy. They purchased the property in 1961 and made it their home. In 1963 they built a motel and named it The Ledges. They also opened a German restaurant on the property named The Old World Inn. They closed the restaurant 1982, but continued with the motel. In later years the motel was managed by my parents, Jerome and Deborah Schaefer. They expanded into the marina and cottage rental business. In 2013 after 50 years in business we made a decision as a family to close the business and tear down the motel.
In 2014 my wife and I purchased the property from my parents. We remodeled the old buildings and built brand new cottages from the ground up. We re-opened to guests in the spring of 2015. I was named after my grandfather, Nicholas, and it just so happens that my wife’s name is Amy. So, once again Nick & Amy are your hosts at the Ledges!
