~DOG FRIENDLY~QUIET and COZY Loon Lake, Vergas MN cabin~
2-bedroom 1 bath COZY cabin on Loon Lake, Vergas MN. Plus Bunkhouse (sleeps 2) GREAT FISHING! DOG FRIENDLY! Sleeps up to 6. Fully furnished - just bring your personal necessities, clothing & food! My personal "winter" home, so has all the amenities/necessities from top to bottom! (paper plates, cups, plastic utensils etc are NOT provided)
Small cabin at 600 square feet, but has been uniquely designed to accommodate full size furnishings/amenities without it being too "cramped". Mini-split Heat/AC, ceiling fans, full size washer & dryer, full kitchen with gas stove/oven, dishwasher, full size fridge with ice maker, wet bar/wine/coffee area with drinking water spigot. Kitchen has all dishes, cookware & bakeware, crockpot, microwave, full array of silverware, utensils, and serving dishes, misc. pantry items may be available (spices etc...). Cleaning supplies, broom, mop, dust mop, vac etc... provided. Indoor and outdoor dining areas, extra folding table and chairs too. WIFI, smart tv's (bring your apps) Stereo with cd player - bluetooth capable. 1 full bath with sink, toilet and large tiled shower. Some bath/beach towels provided, but you may want to bring extra beach towels - would like mine to stay in the cabin. 2 bedrooms plus bunkhouse, all linens, pillows and blankets provided.
Cabin has a southern facing deck(beautiful sunsets), on the lakeside with furnishings and gas grill, sliding patio door off cabin kitchen to main deck.
2)lakeside fire pits with seating (some wood available). Firepits are located at base of deck and also along the shoreline. 1)Larger fire pit is not lakeside but has more area for seating.
Dock available, so bring your boat - room for boat trailer parking and the public access/launch is very close by. Steps to the "natural" shoreline in a quiet bay - NOT a sandy SWIM beach - however, a public swimming beach is just a mile or so away. I have done some shoreline cleaning of weeds etc...and have added a sandbox for kids! Sand toys included!
My cabin is primarily for adults - family friendly - NOT suitable for large groups or party animals. Day guests are welcome; however, parking may be limited and additional overnight guests not on rental contract will need prior permission - fees may be applicable.
I have 3 grandbabies of my own, so please ask if you need any "baby" items (highchair, pack-n-play etc..). I will certainly try my best to accommodate so you don't have to haul yours.
Keyless entry
Weekly trash pickup. Recycling is appreciated and the drop station is located within a mile.
The cabin is on a "hilltop". The first of 3 cabins on the point, which are privately spaced and separated by many trees! The driveway is shared by all 3 properties. You are NEVER allowed to block the driveway.
Short walk to Vergas and close to numerous bars, restaurants, shopping and other area attractions. 20 minutes to Detroit Lakes, 15 minutes to Pelican Rapids, 10 minutes to Frazee, 20 minutes to Perham.
Waterfowl (swans, loons, ducks, geese etc..) is abundant, I have also witnessed: deer, wild turkey, muskrat, beaver, raccoon, pepe le pew (skunk), MINK, rabbits and way too many variations of birds to list! Also, being Minnesota, there is an abundance of fireflies, fish flies, mosquitos, wasps, hornets, spiders etc... bring combat artillery (aka bug spray)!
I am a short distance away and provide all lawn care and maintenance. You will be informed if there will be any construction or out of the ordinary maintenance activities necessary during your stay. There is a small single stall garage and a couple of sheds on the property that are for my use only.
You are responsible for your pet(s) behavior. You are responsible for leashing and keeping your dog(s) under control at all times. Also, my lawn mower would appreciate proper clean up of the doggie poo. There are lots of tall grassy area's that could use the fertilizer! Shovel provided!
I am available 24 X 7 via phone. You are expected to contact me immediately with ANY issues so I can remedy them appropriately.
Even though I would enjoy meeting all of my guests, it is my intention that you will never "have" to see me... well, unless I am mowing.
I hope you will consider making my cabin your next "best" vacation yet!

Little glitch with the pontoon when we got there but everything worked out! Amy made sure that we had everything that we needed! Perfect getaway! Will definitely go back!

Thanks Molly! So glad the pontoon was an easy fix. Would be more than happy to have you visit again. The hummingbirds are missing you already!! Amy
Loved our stay at this cabin! Very quiet, beautiful spots to view lake, enjoy a fire! Beds were comfortable, overall space is lovely and kitchen was well equipped! Already thinking about returning in the summer !Already
We were gathering nearby for a family reunion wknd and just looking for a place to rest our heads. This cozy, quaint place was just what we needed. Loved that my parents could bring their dog and our son loved having his own little space in the second building. Host was quick to respond and check-in and check-out were easy. Thanks, Amy!
Fairly secluded cabin property right on Loon Lake providing quiet and privacy, yet just a couple minutes from town. Plenty of wildlife (water fowl, bald eagles, etc.) to observe relaxing on the cabin's large deck. The cabin is very nicely updated with a fully equipped kitchen with newer appliances and bottled water system for drinking and cooking. Compared to other places that I have rented, this cabin was more nicely equipped and cleaner making it great to prepare and enjoy meals. I would highly recommend this place for those looking a small lake getaway. We really enjoyed our stay!

Thank you Kemp! My goal is for your comfort and ease of renting a vacation place. Happy to hear the eagle made an appearance also!!
Staying here was like spending time at a friend’s cabin. Amy was great to work with and is easy going.
The cabin is exactly like pictured and is cozy. We had five grown bodies and a dog and I wouldn’t want any more if there were going to be rainy days. It worked beautifully for us, even with our rainy day. Bunk house isn’t air conditioned but has some thoughtful amenities and is a fun aspect to the property. Hammock was a delight and used often.
We really enjoyed our stay!

Thank you so much for the review! It was a pleasure to host you! My apologies for the sink issue...I replaced the entire faucet! Ha! So glad you enjoyed my little slice of heaven.
I've been coming to the area for family vacation as long as I can remember, but due to some unforseen circumstances, we made a very last-minute reservation to this cabin. Amy was so quick with her responses to all of our questions before we booked and during our stay! We had four adults and a dog, and it was cozy, but the perfect size for us. She has also recently installed air conditioning in the bunk house! At first, I was a little worried about the space for three vehicles and a boat trailer (for a little 14 foot fishing boat), but there was plenty of parking space for our needs, and parking directions were very clear. We had a wonderful time fishing or sitting on the deck with a beautiful view of the lake playing games, and just relaxing.

Thank you Kati! It was a pleasure to host your family vacation. So happy for situation got turned for the better! I hope you will consider this area again!!
We really enjoyed our stay at Loon Lake. The cabin is small but makes great use of the space. Just about everything needed is included. There are many things to do around the area, so you'll never get bored. It's about a minute to the town of Vergas which has great food at the Loon's Nest and a small grocery store which carries many locally made products. It's also about a minute to Loonies Pub, which has something going on every night.
We brought our boat and had a great time exploring Loon Lake. The lake front is weedy and full of lily pads, so no fishing off the dock or swimming right out front, but I took my paddleboard out of the bay and had a fun time floating around. Amy also has 2 kayaks to use, which I tried out. Also, if you're a golfer, there are about 5 courses within 20 minutes of the cabin.
