We stayed for the weekend, walked the trails, and had a small campfire. Very relaxing to be out in nature. The grill works great and we did bring a small coffee pot just incase. Definitely will be back!
Thanks for the review and It was very nice meeting you. We're thankful that you choose our spot to celebrate your special day, and hope to see you and your family back here on Sunday (July 23) for our Annual health and vegetarian food festival :)
The cabin was as described! Very private and very cozy. The instructions to get there were very clear as well. The mattress seemed outdated and the window ac unit was right behind the bed but overall it was a great stay. Great price for the weekend!
Wonderful cabin with modern comforts. Views of the lake were stunning. Hiking trails provided a much needed escape into the woods.Debbie was amazing! Clear communication, very friendly and accomodating. Our Daily Bread is now on our list of places to return to in the future!
The cabins were wonderful, the location was beautiful, and our hosts could not have been nicer. Everything was clean, and the AC worked great! They also had a very nice deck with a gas grill, that overlooked the lake. The best vacation we have had in years. We are already looking forward to next year.

This review is very inaccurate, and surprising, as the guest commented as to how beautiful the property is. Please note also that this is coming from guests that told me (Debbie), that they would break the rules we had in place. We are a no smoking campus, and this guest's male friend stated "well, I guess I'm going to have to break those rules"; at which point my husband and I decided we would offer them a full refund if they felt that this was not a good fit, but they decided to stay anyway and Nikol's male friend responded that the place was growing on him and how peaceful it was as he reclined back on the couch.
Its ironic that they said cabin is not as listed, when everyone else says it is just as listed! These are cabins up in the woods, and I was in contact with them during their stay (they even commented that I was the only good thing), but they never mentioned an issue with ants or an odor. Since then, we have in place poison for the few ants that I've seen. I've ---not smelled an odor and I have a hound dog's nose... or so my husband says, Lol. But its possible they may have gotten the occasional whiff of manure from our neighbor that have a pig farm about a mile away... "this is farm country!"
I hope this won't deter you from coming to experience as one guest have stated, "one of the quietest place on earth!" And as several others have said "this is a hidden gem! This place is our ministry... our goal is to have a place for people to come and find peace and relaxation, listen to all the natural sounds of nature, and to hopefully reflect on the awe of the beautiful creation and creator. Hopefully, you will come and experience this for yourself.
The cabin was clean, comfortable and cozy!!! Debi and Larry were fantastic!! They were great hosts! Friendly and happy people dedicate to being helpful and caring. And I caught a huge bass at the lake not 100ft.or so from the cabin!!! We built a campfire and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. It was Great!!! Will go there again for sure!!!! Big thank you's to Debi and Larry!!!!

Marah and her group were great guests! They went skiing at Swiss valley ski resort, just 10 mins from the cabins. Thanks for coming guys, and glad you had a good experience!
What a great place to stay if you are passing through. My family and I really enjoyed the quiet solitude of the cabin while while we were there. We were able to use it as a day tripping base while visiting the surrounding towns and apple orchards. Definitely worth the visit!
Very friendly hosts, beautiful property. No internet access though.

About the host
Hosted by Debbie
We're from beautiful SW Michigan, and enjoy the activities that is favorable to this area such as canoe and kayaking, swimming, ATV riding (local country roads and state forest roads as permitted), skiing, tubing, hiking, and just things that involve the outdoors. It’s so rewarding being a host, it’s really a ministry for us, knowing that we can be a blessing in providing a safe, clean and beautiful spot for others to come aside and rest and rejuvenate. We also love meeting our guests when possible, some from thousands of miles away and others just a few... but always interesting to know what brought them here. We love hospitality and look forward to making each guest feel extra special!
Why they chose this property
There are 36 lakes within 6 miles in the Marcellus area which provides for great activities year round... ie. skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, ATV riding (local country roads and state roads as permitted), biking, etc. What I love most about our location, is the peace and quiet. Our no-wake 80 acre lake is serene and quiet, a great place for fishing, boating, or swimming with sandy beach and rope swing that kids love. We're located on almost 200 acres of rolling hills, wooded trails, farmland ... a private estate/campground that includes cabins and several campsites, of which our guests have complete access to... and at times may be the only guest on site! Our neighborhood, with dirt road is very Norman Rockwell... very nostalgic & picturesque with small town values and traditions. Close by are vineyards and orchards, Swiss Valley ski resort, and about 45 minutes from Lake Michigan. Many guests that visit will look for homes in the area!
What makes this property unique
Our property is very unique and untraditional. We are a health retreat center and campground. We offer nutrition counseling by registered dietitian, plant based cooking classes and health education classes by medical doctor and other health professionals. Our campground is not packed in with seasonal guests, but instead we limit stays and are usually very quiet with a few guests at one time, with the exceptions of our groups (family reunions, church groups, youth groups). We are in a great location and many guests use us as either a destination, taking advantage of our unique features, and rent kayaks, paddle boats, canoes, etc and relax at our beach, hike in the woods and enjoy the beauty we have to offer; while others use us as a hotel and visit the major attractions we are so fortunate to have in this area... Lake Michigan in St Joseph Michigan (was listed as best place for lovers in the country), also South Haven, & Warren Dunes; Kalamazoo Valley Children's Museum (free); and Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Museum in Kalamazoo.... just to name a few! We are also in a great location to visit vineyards, orchards, and farmers markets; and we also have organic fruits and vegetables for sale here; along with wild berries and apples located on the trails as you walk... feel free to help. yourself!
