Dear Heather, We’d like to clarify that on short-term rental platforms such as VRBO, hosts must choose from a limited set of property types—such as House, Apartment, Cabin, etc.—and there is no separate category for “Duplex” or “Townhouse.” As such, duplex homes are listed under the “House” category, which is standard and compliant with platform guidelines. You can verify this directly on VRBO. During your stay, you submitted a series of complaints which were all thoroughly investigated by our technical team and confirmed to be unfounded. We suspected at the time that you might later post a misleading review, and unfortunately, that has proven to be the case. If you simply didn’t like the home, it would have been more constructive to communicate that honestly and request to vacate, rather than fabricating issues. We ask the readers of this review to compare it with all other guest reviews—an overwhelming majority of which reflect highly satisfied stays. Hi Larry, We’re truly surprised by your review, especially considering there was no communication during your stay to indicate any dissatisfaction. We take great pride in the cleanliness and preparation of our home, and our cleaning team consistently receives high praise from other guests. The dishwasher is always emptied before each check-in, and we stock sufficient towels and washcloths for the number of guests registered. More concerning was the incident on your checkout day. After checkout time, an unidentified woman attempted to access the property without authorization. For everyone’s safety, we have a strict policy prohibiting re-entry after checkout. We offered assistance to retrieve the items through our lost and found process or to wait for the cleaning team already en route, yet the individual insisted we remotely unlock the house, which we could not allow for security reasons. We will be reporting this review to VRBO as it includes false claims and omits critical context.
