About this property

Beautiful lower level of house in nature with wildlife all around.

Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. This is a nature oasis. Feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, with trees all around. Many kinds of birds including humming birds. There are all kinds of wildlife close by.
Deer, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, raccoons, just to name a few, have been seen. Small fire available if you would like a camp fire. We are 44 minutes(37 miles) from the Ark Encounter and 27 minutes(18 miles) from the Creation Museum. Only 7 miles from a super market and 5 miles from the Rabbit Hash General Store.

The space
Bedroom has queen size bed separate from the living area.
Inside the house is a spacious living area with smart TV, DVD player with a huge selection movies. Also in that space you will find an additional sleeping space. Dining table and chairs to play games or cards. Kitchenette has microwave, toaster oven, full size refrigerator. Bathroom has an oversize tub with a shower.

Peaceful place to stay

My family stayed for 3 nights and had plenty of room for everything we needed. The hosts were fabulous and so attentive to our needs. I especially liked the complimentary bottled water since it was a hot week for our visit.

The Nature Oasis

We celebrated our 41st Anniversary in this wonderful slice of Kentucky. It allows easy access to the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum, Rabbit Hash, and the Cincinnati sites. After a long day, we would rest and watch the wildlife emerge in the valley. It was beautiful.The owner and his wife were kind, quick to answer texts, and a delight. If we ever make it back this direction, we hope to return to the Nature Oasis.

Just right

Paul’s quiet, eclectically decorated basement apt was just what we needed for a quick stopover. He gave great communication and directions to his hidden, peaceful hillside abode.

It was very quiet

Beautiful cozy place to stay. We visited Ark Encounter and it was just 35 minutes to drive. The owner was very thoughtful, described in details the way to the place. I would recommend it to those who doesn’t like hotels. We enjoyed the place and the wild nature.

Peaceful Retreat

The stay is ground level so easy to haul your items inside. There is some interesting and beautiful artwork exhibited throughout the lodging area. The host and hostess are the kindest folks! My favorite part was sitting in the rocking chair outside and enjoying nature with my morning coffee. It was serene, quiet and relaxing. I hope to stay again and bring a family member.

Hidden Gem!

After an 11 hr drive-pulling into this hidden gem in the KY hills was just what we needed. The home was so well kept and every detail was seen to with such care and intention. The hosts were super helpful with anything we needed. Our children loved the wildlife, books, and old DVDs. Perfect spot for a little family to unwind after all the sights. We will definitely be back and recommend to all our friends.

Road trip to the Ark

This was the best Road trip! Our host Cindy and Paul were fantastic and were a big part of our fun, taking time to show us their unique town, Rabbit Hash. When we were at the appt., we spent most of our time outside to take in the beauty of the landscape. Their retreat is in the rural area where we took advantage of the whinding roads to just experience this pretty part of the country. The Ark encounter is about 40 minutes away which didn't seem long cause the drive was such a joy. Cindy and Paul were quick to provide anything we needed including local fun spots to lotion. Thank you both again for some great memories. If you are looking for a place to get away and relax, this is it.

Tucked away out of the city, lovely basement apartment.

Paul and his wife were super accommodating and helpful! The driveway is a bit hard to find, so Paul tied a balloon on the mailbox so we would know where to pull in. The basement is under their living quarters but we barely heard anything from the upper floor. It has a private entrance. Pros: Quiet. Tucked away Out in nature Accommodating hosts Tv with many options 2 twin beds and one master bed (double? Queen?) With a spare twin matress we pulled out for our 3rd little. Private bathroom and kitchen area The kitchen has a fridge, coffee pot, microwave, toaster oven and electric plate if want to cook anything. Things to consider: Food is 20min one way They have a cat and dog on property so if you are like me and my little make sure you have allergy meds and an inhaler handy.
