Two 12’ x 12’ bedrooms in the back have lake and woods views. The 38’ x 25’ great room has views on all three sides. A large u-shaped couch allows everyone to watch the lake in comfort. Great view of the sunrise on the shoreline (see photo). Full size propane range with oven. Two grills, one for smoking and a Weber.
The location is convenient with a good supermarket 3 miles away in Two Harbors and Betty's pies within walking distance. ATV and Snowmobile trails are within a mile. There is lots of wildlife to be seen on this property. Eagles are regularly sitting in the top of the pines overlooking the lake. Deer frequently go through the property and a grouse or two have been known to hang around. You won’t have a lack of things to look at.

This cottage is an absolute gem! It’s comfortable, with lots of space to spread out and so many thoughtful, homey touches. The location is ideal — close to town, yet plenty of privacy and incredible views. It was very clean, everything in good condition, and great communication with our host whenever we needed it. Hope to be back!
My husband and I had a great 4 day weekend at this property. We enjoyed being so close to Lake Superior. We enjoyed each sunset on the rocks by the water. We even got to see a bear cub in the yard our first day!
We were up for grandmas marathon and couldn’t have picked a better spot for our family. The cabin had everything we needed and Kevin was very helpful and communicative. We would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a north shore getaway.
We had a great time enjoying the north shore this weekend. The lake, the fall colors, and the little towns. This place is a great home base and launch pad for all the things to do in this area. It was our 2nd visit to this property, and we enjoyed it even more than the first.
Very comfortable cottage on beautiful Lake Superior. Cottage has all the amenities for cooking, relaxing, and sitting by the lake. Secluded and private but in an area with a lot to do and see.
Great property and beautiful view of the Lake. Plenty of room to spread out and nice amenities. Our host was terrific and responded quickly to any questions we had.The only negative was that there is only one bathroom and it is on the small size. For our family, it was inconvenient.Still fantastic in every other way.
Fantastic place right on the shores of Lake Superior. Had a great time.
The property was well kept and had everything we needed. It was a cold winter night when we arrived, but the place was warm and cozy when we steppe in. Would definitely recommend to others.
The wife and I spent our 23 year anniversary at this place. Very close to lots of cool things the North Shore has to offer. You can be in Two Harbors (Tipsy mosquito is cool) in a matter of minutes and you can be in State Parks in a matter of minutes as well. You can literally walk to Betty’s pies and we even took a journey all the way up to Grand Marais (Angry Trout is outstanding)approximately an hour and a half. The evenings were incredibly quiet and the views of the lake as usual are always breathtaking. I can’t think of much that the house did not have that we found we needed, but didn’t accommodate- I think this home would be really nice in the winter time as well!
Enjoyed this private quiet shoreline cabin getaway
We were busy by day enjoying the North Shore and enjoyed time at this cabin in the evenings, just watching the water and sitting on the bench or in the "egg chair" enjoying the peaceful view and woods around. Fans in both bedrooms helped us all sleep better and there were dishes and towels and clean amenities for use.
We really enjoyed this place! It’s so awesome to have the lake right in the backyard. Hard to beat having your own private beach, which is what I assume makes this a more expensive listing. Knowing it was something we can’t afford to do often, we took advantage with dips in the water every morning and campfires every evening. The water isn’t super easy to enter if you are older or younger, but it feels great! There’s plenty of firewood for the campfire and towels. The kitchen has a lot also, but no dishwasher and the coffee maker is a keurig. Luckily we brought our French press. Location is pretty great, with it being easy drives to two harbors, gooseberry falls, split rock, and tettegouche.
The property and location were perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway. We enjoyed watching the sunrise from the couch in the early morning. The sound of the waves is so soothing. The wood stove was so cozy at night. We would love to stay here again in warmer weather, too! It was awesome, still, in the winter.
My wife and I recently celebrated our 53rd wedding anniversary at Shelf Point cottage. The property is a modernized cabin with a huge great room/kitchen/dining area with two large bedrooms on the end. The great room offers 180 degrees of windowed views of the lake. The cabin was spotlessly, clean. The kitchen has a gas range, All utensils, cookware, and table service are provided. We loved the closeness of the lake, the variety of seating options, and the large firepit. Having rented 60-70 VRBO properties over the years we both agreed that this one for us was one of the best and by far the very best of any we have rented on the Great Lakes. We appreciated the owners kind attentiveness and hope to return soon for a longer stay.

Why they chose this property
There are often Eagles fishing from the trees on the shoreline. Lots of wildlife. All with a brewery and great grocery store 2 1/2 miles away.
What makes this property unique
Lakefront property on Superior no stairs, no cliff walk out access to the lake. The house has a Northwood's look. There are hardwood floors in the main common area. Views of the lake can be seen through three sides of the building.
