About the host
Hosted by Ralph Slyder

It all began for me on the banks of Young Woman’s Creek, a place where the water runs clear and the air is crisp with the scent of pine. I was there with a close friend, fly rods in hand, when we met a seasoned angler—the cabin's original owner—by chance on the stream. What started as a shared love for the quiet pursuit of trout quickly became a deep and lasting friendship for the three of us. We spent days casting lines, sharing stories, and escaping the hustle of our daily lives.
As our bond grew, we discovered this small, rustic cabin nestled deep in the mountains. The original owner, seeing the same passion we held for the land, decided to pass the torch. The three of us invested in the property together, turning it into more than just a cabin—it became our sanctuary. It was a place to unwind after a long day on the water, to sit around a crackling fire and relive the day’s catches, and to simply enjoy each other's company.
Now, years later, the cabin stands as a testament to our friendship. It's where we've celebrated retirements and spent countless hours together as sportsmen, away from the noise of the world. The cabin is filled with the memories of shared laughter and the timeless bond forged on a mountain stream.
We're so excited to share it with you. We invite you to experience the same magic, to unplug from the day-to-day grind, and to find your own stories on the banks of Young Woman’s Creek. We hope you'll feel the same sense of peace and connection that we do every time we’re here.
