We had a great stay at the lodge. The home has plenty of bedrooms and beds to accommodate a group. The lake is really great, there is a marina to rent boats from locally which worked out very nicely. We had a very nice stay.

Thanks for a great stay, Kevin! We hope your group keeps the tradition alive at 8 Lakes next year!
Plenty of bedrooms. Beautiful lake with kayaks provided. Spacious living area. Very attentive owners who solved our minor problem immediately. It was an excellent weekend.
Had an awesome time and experience here. Dominic was very accommodating and the house was perfect location on the lake. The lake was beautiful -- we used the kayaks, paddleboards, and mini paddle boat every day (all were provided by the owner). Would absolutely stay here again, the backyard and view of the beautiful lake made everything worth it!
We truly enjoyed our stay this past weekend at Love the 8 Lakes Life! The house was extremely clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. There were a bunch of yard games, kayaks, and board games for our group to enjoy. I would highly recommend this stay for large families or groups.
Location of the home was great! Right on the water, and we rented a boat to explore the lake and chain of lakes. Communication with owner was great and very timely response. There is only 3 bathrooms (one downstairs and two upstairs, one upstairs is an en-suite and other upstairs bathroom is very very small). There are definitely numerous cosmetic updates that can/should be done within the house (living room has a big big soft spot that is covered by a rug), fridge missing some shelves, toilet lose. Some updates are needed. The location is great, lawn, outdoor space and dock were great.
The house fit our family perfectly. My two sisters and I, and our families stayed there comfortably (12 adults and two infants). There was plenty of sitting and game playing area and the kitchen was well equipped. The setting was gorgeous, sunrises and sunsets were spectacular.
Family gathering of 9. Very pleasurable, comfortable stay. We all enjoyed the place and the surroundings tremendously. Cabinetry could use updating although it was all functional. Host (Dominic) was very prompt and helpful with the very few things we needed to contact him about (e.g resupplying charcoal and lighter fluid, etc).
My family of 16 stayed here for a week and really enjoyed it! The property had great amenities with yard games, kayaks and SUP boards. The bedrooms were all spacious. The office had a pull out couch that was very comfortable and convenient as a bedroom.
The hosts were very responsive and super helpful with any questions. They left a binder with a ton of local information on restaurants, grocery stores and things to do. We had a great week!

Thanks Rachel, your group was awesome, come back soon!
We had an amazing stay in this cottage. Our group of 10 had plenty of space within all the bedrooms, and the common areas accommodated us all very well. The kitchen was well-stocked and well-used by our group. It was great to have all the outdoor games and water equipment, as well as a fair amount of provided board games. The only thing lacking was some better light in the living space... a floor lamp or two would have been great. This is a great place!
We had a very relaxed “Bachelorette party” for my soon to be sister-in-law and everything about this house was perfect! The layout of the house is open, spacious, and so cute. Everything was very clean as well. Check in was a breeze as was check out. The owners were quick to reply and wonderful to work with! The only slight downside to this home is lack of parking since we had 16 girls attend but we requested everyone to carpool or be dropped off and that worked well!
I think the only “complaint” some of the girls had was they had someone mowing the lawn Saturday morning but personally I was fine with it as maintenance on the property has to be done and it was during our breakfast so we were all Inside anyways!
I received so many compliments on this house from the girls that stayed. I’d absolutely recommend this home to anyone! We had a wonderful weekend and would definitely stay again!

Not what we expected
The property was not what we expected or hoped for considering the price. Most of the bedrooms barely had a place to put clothes away. It seemed dilapidated and cheaply furnished, and many things were broken and barely patched including the only dining table, cabinets in the kitchen, fireplace, etc. One of the bathrooms was so small it barely fit an adult and the sink was 6 inches wide and 12 inches long… no exaggeration. Even for the four of us who stayed there the bathroom situation was pretty bleak… it would have been awful for 14 people as the house supposedly sleeps. The last night the venting system in our bedroom was so loud I actually had to move into a different room, and the neighbors certainly were not following the quiet hours restrictions. Finally we never received check in instructions from our host until we sent a message at 10:30pm the first night of our stay. Definitely underwhelming for the price.
The house was dilapidated and dirty! A kitchen cupboard was falling off its hinges, and there was here on the tile of the bathtub wall, another bathroom lacked a toilet paper roll holder, there weren’t enough dishes and silverware for a house that has room for 16 people. The refrigerators were dirty. The dock on the lake was so covered with bird poop, it was unusable. The wells of the paddleboat overflowed with water and debris who is no way to get rid of it. I have photos that document the state of disrepair.
There were not full sets of towels… Only a bath towel for each guest. Numerous lights on the main floor and in bedrooms didn’t work.
The “ premium hosts” he dismissed my complaints and concerns as “frivolous.” The host also said that they had personally inspected the property before our arrival, which makes this experience all the more shocking. They were unwilling to discount the stay and the only offer they made was for a gift certificate to a local tavern, which is hardly acceptable nor is it useful when infants are part of the family reunion.
I would strongly urge visitors visitors to the chain of lakes look elsewhere because this property was wholly unacceptable: dirty, rundown, in disrepair.
I wish this review offered me the option to attach photos to document my experience.
We enjoyed our stay at this house. Beautiful views of the lake from the house. Seven bedrooms worked out great for our crew. The owner was quick to respond and very helpfull.
Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel at home, even loaning us their personal grill when we needed more grill space. Very pleasant to deal with. The place is better then the pictures can tell. Will highly recommend .
Our family had a wonderful long weekend near Mt Brighton. The house was perfect with an amazing view. Loved all the windows and the open great room made it the ideal place for family meals and games. Our hosts were so welcoming and quickly answered any questions. We plan to come back in the future during the summer.
We just wrapped up a 4-night stay at the wonderful 8-Lakes Lodge near Pinckney, Michigan, and it was a peaceful, private, beautifully situated vacation home directly by Baseline Lake! It is not fancy or complicated, but rather simple, stylish, convenient, clean and relaxing. Just what we were hoping for. And it’s an easy drive from Ann Arbor, Detroit, and the DTW airport.
perfect for meeting up with my adult sons for a Michigan football game. plenty of space to hang out in the living room or by the lake and enjoy the firepit.
